I decided awhile back I was gonna work my way through the entire series.. I finished MMPR, Alien Rangers and I'm now working through Zeo.. MMPR is just classic and Alien Rangers was god awful.. So far I'm digging Zeo it was a step up from the last couple episodes in Season 3 of MMPR..

I'm up to the end of Wild Force(granted I skipped the first 6 as I had no real connection to them, and didn't wanna watch over like 200 episodes) So after that I have ninja storm.

Checking out Dino Thunder on Netflix. Its actually better than I remember.

Hope the Abaranger subs keep up at a regular pace; I really want to see the whole story behind Whacker Wilson on the boardwalk.

Dino Thunder is actually pretty decent up until Trent's story is "Resolved" (Quotes since his story arc just ends when he joins the good guys before being briefly brought up for one last occasion). After that, it just kind of stagnates until the finale.

Yeah it's really kinda sad, because the first half of Dino Thunder is great but the second half sucks so bad.

I don't remember the second half all that well. I remember liking what I saw recently on Nicktoons, though.

Yeah everything the show works so hard to set up just completely fizzles out and then the whole show falls to pieces.

Now I'm scared to go back and watch it. My childhood will forever be ruined. :lol

Honestly the sad reality is very few Power Rangers shows hold up, at least for me, now I'm an adult. Like stuff like In Space or Lost Galaxy are both ambitious and admirable compared to what we get these days....but they are still really quite bad. And it's kinda a shame to realise that, as I have such fond memories as a child.

Same here. It sucks, since I've heard the only one that truly holds up is RPM.

RPM actually got me back into Power Rangers after I'd "grown out of it", which is why I can thankfully say it stands on its own two feet very well. I'd argue so does Mystic Force, Ninja Storm, Time Force and Jungle Fury too as I've revisited all of those as an adult, and enjoyed all of them immensely. Everything else I've revisited as an adult ranges from nostalgic, to downright terrible but most of the franchise is just sorta 'meh'.

The thing is, while shows like Lost Galaxy and SPD really aren't that good, I can still enjoy them. On a quality level, they're nothing special, but they're ambitious, and I enjoy seeing a series that's pretty infamous for giving Mega Man a run for his money in terms of stagnation, and trying to change things up.

It's why I enjoyed Turbo despite it not being a very good series. Everything was changed once the former rangers left. They no longer had Billy to provide one off gadgets to save the day. They no longer had Zordon to tell them of secret super weapons when they were having trouble. They weren't all super martial artists who could kick down a wall unmorphed. They weren't the superfriends, and when the chips were down, they had to work for their wins.

Sideswipe, I'm pretty sure you can rewatch Dino Thunder and enjoy it if you focus on what it handled right, and not what it screwed up.

The only good thing about SPD was Sky, probably one of the best Rangers ever and one of the best examples of Power Rangers character writing through the whole franchise.

I liked the majority of the SPD cast, honestly. It was nice and they worked off each other well.

What held me back more was the ridiculously inconsistent tone it felt like two teams with completely different visions of the show were writing it at once.

Yeah, it was a problem, but I guess it just didn't phase me as much.
The biggest failing for me was Grumm, since he just didn't seem to work. A villain sitting in a doom fortress just doesn't gel when your heroes are supposed to be cops.

I know some people say that Time Force was good but after marathoning through it, the editing wasn't the best at all, but I want some thing to represent them on my shelves.

Now the story was good and Wes is a better red than Troy, Jayden, Lauren and overall I can't see where people are getting that it's the best, but it was good.

Hey guys, finally contemplating whether or not to watch Super MegaForce...very adamant about it though...I'm big on continuity/consistency and deep storylines in TV shows (unless non-canon), what should I know about it structurally-wise before I dive into it?

If you like continuity, consistency, good stories, quality, even a semblance of professionalism or at least the most basic of functionality...Super Megaforce isn't for you.

Super Megaforce "Earth Fights Back"

So...this was pretty boring all things considered :lol

Troy spying on some bad guys then fighting them a little. The Rangers hanging around in the Mall goofing around intead of trying to look for the bad guys or try to master their new powers.

I know they are supposed to be "normal Teenagers" but even in MMPR we saw them train their Martial Arts skills pretty much every damn episode. I liked the way they implemented the Sentai footage but that doesnt help if the story you are telling is so incredibly boring and uneventful.

The worst thing in this show though is not even the bad acting (even though its pretty bad) but the really bad dubbing of the fight scenes. It doesnt even matter if its american footage or japanese footage it just doesnt ound right. You never get the impression that the voice is coming from the person wearing the suit.
I alway felt it came off like some random Person talking off screen while someone else is fighting. It just isnt natural when someone just shouts stuff into a microphone instead of trying to match the tone of your voice to the body language of the suit actor. Also why the hell is Troy shouting "HA!" when he fires a gun? Is it really that exhauting for him to pull a trigger? :lol

The bit were they went into space fighting the Armada felt really really weird. Why exactly couldnt they do this at the end of the last Episode? It would had fit perfectly there. Here it just comes off as an afterthought so they could use the footage they had laying around.

So yeah this was not very good. There is alot in this show that ha potential but it also has far too many things that keep it from really being a good show.

Titanium shows up here for the first time.
Guess the Lightspeed Security team thought being underwater was enough security as the thief just sort of strolled through the base. And Captain Mitchell should have locked his desk and his door.
Also liked how the scientist present at the titanium test all wore safety goggles, just in case Carter exploded or something.
Wished they had given Titanium another episode or two of mystery before the reveal at the end.

So far this has been a pretty solid series. I think production and acting wise a step up from Lost Galaxy which I enjoyed.
Except for Vypra. Sweet midriff aside, she's a pain to watch.

On my quest to watch every power ranger series(starting at Lightspeed Rescue) I have made it Dino Thunder. One thing that kinda bugs me. How in the world do they make Mesogog's makeup work? I mean the whole mouth thing, and what not. Geez.

Also, Disney seemed to make great stories for the most part. And their attention to detail is great. Not only do they have a whole wall of DNA specimens, but every time they make a new monster, the specimen jars get changed to match the monster. Now, that is awesome.

I was just Watching my shout factory MMPR dvds and during ep "Yolks on You" im 90% sure Amy Joe almost let a F bomb slip during her intro dialogue for the zord summon.

Any one else catch this?

Dino Thunder 31: Thunder Storm Part 1

I still find it odd that Cassidy is played by the same actress as Mara. I mean, they couldn't find anyone different? Just a thought. Even in the team up they are still there. The only difference is Mara is a brunette. So yeah. Just seems odd.

Now on SPD. Seems great so far. I must say, I only seen a few scenes of Dekaranger and I already like SPDs Doggie Kruger much better.

Me again? Hmm. Anyway up to Once a Ranger, and eh, like all of Operation Drive is. But I love me some Bridge. They didn't really say he came from the Future, but I guess the Sentinel Knight can pull some crazy magic. But the Ranger Wiki says Bridge wasn't born yet in that time period, but he said in the Dino Thunder team up in 2004, he wanted to go see himself being born, meaning he was born in 2004, and thus 21 in SPD. I don't know why Ranger Wiki wouldn't specify this.

Now to Jungle Fury. I saw what I thought I'd never see in Original Footage, body squibs. Usually they use digital sparks. But for Master Fin they used body squib sparks. Quite surprised I was.

Just started watching RPM, now I see what the fuss is all about... IT'S NOT SPANDEX!

So i finally found silver lining part 2 and i'm up to date on megaforce.
...Maybe it's the lack but i actually found the jokes funny.

So I've been watching Season 2 of MMPR, and I learned why I totally love Adam again, I also am starting to like Rocky more too. However Zedd is totally the biggest troll ever! I swear oh the Rangers like this? Well fuck that I have to mess with whatever they are up to, screw taking over the world or killing them. Sheesh he is totally ridiculous.

Like my brother before me posted, MMPR Season 2. I love it. I have a new respect for Bulk and Skull. I haven't found any love for Aisha. Tommy is still my favorite but I do know why Adam was my 2nd favorite.

Also watched Time Force, enjoy Wes and Jen. Lucas has been alright. Not enjoying Tripp and Katie hasn't done anything since episode 1. I am only on episode 9 I think. Anyways, I am enjoying it and will be watching more!

Time Force gets better. Trust me! :D

I've been rewatching random episodes to try to get back into Power Rangers.

It has been getting better, except for Eric...they did not know what to do with him I feel. He didn't like the rich but Wes was always trying to be his friend. Even when Wes left his money behind it's still not good enough for Eric. It just makes no sense.

The Q Rex...should be cool, but just isn't for me. It's too bulky. Also why does Gokai Silver's zord look like two part Time Ranger and one part Abaranger. The "Dragonzord" part does not look like Zyuranger but like Timeranger...gah...
