So I'm still really struggling with that chick at work, I'm still completely unable to differentiate between her being a lovely person in general, and being specifically lovely to me. Plus I still can't really work out when my feelings stop, and reality starts, which catches me in an awkward catch 22. I don't want to misread things and land myself in a mess, but I don't want to assume there is nothing going on either and push her away or miss my chance.

That's certainly a conundrum. I'm kinda sorta in a similar situation, but I suspect a lot of it is in my head.

Plus there is no real such thing as 'baseline human interaction'. Some people are very touchy feely, some people are very reserved, some people are really in your face, some people are really sly or whatever. And so because of this, it's almost impossible to gauge when a person is simply being themselves and when they are giving a sign. Unless you know them on a deeply personal level, but if that was the case you would either be dating already or have been long since friendzoned.

I believe it is time for the age old solution, flip a coin.

So my crush liked the sandwich I made her, and when we were lifting things for the show, I kept getting them for her. And when she was all like "I don't have any muscles...but I have other qualities!" I told her "yeah, you're sweet, funny, and adorable." And then she made the goofiest smile >_<. *heart beating too fast*

Me too bro. I'm too scared of consequences, so I can never take that first step. I've had a fair amount of girlfriends in my time, but none of those in the past required me to leap into the dark and just hope there isn't a fifty foot drop coming.

And I'm guessing now I'm no longer in controlled environments like you get all the way up through education, every relationship will have to now start with the leap in the dark I'm not willing to make.

Well, I've had a friend since about sixth grade. We have always gotten along. Both the same inside out, with only a few differences, mostly in the emotional personality and personal interests department. For a while, I've liked her, and I have told her. She's even said she likes me back. However anytime I try to put effort into attempting to take her out and what not, she's either busy or isn;t sure if she's able to or not. And it's one of those things to where I'm like "Is it even worth trying anymore?"

I can't really decide if I should give it one last big shot, or just carry on as being friends.

I'd say it's worth it, you two know about each other feelings so even if things don't go as planned you'll be able to remain friends.
Give it a try the two of you deserve it. :)
