In other news, and I'm sure most of you will have seen on TFW, but Link and Samus will finally be getting a US release. Hopefully the UK gets one two now (we where meant to be getting them too right?) Failing that, it at least means I won't have to pay crazy money for them =]

I've never owned a Figma, but from watching reviews I think I'd still prefer figuarts over them. I will be getting Link and Samus. And I'm on a no spending policy this month other than my obligatory pre-order payments, so I will have to wait to get Pit.

Yeah we were. Whether we'll get them now depends whether they're being released through Diamond I guess. Price-wise you'd be looking at about £45-50 IIRC, which is how much they cost on BBTS shipped to the UK anyway.

Made sure to order a Samus any way. Originally cancelling my order because I thought she'd be easy to get later is my biggest toy regret and that certainly won't be happening again.

I'm glad for the people that wanted Link and Samus will finally be able to get them for decent prices.

Spidey looks alright, I don't think the suit translates too well into toy form though.

And got Pit in the other day. He's a pretty neat little guy. But I'm absolutely terrified of snapping his arrow and rings, so am not even bothering trying to put them together. It's just too tight of a fit.

Glad to see they added some colour to the web pattern.

Smooth joints aside (which was a given), I take back my earlier criticisms. On looks alone Figma > Mafex IMO.

So no longer web effects? Bummer.

Eitherway I'm comfortable with my 4 inch superheroes.

I think I have to buy that figma. I did consider the Mafex due to all the praise, but since I will have several figmas anyway...plus this guy looks AMAZING. No pun intended this time.

Being a massive Spider-Man fan that movie pained me to no end. I thought the costume was needlessly busy shit, and the overall plot was so linear it was ridiculous, oh and a villain with zero motivation to even be a villain.

That aside, the figure looks pretty damn impressive.

Really? I loved that movie. I can't wait for the sequel. I wasn't a fan of the costume change, but I felt the villain had a fine motivation to be a villain (Simply, make everyone in the world "Perfect" in his eyes. The best villains are the ones who think they're doing the right thing).
It actually hurt more to see the Raimi Spider-Man trilogy praised at all. :lol

Anyway, without longer web accessories, I can't see myself using the webs, but the figure itself is pretty cool. I can't wait to give my other figures an iPhone accessory :lol

Spider-Man 1 is the only Spidey film I've ever cared form. 2, 3, and Amazing have just been terrible in my eyes. I'm apparently the only person who enjoyed 3 more than 2 and hates Amazing. I just thought it was a terrible insult to the characters. And to not have the great power/responsibility line was just such a bad choice. It's what makes Peter who he is, the basis for the man and hero he becomes. It had some good moments but I was so disappointed, I just wanted a good classic spidey film :(

I found 2 to be tolerable, but that's because I liked Molina's performance. 1 and 3 were grating to me.

And there's nothing wrong with that. But I felt that Amazing gave more life to it's characters. Ben was likable. In the Raimi trilogy, he was just spouting "Words of encouragement" and it made Peter's tantrum seem unreasonable against him. In Amazing, he felt like an actual person, quipping with May, smiling around Peter, and just not just preaching. In Raimi's trilogy, May herself felt like a plot device to make Peter feel like shit. Every time she opened her mouth, it was like she followed this thought process:

Is Peter smiling? Bring up Ben.
Is Peter frowning? Bring up Ben.
Is Peter not even around? Act like a normal person until Peter walks in frame. THEN bring up Ben.

It's also not helped that I despised Dunst's MJ (Though I don't know if it's her actress or if it was how she was written), so Gwen is a massive step up for me. While Garfield's douche/slacker Peter isn't exactly to my liking, he feels like more of a person by not being a generic nerd who can't stand up to anyone or speak out loud.

As for the rest, the villain was rather weak, but I still liked the Lizard. Not having the "Power/Responsibility" line is okay with me because every cartoon Spidey shows up in is guaranteed to have him say it at least twice, and I hope Electro ups the game in the next movie.

Hipster Peter is what really killed it for me. But Gwen? Oh hell yes Emma Stone, I love her.

I've never seen Amazing Spider-Man. I will say, I liked all 3 of the Raimi films. I've heard that Amazing made changes to his origins, and I don't agree with those changes. I also hate the suit. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 suit looks AMAZING though.

Actually with the exception of venom being way to skinny i still enjoy all three of the spiderman films. I really dont want to see amazing spiderman, it feels way to different.

Hot Toys New Goblin is essentially Hot Toys James Franco. I cannot argue with how awesome that makes it.

No, he was that skinny. Then Topher Grace was an idiotic casting decision for Brock to start with.. And I didn't much like Kristen Dunst either. Or Toby mcGuire.
