Well, it was built up tot his point, it was inevitable, it was the logic route and... boy does Kouta look silly. :lol
It was an enjoyable ending, but it also happened to go full Madoka.

With this being the main conclusion to the show, I can say it was an enjoyable ride, but not as groundbreaking as once expected.

Bring in Kouta from Kamuro/Lapis' world I suppose. Or have him appear from a crack from Planet Kouta already transformed into Orange Arms and be beaten down by the movie-exclusive/crossover-exclusive enemy.

I just remembered, what's going to happen to Nitoh now that the fruits are gone? :lol

His Man of the beginning form is a god. But his Kiwami form isn't. Plus, while he can control the forest, I doubt he's gonna uproot his entire new planet, just to throw it at the new enemy the Riders can handle on thier own.

I would guess right after/during Kouta and Kaito's fight. Or even right after he stops crying inside Ryoma's lab.

He didn't find him, someone else did and took him to the hospital. Its fair to assume he's been in care for a while and no one else knew.

Well, they literally said how they found Takatora in the episode. And once he was identified I think it's fairly obvious they contacted his next of kin, Micchy, so I don't really know what's confusing about that.

This is how a series should end. I absolutely loved every moment, including the resurrection of Takatora. But damn. Japan sure does love it's allegories, doesn't it?

Well the series hasn't ended yet. For all we know, Kouta and Mai will be reincarnated as they were at the beginning of teh show.

...that was one hell of an ending. I can't wait to see the other ending/Drive crossover simply because I want to see Micchy henshin into Ryugen again. It'll be great to see him redeem himself in the fight with Jam.

He was never going in the direction that he did before he got wounded. He changed his ideals when he knew he was going to change or die from his wound.

Kaito would have no way to even reach Kouta if Kouta got the Golden Fruit after knocking him out. If Kaito stay as Lord Baron then Kouta would have sent him to the other planet with the other Inves where he would've probably ruled.

I am so freaking glad this isn't the final episode of Gaim because this would make Black's final episode look like a Masterpiece. Hell this would make Dairanger's ending be a masterpiece. (I consider their final episodes to be crappy.) To be fair I absolutely loved every part that was 3 Months later everything with Kaito, Kouta, and Mai I didn't care for. A couple episodes ago Kouta raised up to be one of my favorite Riders, and now he dropped so much from this. They had never even mentioned Kouta wanting to kill Kaito or even trying to find another way to defeat Kaito. Baron wasn't even my favorite from Gaim but he shouldn't have died by his friend!

(Okay kind of spoilery for past Kamen Rider shows.)

Kusaka didn't die by Takumi even though Takumi should have destroyed the shit out of him for what he did and even felt sorry that he died afterwards.

Look what Kenzaki did in Blade, he sacrificed his humanity to save Hajime and give him a life to live even after everything he did.

In the Agito movie, G4 wanted to die and Hikawa didn't want to kill him but only ended up doing so to survive. They never even showed that Kaito had that desire.

In Kabuto, Kick Hopper seemingly kills Punch Hopper when gets turned into a Worm because he didn't want to live as a Worm and the same for Sasword as well.

Hell, Wataru went back in time to try and erase himself from being born because he didn't want to live.

Kaito knew he was going to die anyways and fought for what he wanted. There were better ways to do this instead of just killing Kaito off because that's what Sagara wanted they were pawns in his little game and they could have tried to change that. It kind of shared similar themes with Blade and Blade fought against Fate and changed Fate. Gaim just let fate happen and changed nothing.

Okay maybe I am saying the long version of I think Kaito should have lived and Kouta shouldn't have killed him and because he did it upset me. lol

Yes he was. His ideals were always the same, but he went from a kid with nothing to a monster with the powers of a demigod.

All the wound did was push him towards eating that fruit.

Pretty much this, through out the whole season they implied so much on Kaito ideal was always just his one single minded goal from the very beginning, by having the Sengoku Driver, Genesis Driver, and Overlord power just gave him the strength and extra push he needed to accomplished his goal (or tried to)

My 2 cents is that there was no way Kaito could have survived and Kouta still kept harmony. The whole premise was always death and rebirth. Kaito had already gone too far in order to meet his goals. I think the ending was precisely what it should be, even if I always want my Rider endings to be happy, they're always bittersweet.

Takatora and Micchy. Can we call him Micchy again? As much as I wanted to see him squished like Sid, I think the mental break was enough to punish him for a long long time. Trying to make me feel bad about him though isn't going to help my opinion.

Finally, at least now we know what planet Don Dogoier comes from. #badwig

Kaito, from the very beginning of the series, adopted the idea that the strong must trample the weak and believed firmly that the weak should be weeded out so that the human race could become stronger. However, deep down, Kaito hated that it had to be that way. Really, Kaito wanted more or less what Kouta wanted, but I think Kaito knew that the ideal world couldn't exist with people like him, who sought out power so obsessively to stay at the top. I think Kouta understood this once Kaito stated his desire to destroy the world and start a new one, knowing that even if Kaito succeeded, Kaito was still a product of the old world and was a piece of it that needed to be removed.

Personally I'm hoping for the latter but expecting the former-in the preview it looks like his driver is one of the blank trooper versions.

Actually, shouldn't his and Oren's old yellow-belted prototype drivers still be around somewhere? In storage or labs at Yggdrasil presumably, after they were replaced with the newer models. I mean they could have been thrown out as they were locked to Jonouchi and Oren and as such there's no risk of random people using them, but I imagine Ryouma wouldn't dare let his valuable research be thrown out, he'd keep it locked away somewhere surely.
Also, now that the forest of helheim, such as it is now, is on a barren planet in space, will cracks still work the same way for summoning fruit and such?
Maybe I'm just thinking too much into things, but that's half the fun with such interesting worlds and characters :lol

I think only the version of Helheim that was growing on Earth got sucked up into space. The forest that was home to the... um, not-Grongi (I forget the name - started with an L and had very few vowels) didn't go anywhere and that should still be where the fruit comes from. Clearly they come from somewhere, because we'll have both Grape and Pinecone showing up next week.

How Jonouchi will transform next week isn't complex once you realize Jonouchi's driver was not destroyed in episode 44.

As you can see only his acorn seed was destroyed. The driver is still intact, though it's worth noting the face plate is now blank. I'm guessing the shock to the driver just wiped the Gridon data. Next week Jonouchi will become Kurokage using the Driver he's always used.

That reminds me, we never got a resolution to The Overlord's species twist (granted we still have one episode but I doubt it would happen). The name used in the subs was a cipher to keep what they really were a secret. The show kept making it seem like there was going to be a payoff on it with how many times the Overlords kept mentioning it over and over but I guess it just ended up a little easter egg for anyone who translated it which I find disappointing.

Yeah, I was puzzled with how the kept calling themselves humans, but the humans apes.

So everything considered, I think this was a good finale. Not much to say but having Jonouchi looking for Hase was a nice touch.

That part choaked me up a little...:(

It was a nice coda to Jonouchi's character development. I wonder if he'll ever learn the truth.

I think he might with him donning the pinecone.

Takatora's the only person left that knows the truth, depending on what he's doing during the epilouge I doubt he'll ever learn what happened to him.

Kouta's going to be in the next episode if leaks and previews are accurate, but also, how do we know Micchy in his snooping and early Yggdrasil days didn't find out about Hase's demise.

How do we know Ryouma didn't put hidden cameras in every Energy Rider helmet so he could secretly record what his cohorts saw and said "FOR SCIENCE!"?

Yeah, but Ryouma was there with the other energy Riders when Sigurd killed Hase. They were all watching from the bridge, remember? Ryouma would've had no need to film what he was watching with his own eyes.

Actually, that sounds like something Ryouma would do. Film everything he he and others around him sees...FOR SCIENCE! :lol

So I got around to finishing the episode, and I gotta admit, I liked it, even if I did get some Madoka vibes from the ending.

And I'm still kinda disappointed the Overlords didn't make it to the finale, specifically Deemushu (Or is it Demuushu?), Redyue and Roshuo.
