Blade. I like the designs and it was a good introductory series I think. Vangelus got me interested with his reviews of kamen rider figuarts

first one i saw decade but not finished the first i finished w and loved it
I finished Kiva first since Dragon Knight was on a hiatus or i didnt get it recorded or what ever else popped up and Kiva wound up on youtube when I really got into Toku so it was that Magiranger and Gokaiger all at once
my first was kamen rider black when I was still in the Philippines. love tetsuo a.k.a. Robert akizuki if dubbed
Mine was technically Dragon Knight. But i'm not sure if it counts.
Mine was Dragon Knight too, but for Japanese Kamen Rider it would be Gaim. When I first heard of fruit themed superheroes, I thought okay, this is going to be interesting.
Mine was Dragon Knight as well, but Gaim and Den-O were the ones that really hooked me into Kamen Rider cos I was watching Gaim but decided to watch Den-O as well while waiting for the next Gaim ep and if I had free time
is dragon knight also kamen rider ryuki story?
My first ever legitimate Kamen Rider series is W, while it has its own major shortcomings I still enjoyed it especially Shotaro's heroic moment in episode 48 :)
Ryuki. I got interested in it through some slightly convoluted events. I got really into figmas last year, and was buying up a few random ones that simply looked cool. Very early on I got a Kamen Rider Spear, and from that I got interested in watching the original series from which the design came from. (Never watched Dragon Knight, anyway). Ryuki is still my favorite series.
my first Rider Series was Kamen Rider Ryuki but it was not a sub it was a Arabic dubbing on a TV channel called Space Toon
My first (and still maintained as my favorite) was KRW.
Kamen Rider Black although, I was aware of some of the older series.
First episode I watched: Wizard
First Series I watched all the way through: OOO |
I started watching OOO after seeing the Super Hero Time ads while watching Gokaiger. Looked into a bit and was basically sold after seeing how crazy the belt was :lol
Technically my first rider show was Dragon knight, but then I looked W after that from ads during shinkenger.
Scine then ive watched Gaim Drive Fourze den-O icigo Its safe to say I'm hooked now. |
The first time I really got into Rider was with the first episode of Decade. I watched some Kiva before that but didnt like that at all (that has never changed) and never wanted to touch the franchise again. The Rider War and everything that went down in Decade really got me into the Idea of Rider though.
Before the next episode aired I wanted to actually watch a whole show and the first suit that really caught my eye was Kabutos. The Belts sounds helped too. So I blasted trhough that show and instantly fell in love with Rider. The slick designs, cool sounds, great music and douchey testosterone filled characters where exactly what 17 year old me wanted to see :lol |
Black for me... and after several years Ryuki brought me back to the fandom
I said Gaim was my first series. But if you want to count the American/English version, Masked Rider/ Kamen Rider Black RX would have been my first.
Kabuto was the first show I watched.
Technically, Wizard. First show I watched start to finish, Fourze. First show I watched as it was airing, Gaim.
My introduction to rider heroes was the KR Shin movie I watched at an animes/mangas con when it was released in VHS. My first rider series was Kuuga, I watched the whole thing raw as it aired in japan, downloading eps. a few hours after they aired from a now definct japanese P2P program. Yep, i'm old like that...!
The first Rider series I watched was W actually within the past year. I'd been toying with the idea of delving into it while I was watching Go-Busters, because I was having a tough time getting into that and needed something different. Someone recommended W, so I went for it and was hooked immediately. Love that cast and the aesthetic of that series so much.
From there, I continued to OOO, and I just finished watching Fourze the other day. Had an unexpected mini-marathon of the first six episodes of Drive last weekend, but I'm likely going to take a break before jumping backwards to check out Kuuga. |
Yeah, W was my first series as well.
Technically Black RX when I was a kid seeing it on TV
Started to follow Kamen Rider again with Gaim. :3 |
My first was the original series. I wanted to see Kamen Rider in its purest form, so I could get a better understanding of the tropes that make each season unique. I think I only made it up to episode 17 before I fell off of it, but I did enjoy what I saw of it.
W was technically my second unless Dragon Knight doesn't count
OOO.
My least liked season, Decade. ONORE DIKEIDO! Shinkengers why? What really hooked me into watching the whole show however was the theme. It was an interesting departure from Sentai themes. I finally jumped in the rabbit hole for my FIRST piece of Rider merch is going to be SS W that I have on pre-order...
The big 10, Decade. I'd known about Den-O and followed Kiva through out(watching random episodes) but opportunity struck and I was able to, plus hearing the idea of the show and the theme had me sold.
And I don't regret it one bit. |
Faiz was the first series I ever saw. I watched the show when I got high speed internet for the first time back in 2004 when Blade was airing. I knew what Sentai and Kamen Rider were but I had never actually seen either one. I was absolutely taken with how different Faiz seemed to be from Power Rangers. I managed to watch the entire show in about three days. (I was 15 back then, marathoning a show that fast is something I don't have the energy to do these days)
It's not a perfect series by any means but because it's my first and because the stories seemed so intense, even in comparison to a lot of things from today, it's always had special place in my heart. |
Well, I actually posted on this thread 4 years ago, but since it's back on the first page I figure I can give a bit of a different perspective. 2012 me was ignorant. 2016 me is... well I can type something new anyway.
I'm something of a special case because I was basically committed to watching everything before I'd even started. Being vaguely familiar with the franchise for maybe about a year, I kind of knew I'd like it and, what do you know, I'm still here now. The very first episode I ever saw of Kamen Rider was OOO's first episode, since it was the show airing at the time, and following that I watched the first couple episodes of Kuuga. But the series I consider to really be my "first" is Ryuki. The drama and the characters of that show hooked me like crazy and I distinctly remember downing 5 episode chunks of it in one sitting on several occasions. I was also watching OOO, first playing catch-up, then as it aired, but Ryuki was the show that really got me irrevocably addicted to Kamen Rider. I liked OOO just fine at the time, but in retrospect I wish I'd have appreciated it more. Even once I caught up I'd frequently let several episodes pile up before sitting down to watch them, which isn't something I do nearly as much now. I thought it was good, but Ryuki was way more exciting to me. And it's a shame because I think you can easily make the case that OOO is one of the best shows out there (and I have seen it made!), but it took till watching some other shows and some reminiscing to really start noticing just how good it was. Even now it's not a big favorite or anything, but after watching Den-O and Go-Busters (both of which I adore) and realizing all four of these shows were from the same writer, I started to see that OOO shares a lot of what I like about the other series Kobayashi wrote. Still haven't watched Dragon Knight though. Not that I'm being an elitist! I just haven't had the urge to yet. That was a little more rambling than intended so thanks in advance to anyone who actually read all of that. |
For me it was Kiva, watched it when it was airing. I knew very little of kamen rider and only found out about it through related video suggestions for sentai videos. It was a big change for me because I never had watch a live action japanese show before to my knowledge, so I was a bit scared. I remember seeing a Blade amv and a few fight scenes from Kiva. Then one day I decided to watch it so I started on episode 13 or 14, the one Rook first appeared in before he had his memories back. I started there because it was the most recent episode and I was confused because of the split story but I enjoyed it. I still have not seen episodes 5 to 12 but I still love it even with the crap that happened in it. Because of it the September of that year I started Den-O, then Kabuto that November. I first kamen rider toy was a Final Form Ride Kiva toy, not the greatest toy but still.
I'm sorry for the big message but I really do love Kiva and without it I don't know if I would of ever got into tokusatsu. |

Mine was Fourze. It was good all around imo
My rider series was OOO and to this day it's my favorite. I just loved the whole medal, animal motif and the fact that all the greeds yummy's represented a sin, like gluttony. I also loved that OOO could mitch match his forms which gave a multitude of combinations. Also the characters were so good that I loved all of them and I was sad when Kazari, Ankh etc. died
Can't remember if I posted in this before, I don't think I did, too lazy to double check.
Anyways, first show I watched anything from was Wizard. Fourze was the first season I watched start to finish, since I got into the franchise when Wizard first started airing. |
My first one was Gaim. I knew about the toys beforehand but it wan't until I was reading Let's Speak English and Mary Cagle, the author/artist, suggested it that I actually decided to find it and watch it. It only took me 3 days after starting it to finish it. Since then I've only caught up on Ghost and and got halfway through Drive but I keep meaning to watch Decade, W, and a few others at some point.
