I still doubt we will get anything after Kakuranger. Most people stop caring about Power Rangers when Zeo or Turbo started. I think most people may not buy Ohranger and Carranger on DVD.
Since Shout! were unable to finish Big Bad Beetleborgs on DVD, I would imagine if Shout! ever release Goranger on DVD then they would only release Season 1 on DVD ;P. |

Maybe it's nostalgia speaking, but I loved Zyuranger, and have yet to find a sentai I enjoy as much. I'll buy a copy asap.
|
Do we have a confirmed release date for the DVDs?

It's lucky guess. Dairanger and Kakuranger were also used for MMPR. They can use those two to cash in on MMPR nostalgia. I doubt Ohranger and Carrnager would sell well here in the US. Maybe I'm wrong, but who knows. Even if they do somehow release the other Super Sentai shows on DVD, they might leave it unfinished if they don't sell well.

How about this: get Shinkenger and have commentaries by the PR:Samurai cast.
|
Buying this ASAP. Hope they get the rights to more SS seasons.

I wonder if we will see more info at Power Morphicon? The actor who is playing Geki will be there, so it can be a good way to promote the DVD.
|
YES! YES YES YES YES YES!
I always feel bad because I don't really buy toys (besides the occasional changer) but I watch all the sentai I can get my hands on. With this I can FINALLY support Super Sentai! And what a great (and obvious) choice for the first season to bring over |

They are wrong. There may not be an English word that means the exact same thing as "itadakimasu," but the idea behind the word is still easily expressed in English. So are honorifics and the words people use to refer to family members. |

TVN's subs for Den-O were annoying since they kept things untranslated. It's like that they want you to use Google when watching it or expect you to know it. Reminds me how Tokyo Pop was their manga where they left some things untranslated compare to Viz.

Nice... This is going to be good :)

Great! I grew up watching this in Thailand with Thai voiceover......I am fluent in Thai but only in Sentai speak. I

I prefer mecha names to be left untranslated, simply because it avoids problems like Go-Buster Oh (which translates to Go-Buster King) later getting a form actually called Go-Buster King.
Stuff like Itadekimasu needs to be translated though. "Let's eat" or "Thanks for the food!" or something similar suffices. I also am really not fond of honorifics being used in subs. |
In terms of subs for the masses, translate everything and maybe leave notes for the mecha names.
|
I rather liked GUIS's sub of the series, I hope it's done like that.
|
I can guess why some people want things untranslated because it sounds better. Most of the names for DBZ in Funimation's dubs are untranslated because their names would be equally stupid when translated to English.
If they want to keep the Mecha names in Japanese that's fine, but stuff like oniichan be translated. If they do translate the Mecha's names in English then I'm okay with it. Great Beast God still sounds cool nevertheless. |

I want to support this. But considering I don't have the money and I have not heard good things about Zyuranger, I can't support this. Maybe for Christmas if it releases then?

Whoever it is that says these supposedly bad thing about Zyuranger, I just don't get the criticism. I know it's an early 90's sentai so it's gonna have it's issue, but there are no inherent "problems" with that show.
|
Zyuranger is good in my opinion. I think people didn't like it for having annoying kids and the show didn't live up to Jetman. Jetman was awesome back in 1991 and I think fans at the time had hopes that Zyuranger would live up to it. Despite older fans not liking it, the show had better toy sales then Jetman.

Zyuranger isn't a great show, it's meh to me and out of all of the Sentai I've seen, it's the weakest. I enjoyed the ride as it happened, but looking back it isn't that great anymore. I still enjoy the show and like it enough to get the full SHF team and buy the DVD set, but when I have to think of it on a critical level, it just isn't that great and I've seen much, much better. So the criticism as a whole that I hear and read a lot is what I said, too much filler which makes the show drag on and become boring with not enough excitement going on unless it about the whole 25% of story the show has. |

This is simply my opinion though and I know you nor anybody else is bound to fully agree with me. |

That encompasses the gathering of the weapons, the birthing of Daizyujin, the introductions to Gnome, who is part of the reason Burai comes about. The introduction to the dinosaur eggs. Burai's awakening, his acquiring Dragon Ceasar, and learning about his remaining life time. Bandora's acquisition of the new clay for her monsters, Dai Satan's introduction and attack on Earth, Geki learning about Burai's peril, Geki trying to make a deal to save Burai, Burai losing his time to save a girl and her brother, recovering the dinosaur eggs, the death of Burai, and finally, Dai Satan's return with Cai and then the final battle. That is more plot than nearly everything I have seen from the 80s. Quote:

I'm not the biggest fan of Zyuranger, but it's in no way a bad series. Nor is it really a series where you should just base an opinion of hearing things. Watch it for yourself and then judge it.
