Snatched up an OOO driver for 93$ on manadrake and waiting on a Stocking keychain to come in next week.

Yeah, I've only had ONE Priority mail package EVER take more than 3 days, in 7 years. Even from AK and HI they show up in 3 days, I'm surprised USPS doesn't actually guarantee 3 day delivery, because it my experience - and face it, I have a fuckton of experience shipping and receiving via UPS from the last 7 years - it's ALWAYS 3 days.

Except that one, that inexplicably took i think 7 or 8 business days.

I seem to recall a Rocket States Fourze that you sent me. That priority mail took over a week! They even re-adjusted the expected delivery when they failed to get it on time, twice! :lol

Oh yeah! I'd forgotten that one. Okay, 2 packages in the last 7 years, one on its way to me, one on its way from me. Still, pretty good odds, from my experience.

I'm really not getting what you're saying here. I don't work at a comic store, so I don't know what "doing their jobs right" would entail. Gotta remember that.

The numerous times I've been there, I've never seen anything like a magazine people can order from.

My bad. Previews is a publication that's meant for the public, for customers. Every comic shop (if doing it correctly) is supposed to order quantity of this magazine and sell it to their customers. We give our copies away as a thank you to our normal customers but by no means do all shops do that.

But the whole point of it is to solicit items 2 months in advance. That's how the ordering system through Diamond comics works. Every order is placed 2 months ahead, like in January we ordered stuff for March. Well the only way to accurately gauge what to order that month is for that book to be in a customers hands. It even has a customer order form in that you can fill out so that you can take it back to your shop. Then they know exactly what to order for you, item codes and all.

If they were using Previews like they should then they'd be selling it to customers when it comes out (the first week of every month) and then you'd get to look through and see what you'd like them to order for you. It always baffles me when a shop either doesn't carry Previews or doesn't distribute it. It's just a really great courtesy to your customers and it makes the ordering process so much simpler.

And it all makes perfect sense now. Thank you. :)

Maybe I've just missed it before. But then this was the first week of February and I was there at the start of the week and saw nothing. If they aren't distributing them to us, it really is a shame. And as the only comic shop in town, I'd think they'd want as much business as they can get. But then they also seem to get most of their business from Magic the Gathering players, so who knows what their priorities are.

Man, thinking about all of this really makes me want to go buy a Figuart though since I haven't in so long haha.

I feel like I need to buy something from Den-O to properly be a member of the site :lol

Or you can just go to the Previews website, look up the order form for the month, get the page numbers and what you want to order, and then show it to your comic shop's employee to order.

Yellow always comes with the Darin. Since she was an exclusive, Bandai packed it so that her box is twice as wide, and it sits in a separate plastic bubble behind her.

If you were willing to Kain, you can find the Darin for GokaiRed by itself on Mandarake, and just buy GokaiRed himself from a different store.

I ordered SIC Tajador and Skull/FangJoker from BBTS two days ago.

Now to wait two months for them to ship, then an additional thirty years for them to arrive.:mad:

Surface to Air Lift I believe, basically your package gets tossed into a giant shipment, and they don't leave very often, so your package can take anywhere between 2 weeks to 3 months to arrive. Available from overseas to the US, I don't think BBTS offers that kind of shipping.

Is USPS air SAL?

Because it's the only shipping that doesn't eff me in the ay.

If you order SAL, you'd know it.
But if you ever do want to not see a package for 2 months, go SAL. It's cheap as hell, though (Usually ranging from $3-$10).

It's funny, I can order something from Japan for about $14 shipping and get it in days. But BBTS which charges a mere $4 less takes a week and a half. That is after they ship it, which can take days. AND I always have to pay duty and customs on BBTS, not HLJ.

SAL (and EMS) aren't particular mail carriers like UPS, FedEx or DHL, they're international postal services that are offered in cooperation with the postal systems of multiple countries. Japan Post is how most of us are familiar with using SAL, but the US Postal Service and Canada Post both use it too, we simply don't label it that way as frequently as Japan Post does. Whether or not online stores offer it to Canada is at their discretion, and has nothing to do with the country in which you live.

In the case of BBTS, either their arrangement with USPS or their need to provide insured, trackable mail overseas are what prevent then from offering a less expensive service. You're almost paying the equivalent of EMS with them, but Canada Post basically screws up the "express" part.

Yeah, but when it comes down to it with shipping, that darin is going to cost me $10 plus $15ish for shipping. I doubt GokaiRed will be more than 3000-4000Y whether he has the darin or not, so it is more cost effective to just buy him with the darin from Mandrake.
