On Amazon, it looks like it's no longer available from Amazon.com and the movie is gone on Media Blaster's website. I guess everyone assume that the rights went back to Toei. I did ask Media Blasters if the rights expired or not on their FB page. So far no response yet.

The group died several years ago. I think the last project they were working on was Kamen Rider X, which was dropped after six episodes.

Bad Subs
 

I've read somewhere that there is a bad sub of Kamen Rider Drive, I wanna get into it but I just wanna know which is it to avoid it and also if u guys have seen a Kamen Rider series that has a bad sub.

Agito's subs are still relatively bad, considering that thy most recent ones are just somewhat changed versions of the ones Cruel Angel made. And Cruel Angel subs are somewhat weird and often misheard (for example, they mistook the last name Satou for "sweetie" in an episode). Midnight Crew's Kuuga has some minor flaws as well as most of TV-Nihon's older subs, but overall, most fansubs are okay to watch.

As I mentioned in the Sentai fansub topic, my external fried beyond recovery somehow. That means I lost ALL of my fansubs and have to redownload everything again.

However, something good did come out of this. I discovered that Century Kings has transferred their subs onto the Blu-Rays from Kamen Rider Black. Is this new to you guys or am I the last one to know this?

Looks like it wasn't specifically them who did it. Stone (the guy who did RX) took Bunnyhat's raws and put CK's subs on them.

Will have to download at some point, but not sure I've got 20GB of space lying around right now.

I think I've seen it on tumblr a while ago. But honestly, I don't think it really makes a difference considering how old the show is. BDs only get interesting from Kuuga onwards as that is when they started filming in HD.

YOu haven't watched anything old on BD have you? There is a lot of difference. Hell, movies from the 40s and 50s have never looked so good before.

On topic, I checked out a few scenes from Black and I think it does look significantly better than the Region 2 DVDs, and that is just comparing a BD rip. I can not imagine how good the actual BD looks.

This is not accurate.

All of the Showa Rider shows (and all Super Sentai shows until Boukenger) were shot on 16mm film. As long as the original prints exist, anything shot on 16mm film has the potential to look great in HD. It's just a matter of transferring the original film to HD video (and 16mm film can be transferred to 1080p resolution quite easily). This is exactly what Black did for the blu-rays, and the improvement in video quality from the DVD release is dramatic. It's the best HD picture we can expect from a Showa toku show, which is actually pretty amazing.

Regarding the early-Heisei shows, the blu-ray situation is interesting, but not in a good way.

While it's true that Kuuga was shot on 1080i HD video (not on 16mm film), it was broadcast in 480i SD video. It's possible that Kuuga could one day be released on Blu-Ray with true-HD video, but that hasn't happened yet.

After Kuuga, technological and budgetary limitations forced Agito, Ryuki, Faiz, and Blade to be shot on 480i SD video. This means that only SD video masters exist for Agito-through-Blade. As such, it's not possible to release a true-HD version of any of these shows because neither HD video masters, nor film prints exist. All of these shows' blu-ray releases are upscaled SD video. Toei did the best they could with these releases, but given the sources available, the up-converted video looks pretty bad.

In actuality, all of the Showa shows have the potential -- as long as the film prints haven't been destroyed or neglected to the point of decay -- to look far, far better than Agito-through-Blade could ever hope to look.

Everything from Hibiki onward is shot on -- and mastered to -- 1080p HD video. I believe they switched to a RED camera set-up for these series, but don't quote me on that. Those blu-ray releases should look great. Whether they look better than the HD 16mm film transfers of older shows depends on your personal taste (i.e., whether you like film grain or whether you like super clean, sharp HD video). I, personally, prefer the HD remasters from film, as they look more cinematic.

Upscale or not, there is no way Blade can look worse than its DVD counterpart.

It actually does make a difference on Black, I found a Chinese sub of the BDs on Black that I downloaded just to see it and Played it right next to the English Sub one I have and there is a huge difference. It's much clearer and brighter. (Well I'm going to go blind from these lol.)

This is more a question about raws than subs, but here goes...

I've recently started watching Kamen Rider Agito, found a torrent of Gomenrider's subs for it, downlaoded and watched away. But now I have stumbled upon another torrent batch of the show using the same subs over raws at 60fps.

Is there any improvement in quality on these to make it worthwhile watching the 60fps versions instead?

BTW, Turn Up Scrubs have nearly finished their Blade scrub. As of writing, the guy has done up to episode 43 and it should be done by next week.

Hey, is there any batch torrents available for all of the stuff KITsubs has done or do I really have to just scroll through their countless number of pages to get every Kamen Rider file they have done so far? Especially the completed ones like Stronger and Amazon?

KIT has no batches that I know of. I checked on nyaa and am not seeing any batches. There was talk of redoing the early episodes of Stronger that MCS's first translator did before disappearing and maybe the plan was to do batches after that, but that was back when KIT was able to follow a release schedule. No idea when/if that'll happen now.

Amazon was done by Hi No Tori, not KITsubs. There is a batch torrent up on nyaa.se right now. Looks like it was just put up a couple days ago and has a few seeders.

ok has anyone checked out orenge lion fan subs cause i just noticed them on nyaa.se while downloading the episodes from OT and decided to download ep 2 and 3 of ghost from orenge lion can some tell me if they are good

The only major difference between Over-Time and Orangelion is that Orangelion uses honorifics and has a few colored text fonts. The only notable difference in translation I've noticed in episode 1 is Takeru's lines about his beliefs. I have a feeling these lines are context based hence the difference.
From what I've seen (just episode 1 of both), they are both fine. I just go with OT's subs because they are a bit faster.

I will definitely grab a batch when/if they put one up. Blade is a series that desperately needed a redo.

I just found this out by accident. Wow, they were quick because I just downloaded the first 43 last week and was expecting them to not have 44 out for another week, if not longer.

I know the guy was doing it every 1-2 days, I wish a lot of scrubbers did that. Plus he's also done Blade vs Blade and now he's working on the movie.
