this sucks royally, they are skipping adapting a good sentai to now do the shitty one, UGH this sucks

Meh, I'm gonna be stubborn for no reason and say this isn't so.

If I had the boss telling me to adapt super sentai in this new order, I would look at the footage and say... hey, why don't we do Kyoryuger more or less as is (minus guns and with a few villain changes), then wait for ToQger to finish to see if merging it with Go-busters is an option.

It would certainly make sense to combine two seasons that both more or less revolve around technology, as well as being seen as less than perfect for a US audience.

You could get rid of the things that make Go-buster a failure, mine ToQger for the trains and use them as additional mechs or something and smoosh the whole thing together. That way you wouldn't have to base an ENTIRE toy line on trains that probably wont sell or on the most tanking line ever.

Definitely splits the risk don't you think? Or doubles it... I'd have to see the bottom line figures but eh.

(Sidenote: Colour changing heroes could be seen by Saban/Nick as a problem too, just saying.)

However Saban has a habit of either "pulling a megaforce" or dropping plots, suits and characters from one season altoget and using the mechs and villains (ala Dai) in a totally different adaptation. It's worked before. -shrug-

The consensus here seems to be that Green would become a girl if Saban decides to do a gender swap.

I am very excited about this. I was thinking the other day about how good the BOA Super Megaforce figures are , and how i look forward to getting the Kyoryuger versions in 2 years. ( assuming they keep the same scale )

I doubt very seriously that anybody will be gender swapped. The boys sell more and there is more boys to sell now.

Nope, SPD kept all the genders intact (unless balls of light are asexual). The last series to do a gender switch was Wild Force, where Gaoranger had a male Yellow.

I'm almost certain Saban won't want to mess around with gender swapping in this day and age, yeah. But never say never. He'll do what ever he thinks he needs to do to make the franchise work... Or drop it on someone else again for the lump sum payoff.

The usual excuses they throw out for why they adapt something the way they do is: "22 minute episode limit", or "rubbish toy line, phone it in and move on".

Candi's suit actor is indeed male... and he had that cameo in a scene too.

This would also fit the bill in using a certain percentage of the footage from each series as apparently mandated by Toei.

That sounds like fanfiction. The chances of any of that happening would be slim to none and even then, only one of those parameters would happen, not all of them.

Not really. It would look incredibly stupid as a sequel so an AU is MUCH better.

Sounds like a really neat plot and the logo looks nice. So I take it that they are doing an original villain? Or using the deboss? Kinda bummed about Gobusters if they do get to skip that season. I did like the suits but the mecha... I like the Kyoryuger and it's mecha more though so I'm happy with this news! Can't wait to see what the toys look like. I expect no electronics though since you know how Bandai USA is.

Maybe they'll use Go-Buster as the second "Super" season. Go-Busters being the super mode makes more sense as an upgrade than Kyoryuger being the super mode. Although they'd be going from 10 (mainly 6) rangers to 5. I guess they could make the spirit rangers the buddyroids..... :lol
