...I like it. :(

It's getting the same hatred Teen Titans Go gets, except without the bitching on the animation/design. Quote:
Spider-Man (80's) Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends Spider-Man (90's) Spider-Man Unlimited Spider-Man (MTV, think it was called "The New animated series" or something, not sure, too lazy to verify) Spectacular Spider-Man Ultimate Spider-Man We're currently on Ultimate (Note: Didn't include the live action CBS or NBC or whoever the hell made it series or Supaidahman) And Big Mac, should we obey you? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0QHw7iy1Rg |
I love it. All politcal speeches would be about apples, and only a total of three words long. I'm printing banners.

I think it's fine if taken in short bursts. |
I love it too.
But we're in the minority. |
all i got to say is "The Tick"

However, it's one of the shows that I've been keeping in permanent limbo out of fear of it aging poorly. :lol |

Oh, another cartoon I particularly enjoyed was Clerks: The Animated Series :p

I've been revisiting Batman Beyond since someone started uploading episodes online. It's a show I use to watch on and off growing up, so I don't really have a lot of nostalgia for the series. Man the show can pretty dark..even for a Batman cartoon. |
I have tons of nostalgia for Batman Beyond.
It's freaking awesome. |

Yeah. Terry's rogues gallery isn't anywhere near as large or memorable's as Bruce's (Off the top of my head, I can only really name Inque and Blight).
But like I said earlier, it seems like DC really doesn't want to continue the series. Outside of a handful of non-canon comics, and the (VERY) rare cameo appearances, Batman Beyond has just stagnated, which is unfortunate because there's a lot of potential in it. |
I see your Batman Beyond, and I raise you The Ghost who Walks.

Will I obey the Mac? No, but I may consider his point of view. |
It might just be because they were what I watched growing up, but all the 90s Marvel cartoons are my favourites. Fantastic Four, X-Men, Iron Man, Hulk (less so, but I enjoyed the episodes which had Doctor Doom, Ghost Rider and Doctor Strange in) and especially Spider-Man. I have MASSIVE love for the Spider-Man show, so much I can even look past all the censor issues. Just wish it hadn't ended on a massive cliffhanger.
Spectacular Spider-Man I could never get into when it started, but something I really need to go back and rewatch. I dropped Ultimate Spider-Man near the tail end of season 1, not because I disliked it but because I just wasn't keeping up. I think I'd enjoy that series a lot more if it didn't have all the side heroes in it. X-Men Evolution was another one I couldn't get into. I hated the early episodes, but then caught a few that were on towards its end run and they seemed a lot better. It's still not something I want to go back and watch particularly though. Wolverine & the X-Men seemed a lot better, but I can't really get behind Wolverine in that sort of role. |
i did enjoy batman beyond or batman of the future in the uk but now s days dc has made cannon comic for terry
|
Batman of the Future was such an awful name. I don't understand what could be remotely confusing about "Batman Beyond".

1. The X-Men are almost EVERYWHERE at once in their comics. They can be space voyaging or time-traveling or dimension hopping or doing all 3 at the same damn time. When the TV series tried to emulate this, I really lost it, especially when Bishop and Cable came around. 2. For whatever reason, Wolverine becomes the catalyst for almost ever major storyline. Which is why I liked Evolution a lot better, especially in regards to the Brotherhood. They made Avalanche cool. |

I remember this one. But I think I preferred Biker Mice and Swat Kats more. |
Do you guys feel like someone should take a chance and try to animate a series from Western franchises not known for having such animation media? Magic The Gathering could use a couple of standalone short movies to give it some ground against the anime/card game titan that is Vanguard.
And I've always wondered why during the Lord of the Rings craze, no studio was ambitious enough to try and animate some Sword and Sorcery cartoons. They could easily farm Forgotten Realms for some inspiration. Also I am a little disappointed at how an American company like BioWare chose to have a Japanese studio write and animate two of their films. Dragon Age Legend of the Seeker was weak sauce, and I haven't heard anything about the Mass Effect one. Now let me clarify, I know for a fact that even Western studios outsource their animation to be done in Asia. These days, Korea seems to be the most common destination for both American and Japanese studios. Where its animated isn't really the issue. Its the style and tone I am usually referring to. |
I largely skimmed over this thread because there were a lot of posts made while I was gone but:
I love the Ben 10 Franchise, considering the opening series was a goofball comedy and the current landscape of children's entertainment on TV I was impressed by how mature a show this show turned into. Although the animation hasn't aged that well, I love X-Men Evolution. I dunno something about superpowers and high schools, I just really like the concept and I honestly couldn't tell you why. Also, was never really a big fan of Swat Kats as a kid and I'm not now as an adult really either. |

I'm just not an X-Men fan. It always seemed so eclectic, so...Out there. It just never made any sense to me. While I watched the cartoons, none of them won me over.
Oh, and the Fantastic Four cartoon did introduce me to my favorite Marvel hero, the Ghost Rider, so I must thank it for that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hx8ob0BAkOs While that's the Ketch version, and I'm more of a Blaze fan, I still love Ghost Rider all the same. |

Never watched Mystic Knights.
Reboot, on the other hand, was awesome. I loved that show. |
I'm not sure if this goes here but I loved (and still do) Thunderbirds. The characters were good, and the vehicles were awesome. Not to mention some of the plots.

Both DC & Marvel Comics have put forth some excellent entires but I'd have to say THIS is probably my favorite Western cartoon to date:

I was never big on the Thunderbirds, but I did like the vehicles.
Except like, Thunderbird 5, which was a space station or something... I never really got into Symbiotic Titan, unfortunately... |
Thunderbirds was the best :D I loved Stingray and Captain Scarlet too.
|
Thunderbirds is a live action show using puppets, so doesn't really count:p
