eh, yeah i wanted to like it, but it was bad. The black ranger fight with the uh...korean mafia? was bad in my opinion and he looked like a guy in a fat suit. I did enjoy the twist at the end and carla prez...where have I heard that name before? was she the american VO for rita during MMPR?

Hikasa Jun, Toei's Preseident and CEO of the TV and movie production department, has tweeted about the fan movie.
Apparently the Toei production department has been talking about it earlier during their free time after watching the clip. |

He briefly described the 15mins clip to his followers. He mentioned that it would be something Sakamoto would love to watch and make in his film. He also thought it would be something Lionsgate may used to as bait to test the water. |
That is interesting to hear. I kinda of agree with him about testing the waters part.
|
Test the waters how? The film is without a doubt the polar opposite of what Lionsgate and Saban will want/do.
|
I kinda wanted to see a more clearer look on their Megazord design.

Sometimes you have to know when to not do some things. I wish the makers of Power/Rangers knew that. |

Honestly, all I want for a Power Rangers movies is for them to make an original team, like what half the writers having been desiring/whining about wanting to do for a while, and just use the spirit of what makes Power Rangers fun without being restricted to a previous plot or footage from Sentai.
I would prefer it if they didn't just reboot MMPR into a film franchise, or make a Kamen Rider: The First-type series were they try to adapt all their past seasons into a movie format and see how far they can go before people lose interest. |
Loved it. Not for the violence and gore, but for the ideas behind what drove the characters we all love to that point. Interesting idea.
Is it what I want a rebooted film franchise to be like? No, but I found it compelling on its own merits. |
