The thing I am more interested in is if they will keep all the established canon of the expanded universe.

Not that I mind, as long as the movies are intact I'm okay. |
Maybe we get multiple versions of the same events like with clone wars :lol

Yeah, I know I quoted this panel before. I don't care. :p |
Have we established how much I love Scarlet Spider? Because I wrote a poem about Kaine Parker, the Scarlet Spider.
The Ballad of Kaine Parker From the minute I was born, Rising from my pod, A scarred copy of a man, I was told that I was a failure. My father cast me into the rain, A broken toy, A knock-off of a better one, And named me after the first murderer. (Spelled with a “K” instead of a “C,” Along with an additional “E,” Because it was the ’90s, Wen pour litrasee wuz kewl.) It was a legacy I did not disappoint. An uncle I never had, From memories I never owned, Told someone who wasn’t me, “With great power, there must also come great responsibility.” All of the power. None of the responsibility. But my brother taught me to embrace his words, And he died following them By saving Peter Parker. It was a fate that I shared. But not for long. I was buried as a man. I was awakened as a spider. My father found me, And took me in, Proud to see me embrace my true self. Parker, my brother, saved me, And I saved the city. They needed a killer. He gave me a costume that could turn invisible. That’s what I wanted to do—disappear. Go to Mexico, Drink margaritas, And stick my feet in the sand. But I found a girl in a box, Swimming silently in a sea of slave corpses. (Did I just say something poetic?) She was followed by some crazy jackass with literal firepower, And next thing you know, I’m Houston’s own superhero. Yippity-fucking-do. They want a monster as a hero. I was born to kill, Only good for killing. Not like my brothers. They were men who dreamed of being spiders. I was a spider who dreamed of being a man. And yet... I found people I could care about, Who I cared about. People who could care about me, Who cared about me. Houston called me by Ben’s name. My brother’s name. I don’t deserve it, But it’s mine, And I have to live up to it. I lived a life of rage. Of fear. Of hate. Of death. A life without responsibility. But now I have a second chance. Maybe I can learn to be a man. My name is Kaine. Sometimes, there’s a Parker at the end of it. I’m the Scarlet Spider. And it’s time I started living. |

With strange comic stunts like this I've learnt to just laugh it off. You have to have a sense of humor when stupid things happen and let creators know what works and what doesn't. KRX, your prays have been answered. |

Okay, I guess you want my thoughts on this. After more than a year of complaining, more than a year of nerd-rage, more than a year of hurt feelings, how do I feel about the return of The Amazing Spider-Man? I'm pretty sure this is a flashback series. Dan Slott doesn't seem to have finished up with OctoPeter, and I don't think he will be for a few years. Or at least, if he's going to go the route that everyone thinks he will (Peter returns to find his life in ruins), I don't think he should. My main problem with The Superior Spider-Man isn't that Peter Parker isn't Spider-Man. My main problem is that the Spider-Man that replaced him is not a hero. I think, objectively, The Superior Spider-Man is a good comic. It has an engaging story, interesting side-characters, and a very nice sense of unpredictability. My one gripe (aside from Humberto Ramos's artwork) is that I can't get behind Doctor Octopus as a hero. Yes, crime has gone down thanks to his efforts as Spider-Man, a lot more than what Peter accomplished. But he does not honor the code of Spider-Man. That lesson, which Peter gave to him with his dying breath? It's rendered naught in five issues. The responsibility that comes with the power? Otto doesn't have that. He only has his arrogant displays. I can only think of one instance in which I could get behind him as a hero, and that was when he performed surgery on that little girl. With all of that, one would think that I'd want Peter back immediately, right? With the direction the story seems to be going in right now, I think Slott should wait a bit. I would love to have Peter back. But I think the best way for him to come back would be to have Otto give Peter his life back. Otto needs to make the choice, not because of his arrogance, but because it's the heroic thing to do. In a story where a villain becomes a hero, the best way to end it would be to have the hero make the heroic choice. Otto took up the mantle of Spider-Man because of his desire to make Peter Parker inferior, not a newfound sense of responsibility. Otto has yet to learn what it means to be a hero. His story should end with that. Then I can say that, even though I complained about it over and over and over again, in the end, Otto Octavius's stint as Spider-Man was worthwhile. |
Can't belive I'm saying this but I've enjoyed some of the Superior Spider-Man comics I've read. I have been VERY out of the loop with comics and hated the idea of Doc Ock as Spidey but yea color me impressed. Peter's "return" is inevitable but for now the ride for Superior from what I've seen, has been decent.

I debated putting this in the video games thread or here, but I think it fits better here.
Lego Marvel Superheroes is hands down the best Marvel game I've ever played. This game is AMAZING in its scale! The whole island of Manhattan is open for your open ended-roaming and you have a huge library of characters to play with. This video alone shows you the potential of how awesome it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxtFmAB7Obo And that's not even including the rich lore this game is built on. The designers have clearly shown their work, with numerous references to both the Marvel movies and the comics, along with a ton of pop-culture references. Basically, any character that Marvel Studios has licensed in movies gets the movie version (Iron man, Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye, Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D.) while those that haven't been licensed use the comic versions (Spider-man, X-men, Fantastic Four). With all their homework done, the developers have crafted a surprisingly exciting adventure that takes place all over famous Marvel locales, including but not limited to:
And many more that I would rather not spoil here. It's not perfect (some control issues), but I've not had this much fun in a Marvel game in a long time, and I highly recommend Lego Marvel Superheroes to any Marvel fan (unless you really hate the movies, because they take a lot of inspiration from them). |

I have no idea why people hate Spider-Island. The main story itself was awesome, and the tie-ins were unintrusive but interesting.

How do you all feel about Wolverine's new costume?

Looks like I'll have to convince my dad to subscribe to this comic. And Ms. Marvel. And probably The Amazing Spider-Man, depending on the twist that Dan Slott was talking about. Quote:

Read Issue 14 of the indestructible Hulk and man I´m stoked about the next issue (yeah I know I´m behind a few months xD).
This Series is the biggest surprise for me that came out of Marvel Now and Waid is kicking ass with every issue just like he does on Daredevil. Everyone with a passing interest in the green goliath should check it out its great stuff. |

And 2: Carol Danvers, Sharon Ventura, Karla Sofen or Kamala Khan? I'm guessing Kamala. |

2. Kamala Khan, who will be the head of the title starting in February. |

Also, what's your overall review of Kamala's Ms. Marvel? I've been meaning to ask you that. |

But I think I deserve to be a comic-book superhero. Come on, Marvel. I'm a Pakistani-American whose last name is "Khan." I can totally be her cousin! YOU KNOW YOU WANT ME! |
Got around to read the last five parts of Battle of the Atom.
This event-crossover-thingy was far too long. The ending was really disappointing and pretty lackluster. Most of the thing could have been cut especially Woods Issues of X-Men who pretty much did nothing to further the overall storyline. The Art in the last Issue was also pretty bad for the most time except for the scenes with the two cyclopses,Jean and Xorn and the last few pages wich were amazingly done by Stuart Immonen. The cliffhanger at the end was pretty cool but as I mentioned before it was pretty lackluster overall and I think the whole thing would have worked alot better if it was only done between All New X-Men and Uncanny X-Men. By the way I so wanna see a Iceman basketball team now :lol |

And I would love to read a comic written by you. |

And thank you. :D Quote:
That doesn't happen to me enough. I get more "We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto" jokes than that one. |
And there I was sitting reading Iron Man #17 and thinking to myself "Man I never would have guessed that there would come a time were a comic book twist could actually surprise me...in a godd way."
I really wanna see what they do now that we know Tony Stark was adopted and his parents had another child they have kept hidden all those years |
I cant believe it took me this long to get that the second Superior Spider-Man costume is an hommage to the old Ben Reilly outfit xD

Good catch :lol
Could be inspired by both of them since OckSpidey also has those metal things on his wrists like Ben does. |
So it seems Marvel is at last moving forward with a "Doctor Strange" film for Phase 3 of their Cinematic Universe.
And the first actor (allegedly) approached? Johnny Depp. |
Claremont is apparently going to do a Nightcrawler ongoing

If Depp really would get the part I hope that who ever directs the film manages to make him drop his Jack Sparrow style of acting.
I really like old school Johnny Depp but in the last 10 years he never stopped playing Jack Sparrow. |

I just finished the All New X-men vol.1 TP by Bendis & Immonen. It's an interesting read, good story, with mostly good characterisation ("mostly" because Iceman is annoying), beautiful art. Just the feeling that Bendis is stretching the storytelling to its limit, 5 issues in this TP, could have been told in only 2.
Looking forward for vol.2. |
Bruce Timm is partly drawing All New X-Men #25.
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...ticle&id=50320 I am totally losing it right now :lol |
