So I watched the trailer and I like much better than Zedd killing a young female girl.
I also like you two chaps better than Dom or whatever his name is. Though I don't think either of you should speak for him, especially if this is supposed to be "for the fans." The new trailer is good, but uh... kinda all over the place. I hope there's some better clarity down the line when the episode is released. I still don't like the direction it's going, I don't think Power Rangers needs to be mature, as the campiness and whatnot make it what it is, but I'll continue watching to see what unfolds. |

I won't speak for Dom, nor will I try to defend him to anyone who's never met him. I don't mean that in a bad way, but why should I bother? If you don't actually know someone and you've made a decision about what type of person they are, how is someone else that you don't actually know going to change your opinion? I'll leave that at that. I honestly never read the first trailer as Zedd having killed the girl....I always read it as she screamed because he ripped her doll's head off. As for the teaser, there's only so much you can do with it. You're making a minute and a half trailer for a fifteen minute episode...so showing the audience roughly 8% of the total film without showing them too much can be a bit of a challenge. In regards to the mature aspect of it, as I said, everyone will have their opinion. While I agree completely that the campiness is a huge part of Power Rangers to this point, we have been promoting it as a "reimagining". If we were just going to make a fan film of what's been done already, I'd probably just pull out of the project. What would be the point? The people who want to see that already have it. However, there is a large group who have always wanted to see something like what we're doing, and this gives them that opportunity, while not taking anything away from those who love it just the way it is. It's not for everybody. And that's cool. But our intention is to provide something that hasn't been done, or not on a bigger scale at least, to a large group of people who have wanted to see it...not to force people who love what they already have to watch something that they have no interest in. That being said...I'm glad that you're giving it a chance. Let's be honest...worst thing that can happen...you don't like it and you lost 15 minutes of your life. What we're doing is not saving lives....we're making movies, trying to entertain as many people as we can, and hopefully the folks who don't like it will just do what I would do...watch the version I prefer or watch both. Thanks again for the post! |

Discovered today that "RedRangerDonMoney" was paid by the creator of MMPR Film to post positive things here at TokuNation and on another forum.
Your entire production can't have a class action lawsuit filed against you fast enough. |

Would love to know where you "discovered this". Because I'll say it right here and now. It's an outright lie. OUTRIGHT lie. |

How come the actual show doesn't have blood and gore while this does?
|
Because this is an independent production. Indies tend to skew the lines of official properties for their own individual views and interests.
Plus, Power Rangers is a children's television show. It doesn't, and shouldn't, require blood. |

i can say this i did post 3 video regarding the project and one was vlog and update what was happening from the director. sorry for his loses on losing his mother.

That being said, I think people who had a fear that we were going to do a "Power/Rangers" type film, or feared that we were taking Power Rangers to a terrible place that a children's show shouldn't go, are going to be pleasantly surprised when the episode finally arrives. |

Because people don't want their shows to get axed after half an episode. |

This one so far has only two twins talking to a cop who are supposed to be the Yellow and Pink Rangers respectively. 2 years and 40 grand for this shit. Something that took probably an hour tops to film. Yep. I get it's the "first episode" but people paid money to watch something besides a scene from Law and Order with ridiculously over-the-top bad acting. Like KB, I'm done with this. |

For starters - this is a community website that allows discussion on a large variety of topics except for a minor few - politics, religion, etc. We like to keep things civil around here and promote healthy discussion. In the end, we're all like-minded individuals who have a passion for a hobby/genre of entertainment that brings us together, forges lifetime friendships, and gives us memories that we can hold on to forever. That's what makes THIS place special. Regarding the production that you've been involved in. Your director pissed all over this fan community - whether it be drunken postings where he told the very fans you market this to at RangerBoard (the largest Power Rangers community online) that "they don't matter in the end", to causing enough of an issue that discussion is disallowed at every major Power Rangers fan community board except this one. I even tried to set up an interview with your embattled director. To the point that I would let him choose which questions he wanted to be asked because I wanted to give him a chance to clear the air for the fact that the rest of the Power Rangers community can't stand him. "He's hard at work in production!" I was told. "He'd love to - let's communicate a time that works!" I was told. Ironically a couple more E-mail attempts would result in nothing - not even from your good buddy who was trying to be the liaison. In fact, he simply disappeared off the face of the Earth here while discussing the film with potential fans. Your production took $43,000+ from fans with deadlines and promises. Once the money was paid, everything changed - it went from "film" to "web series" to "one episode". You're almost two years past the end of the Kickstarter with two trailers since the Kickstarter ended and nothing else to show for it with an original deadline that is over a year past due. Perhaps my initial reaction was harsh to the revelation made to me by a good source (who I will not name out of journalistic integrity). But it wasn't posted as a "news story", it wasn't blasted across the Internet on social media. It's a comment on a message forum. You want to wave around the word libel that's fine - I'll wave around the word fraud (you know, the whole "paying for a product that was not delivered on time or as originally advertised" bit). At the end of the day - this is my website, my forum, made up of individuals who volunteer their time for a hobby that they are passionate about. If you'd like to throw around your critiques on how we should do things here - by all means hit me up, send me a private message, look me up on social media - I'm very easy to find. You and I can scream at each other until we're both blue in the face. So I appreciate your understanding of why I would be personally pissed off if "I discovered" through a legitimate source that what I thought was an individual here on good will was only here because they were getting compensated and everything discussed was nothing more than lip service. Wouldn't you? For what it's worth - I enjoyed your accent in the latest release. Is it genuine? |
Quote:
As to my accent in the short, I do have a natural Brooklyn accent, however, as an acting exercise for myself, and as a wink to the fandom, I greatly exaggerated the accent and my performance, as a little mini tribute to the type of acting on the show over the years. I tried to walk a line between the more reality based world we're trying to create, while not robbing the die hards of the "over the top" acting they've come to know on the show. I'll leave it to you guys whether I was successful or not. I have to get to bed because I have to be on set first thing in the morning. But I will check back, and will answer any questions I can in regards to the project. All I ask, is that the accusations stop. I can assure you, no matter how reliable you think your source is, they're not as reliable as me. |

Are you really that inexperienced with children? Clearly you never had a little boy at home who catched a Horror-movie by accident and then couldn’t sleep for a whole week without someone guarding his room until he was asleep. I'm all for cartoons/children shows being intelligent and somewhat tackle more adult things for children to think about, but blood & gore is something no kid should see. If someone get's scratched by a monster and has bloody claw-marks that bleed a little, no big deal. But when I hear "blood & gore" I think of the hardcore stuff, and that's definitely nothing that children should see in their media. And for that matter, rolling up franchises that were intended for children and just tune up the violence and stupidity (Bayformers) to appeal towards teenagers and adults is just stupid. A realistic approach can work, but in the end you always lose what made these things special in the first place. |
Too little too late.
It just took too long, all of the money was wasted and Dom seems like a negative or anti version of Saban. I was afraid at one point of the M.M.P.R. fan film and Kickstarter campaign was nothing more than a ripoff, and now I know that it is indeed a ripoff. Jason David Frank and his family could do a 1,000% better fan film with a release date that doesn't change multiple times, with or without the support of Haim Saban. So why don't we all just stop talking about something that no longer matters and is a complete waste of time and talk more about a real Power Rangers movie that will be coming out in 2017 or the Zordon of Eltar fan film because they are the truly the only ones that matter until 2020with a possible sequel to the 2017 film. Sorry Dumb Dom, but nobody cares about you nor your M.M.P.R. fan film project anymore, no matter if you believe that or not.

Did you just tell people to stop talking about a subject in the thread for it that hasn't had a post in almost a year?
Pretty sure we've all moved on, dude. |
Man, for a second I was curious if some new development had just popped up, too :lol
Damn. |
