I finally watched that episode. Gotta say, it's the best one to date!!! Totally awesome!!!
The energy riders appearence & Hase's fate were great moments. The truth about the invess was a surprise, & I have to admit I didn't see the reveal about Yuuya coming. Keep up the good work, Toei!!! |
Despite having seen some of the twists coming, this was still an excellent episode. I really can't wait to see where the Micchy/Kouta relationship goes now. All I know is that it won't be pretty. It will also be interesting to see how Kouta even battles against the Invess, since he now knows that there is the possibility of them being human.

I feel like this episode took a real dark turn this episode. It was kind of implied through out the series but it became real apparent.

I'm curious why Locke gave this episode a 2 out of 5? Did he address any real complaints, or was he just trolling again? :)

In fact, I'm pretty sure he had the longest post in this thread... |
DAMN!!!
That is all I'm going to say outside of these three things: 1. I hope Micchy does not decide to keep what he found a secret. 2. I hope Micchy does not just blame Kouta for killing their boss when he obviously did not know he was the monster. 3. Sid is even more badass now. |
Urobutcher at his best!

Excellent episode. For a show I was completely prepared to blow off bc I hated the idea of fruit as the main theme, I have to say every week I'm chomping at the bit for that next subbed episode! Great story so far. Put anything close to this show on American tv and parents would lose their shit instantly!

Come on, technically, all of these characters are under developed.
And I honestly don't know why Locke even watches Toku. He complains about every series he watches to the point of nitpicks. I understand the annoyance of filler, but that has been part of the shows since the get go and will never end. Anime is no different, especially for year long series. Hell, if there was no filler in a single Gundam series, not Gundam series would be longer than 10 episodes, 15 at the most. Sure, I complain a lot, but my god, that dude makes my negativity look positive. |
Hey, uh, we all disagree with eachother sometimes, but there's no need to be bringing complaints about someone into an episode discussion thread.
|
Agreed, can we lay off the singling out please? Locke fairly gave his reasoning and though I personally disagree with him, his opinion is just as valid as anyone else's.
|
Especially when Locke isn't here to defend himself. That's pretty unfair to lambast him when he's not even been in the thread for ages.
Anyway, on-topic: I don't see how Hase could have been under-developed when it's clear he served his purpose in spades. He wasn't meant to be a main character or this super multi-sided personality. He was just meant to be a believable character, so we would understand the gravity of the events that transpired. He was a glorified of-the-week character given more time in advance to settle in as a "constant" rather than the sometimes eye-rollingly casual civilian deaths of older series. He was more than effective at his role, and I don't see how that could be a problem. Remember we're only 14 episodes in, just over a quater. Don't expect this to be the apex of the shock wave. |
An amazing episode. Got confused as who the energy riders were but I think I got it figured out now. Hase was a cool character and it sucks he's gone now but he wasn't my favorite so it wasn't a big deal for me. Cherry arms surpasses mango arms as my favorite after this episode. That armor is just badass.

>_> Sorry couldn't resist. |
I LOVED this episode. I can't wait for the next one. Also, Minami Tsukui can flash a scary-ass smile (see Ep 15 preview)
|
My comment was made in jest, just FYI :) <3 Locke
This episode really changes the atmosphere for the series going forward. We may end up getting an entirely different show by that point. Is that something you guys are okay with? A different show than what we started with? EDIT: Gen Urobuchi has even stated that Gaim doesn't really become a "Kamen Rider show" until after this episode. So take it for what it's worth! |

This was a great episode, I feel so bad for Hase... poor poor Hase... I love the craftyness of Micchy sneaking into Yggdrasil and I love Kouta not wanting to kill Hase in this too. Sid's a dick and so is Yggdrasil but I love how they spin doctor themselves into looking like the heroes.

I...um...wow.
Did this show just tell that ALL Inves are things that ate the fruit of Helheim? I mean accepted the fact the more advanced ones were human, but to see that even the un-evolved ones where once things from earth, just...my mind is blown. As for the Yuya truth I more or less accepted after seeing what happened to Hase at the end of 13, but to actually show the footage of Kouta defeating the Inves and then have Mitchy react in shock and actually state that Kouta killed Yuya was a narrative step I didn't expect. And for Sid being Sigurd I had expected that too(would have been surprised if is was DJ Sagara instead), but they did the reveal pretty well within the show, Ok, now that I've covered the plot revelations onto some of my other reactions. I liked Mitchy pulling his own investigating, though he got REALLY lucky that guy in the security office stepped away from his monitor while he was moving down the hall. The Energy Riders are pretty cool. It felt very anime in a good way to have them just appear and stand over the unfolding events and then just one jumps down to do the fighting. And Kouta...just Kouta. He barely even knew Hase, and he went that far for him. Regardless of how this show ends up, I can definitely say Kouta will definitely go down as one of my all time favorite Riders. |
