I liked Spirited Away. Can't say much for the others.

I know, I pretty much figured I'd be ostricized for it but I've never seen a Miyazaki film and actually enjoyed it. They're all quite boring to me. I'm sure there are plenty of people that enjoy those films but they just aren't for me.

In fairness, I just remembered that I actually have watched some anime in recent years, just not a lot of it.

I really liked Panty and Stocking because, well, it's crazy. I also watched Queen's Blade for awhile, but that was really only because it was hilariously terrible - and even then, I eventually got bored of laughing at its stupidity and stopped watching.

This happens when you recast the lead actor.

Funny, I'd put that the other way around. Panty and Stocking's Transformers episode is something all TF fans (over 18) should see once though. Hilarious :lol

Not going to argue either as great or even good though. Just kind of fun.

Huh. I actually hate those "Crazy and weird" anime. I couldn't stand FLCL, I hated Zetsubou Sensei, and I have no interest in watching Panty and Stocking.

I saw the Transformers parody episode of Panty and Stocking a while back on DVD.It's really well done for what it is.

Sorry, couldn't resist :p I'm not big on those animes either, but I can't help enjoy a few. FLCL is still one of Gainax's best animes.

Speaking of Gainax, Evangelion is the most overrated anime of all that. Not the worst anime I've seen, but definitely one of the few shows that make me want the time I spent watching it back.

Evangelion is not a good series. I gave up on it twice, I think I just read the ending on Wikipedia or something.

Far, FAR too many anime get labeled as "Good" and "Amazing" because it has trippy or unique visuals. Akira is considered a landmark anime, despite it being f*cking stupid, just because the end when Tetsuo mutates the visuals go on an acid trip.
