I don't know how I feel about this. I mean, it doesn't matter too much, I guess, because whatever happens the original series remains, and I am relieved that they're not going the Amazons route, but I think I would have been enthusiastic about something set in the same timeline as the original rather than a remake.

Looking at Shiraishi's body of work I expect a decent scoop of grimy.

Yeah, I hope they don't make the tone too dour. Black was triumphant and upbeat as often as it was dark.

I also hope they keep the theme song, updated/remastered/remade/whatever, just keep that awesome theme.

Oh, that would be totally awkward, I was more thinking a sort of continuation/legacy series, some new Gorgom world building than the primary cast resuming their roles.

I guess I'm curious. I fear it'll be a bit too much like Amazons, a show I really wanted to love but couldn't maintain interest in. That I'm not familiar with the original Kamen Rider Black may actually be helpful. I'm also kind of hoping for a cooler version of the suit; I just didn't care for the original or RX.

Even Amazons couldn't avoid getting shackled by toys, albeit not to the degree the main Kamen Rider seasons have been for the past however-many years. One of the things that threw me out of that show was the suits, belts, and weapons - both hero and villain - just didn't match either the overall tone of the show or each other.

Given how little we know, it could turn out to be anything at all, and another try at an adult-oriented Kamen Rider show could produce something I might really love. We won't know until it airs, I suppose.

It could end up being streaming short to anime or manga special or Ichigo first next movie . Live action though .

So say that they bring back toku alumni for this project and faithfully adapt the manga(so not going the route of Amazons and just faithfully stick to the source), I think one of these alumni would be a decent Kotaro:
