Well, those are helmets, and mechs wearing helmets are a dime a dozen these days. Gokai has the pirate hat and Magiking is rocking the witch hat.

OhBlocker has a football helmet...

Dairen-Oh has a samurai helmet.

Anyway, GokaiOh's toy looks weird to me because of the lack of hands. I don't know what, but I feel that is the main thing most of these mech toys lack, hands. That is one of the reasons I really love the SRCs, especially the Daizyujin I have. I know they have to mold whatever the toy has to the shape as if it has fingers, but that doesn't really work for me. As I said previously, I like things to look show accurate, especially when fully combined, so the lack of regular hands has always bothered me.

I started watching sentai when this series came out. Love this mecha.

Gokai Galleon is the most appealing zord! I like to see Toys r Us pick these up here in the US.

I guess I've found out what the big hot button topic is. Sentai robots bring out some pretty strong feelings in folks. :lol

I don't think they will only for the fact that they would have to release the aux stuff too.When they released Shinken-Oh for the US,it made sense.Sure it had aux zords,but it was also good on its own.

If you wanna be technical, Time Robo doesn't quite have the Volron-Oh formula, since the legs also form the thighs and even a bit of the crotch. Most Voltron-Oh legs only form the shins and feet.

Ah, now that we've seen the Legendary Megazord, I think I would much rather have Gokai-oh although I was disappointed that there was no final combination with all the other mechas aside from some limb swapping.

I own this and love it but I still own the legendary megazord for my love zord builder ANC thus is my only sentai mech and I love it.

Man, I'm really tempted to collect this and the American version, just to have a Zord Builder version and to have one that's just, well, awesome.

But man, those prices... maybe when income taxes come in. XD

That's because the Korean versions of Gaoranger were remakes with molds that were relatively old.

I had the same issue with mine. Anything else Korean that's fairly recent (all of Decade's role play toys, some OOOs figures) are high quality.

The Korean Gaoranger toys are a joke. They're like cheap official knockoffs made of much lower quality plastics. They were produced entirely separately from the US and Japanese production runs and suffer greatly from it.

Newer shows on the other hands don't tend to have those types of problems. As far as I'm aware Korean Gokaiger stuff is nearly identical to the BOJ releases.

Loved Gokaiger, glad to see Gokai-Oh! Not into collecting sentai mechs due to lack of articulation, but this guy looks pretty nice. Also, he's a giant pirate robot. That kicks ass. :rock:

I've been fiddling with Gokai-Oh for a little bit, I wouldn't mind a show-accurate scale model representation of Gokai Galleon.

Interesting looking zord...might have to get one.

I generally like the design on gokaioh, other than maybe some aspects of the limbs. I really enjoyed the minipla, so I don't really need another version, but I might have to pick up the BoA set.

I really like Gokai Oh, but I'm so happy with what we got in the US. I'd never be able to afford the Sentai toys, so the Legendary Megazord is a perfect substitute. This might be the best TokuNation gallery I've seen yet.

Is there anywhere that I'd be able to find the Korean Gokaiger toys? Or would Ebay be the best place to get them?

I've got 3 huge problems with DX GokaiOh. 1 is the Gokai vehicles in general. They serve no purpose in the show outside of this combination and an appearance in the Machalcon episode. 2 is the simple transformations resulting in a Voltron-esque limb combination, and it's an issue I've had with a lot of recent combinations. And 3 the gimmick renders all the components overly chunky, hollow boxes. Especially because all the add-on pieces have to fit inside and the covers close while the show itself could fudge it with CGI. Double especially since the gimmick never seems to work. Either doors get stuck or stuff doesn't spring out right.

I love the look of GokaiOh and all his pirat-y goodness. The golds and blacks help break up the monochrome limbs and give him a distinct look. So in the end I would recommend the MiniPla (though the fact that there had to be 2 separate releases is another issue that irks me) or the SRC figure if you don't need the (meager) transformation over the DX figure.

I see them on Ebay all the time, so I;d say get them from there.

It always did bother me how the individual vehicles never made sense in context with the show. As fun as the opening gimmick seems, the hanging doors for the combinations end up as robot kibble; magidragon is my least favourite because of this, it looked bad as a toy and in the show.

I'd still get one though because I'm a sucker for the overall aesthetic. To be honest, I wouldn't mind picking up BoA's version and making something 'showy' of it.

Currently saving to get mine. I really want to make little cannon balls to fill the inside of the limbs with since I don't plan on getting any of the Gokai Machines.

If only that thing wasn't so hard to find as well as being too expensive. Ah well, it still is one awesome looking toy though.
Also, it made me wish that they could have added the likes of the Varivroom, some selected Goseiheaders, a holographic Super LiveRobo, ect.
Ah well,a person can dream, right?

It's really amazong how much detail they put on the individual mechs, considering they were never really used outside of Gokai Oh in the actual show. The US version of this one, however... :/
