Mei is a great heroine not gonna lie, but that doesn't mean is a necessity for her to have a rider form, actress saying they want to become rider doesn't mean she has to become one. Izu despite having much more oppoturnity to become rider in the series and her actress even say she want to become one, didn't become a rider in the series and everyone is fine with that while Mei not become one in the series is not? Yeah sounds fair (Movie doesn't count because we're disscussing the series right now, but even then Izu got 02 not an original form) Plus in term of writing Mei becoming Espada over Kento is worse because: 1) Kento was Espada at the start of the series 2) Kento has a much more crucial role than Mei 3) It just make no sense for anyone in the gang to give her sword and go "Let's fight together!" If they care about her safety, especially when they fight against a psychopath 4) Despite Kento using Calibur for a good chunk of the show, they also steer toward him taking back Ikazuchi as a big point for his character 5) Espada as a whole is more related to Kento than pretty much anyone in the cast The only things that Mei has that point to her becoming Espada is ED and her holding Ikazuchi during the nothern base raid which is not even a character driven scene Like seriously aside from that two things, what did Mei has to point toward her becoming Espada? Nothing Seriously Mei is a great support character and sometime you don't need a rider form nor a super power to be good. Example would be Hayato from Jojo, he's a little kid and doesn't even have a Stand, but he is a great character, which show that a character can be awesome despite being normal. Beside if Mei need a rider form for the show to have a "good" writting then pretty much 90% of rider are bad because they don't make the heroine a rider. This is like saying Gaim is bad because Mai didn't become a rider or something similar to that which is just pure absurdity. A great character is still great even if they not a rider, but being a rider doesn't immediately mean that the character is great |

the only reason i was watching saber because i was hoping that mei would become a rider, so that's out of the window, im finished because it's the same crap i have been watching since the beginning, there's nothing to the story accept saber's suit. it would be nice for mei to become a rider because i love to her character evolve into hero especially from all the intense battles she's involved in and she gets nothing from that is very bad writing, so im done with this series. end of story. |

I'm sorry, but you are genuniely mentally ill if literally the only reason you watch this show is to wait for mei to become a rider. please stop watching the show if you're going to be fucking silly. mei being the way she is is what grounds her as a character. a lovable, grounded character doesn't always need to be a rider. legit, them NOT being a rider is what makes them special. I pray to god you weirdos stop obsessing over a show because of female riders. jesus christ, man. let female characters be powerful characters as they are - because they literally almost always get treated better than female riders. as previously stated, becoming a rider doesn't fucking magically make you a better character nor does it always amount to progression. just because you're a horny little kid who wants to see more riders like marika and sabela doesn't equate to the character magically becoming better. we've had so much amazing supporting cast among female characters that don't become riders, it's insulting to beg for them to become riders for no reason at all. mei is literally the only "grounded" character in our main cast. in most series, our grounded cast consists of multiple people, yet mei is carrying the entirety of the human and grounded side of saber. |

If Karate Bugmen got you this upset, you might wanna rethink your priorities. It's just a man in a suit man, calm down. I can't tell if you think of this fictional character as real? Becoming a Rider is not some "promotion", espcially not for somebody who's a main character. "Oh cool now I get stand in a booth and go AAAAAAAAAH", in addition to filming normal scenes is like not at all a promotion. I think you just hyped yourself up on the idea of Mei becoming Espada because you REALLY wanted her to be Espada. It's also not like being a Rider is the "be all" for a character in a Rider show, Ichijo is literally the best Rider bro in the entire franchise bar Banjou and my mans had a gun and a gasmask for all 50 episodes of Kuuga, he wasn't any less of a Hero then Kuuga was. |
Mei doesn't have to be a rider but she were to be become one I'd rather it be a new rider rather than a hand-me-down Espada

i swear to all things good i will become an actual sexist if i see another 'criticism' being 'mei not rider, therefore writing bad', and i hope that revice and any future seasons have no female characters in sight just so we can avoid this criticism ever again
Jokes aside, we don't need every character becoming a Rider. Being a strong character doesn't have to involve people transforming into Riders. While I do like the seasons with a lot of Riders, I do think that the shows with only two to three Riders total are among the strongest of seasons. Den-O, W, OOO, Fourze, and Drive are among the strongest of the seasons, and they didn't have all the characters becoming Riders (well, if you count Ryotaro as the 'real' title Rider of Den-O and the Imagins as the form changes before they start actually transforming on their own). If anything, I feel like making characters into Riders just because weakens their character, because it makes it feel like "You only have any worth if you can become a Rider." But I think we really, really need to lay off the accusations and name calling here, because as Damienthathedge said- Quote:

Man, we can get some mods in here? Clean this up a bit?
|
Sooo.... how's the show, guys? All I can see is just about Kento transform into espada again and if I'm not wrong, its in the next week episode. Not today XD

I would have expected Kamijo to come back before I ever thought of Kento's father! Not that I ever cared much for the former, but he's still an established character and was -the- Calibur for a good while, whereas Kento's father showing up may as well be a whole new character to the audience :O Either way though, will be glad to see the golden genie rider once again.
