What do you think they're hinting at with the "What we really are" part? |

Evil destroyers that don't really care? A dying race seeking to rekindle glory? Something sympathetic that doesn't gel with the previous cosmic horror story stuff (think "Cthulhu isn't really an unfeeling cannot-be-fought-or-reasoned-with ancient evil that will destroy us all, he just wanted a FRIEND!!!" type shenanigans).
Or maybe all Gems are extentions of YD including Steven, or with the drill thing they pull a Prime Unicron mixed with Carol of the Old Ones/Primal Rage. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=V_AvJzkPqQ8 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_vNQDGgY2PY |

Well, the gem fusions and the cluster are made up of fallen gems, including deceased Crystal Gems.
Perhaps we'll finally learn a little more about the war. |

I know this question doesn't have to do with The Cluster?
But what is your opinion that Season 3 will explored Pearl's past life before meeting Rose and the identity of Lion? I think Pearl is only Crystal Gem that we don't know about her past life beside Garnet and Amethyst which I feel it's time to explored her previous life. To be very honest, I feel Lion is like Steven Universe's answer to Gravity Falls' Author because both of them are biggest mysteries of the show. Who is Lion's identity?! Is he's Pink Diamond?! Is he's Pink Pearl?! A Greg's cat?! Goodness gracious! Rebecca Sugar is playing mind game on ME!! |
Concerning the very imminent threat that is the cluster, I think S3 will mostly be focused on that, and seeing as how we have a new addition, I anticipate we'll be getting more history on Peridot than the others.
Not saying that we won't get a little more on Pearl, but I highly doubt we'll "Explore" Pearl's history any time soon. Lion's mystery is a part of his character, so I fully anticipate not learning a damn thing about him until endgame. |
A deals a deal...
So, Matrixbeast is requiring me to write paragraphs on each episode I watch to prove I'm actually watching it. Episode 1: It's was ok. I thought it'd start a lot different. I was expecting it to go the Transformers way of "We crashed on earth, and we need to know how the humans do things, so we need to find some humans to befriend" but instead there they all are...just chilling around in Steven's house. Not much happened aside from establishing that Steven has a Gem. Episode 2: Ok, what happened to the animation? Pearl looks just...wrong. Anyway, It's nice that we got some more backstory, like seeing Steven's dad, and having his mom mentioned. Also, what was that giant rock in the sky? Anyway, they have a cannon, that's neat. Overall, it's an ok beginning...Steven makes a decent first impression, since he seems like a pretty good kid character, since he's not an annoying piece of crap. I still don't like the art style, though. Time to get to Gurren Lagann, Matrixbeast. |
SU basically starts in medias res, with little history and things just...Happening.
Wait until episode 10. Things get more solid there, while episode...16 or so is when things start connecting. Not that it'll make more sense, but you'll start to notice more connections and ongoing themes. |

Anyway. Episodes 3 and 4: 3: It was fine. I liked that we got some more world building, and apparently the Gems have been on earth for roughly 100 years, so I'm interested to see where that goes, also the gems took that tower being destroyed rather well, since it seemed really important to them. 4: So, they have a temple? That's neat. Also, more of Steven being an idiot, I do hope he grows out of that, and wow that "together breakfast" looked really gross. Why would you put popcorn on waffles? WHY?!? Speaking of, I did really enjoy Garnet's like of "It has all the powers of a breakfast" :lol |
Popcorn on waffles is actually a nice decision. Sweet and salty is an amazing flavor combination, add in some rich buttery flavor, and you have a solid breakfast combo.

The description of 5 upcoming episodes of Steven Universe: SPOILER ALERT
1. Super Watermelon Island- In a dream, Steven finds himself on Mask Island, in the skin of a watermelon Steven. After meeting the watermelon community of the island, he finds himself face to face with Malachite, who seems ready to break her chains. Upon awakening, Steven tells the Gems everything, who hurry to Mask Island to subdue Malachite. 2. Gem Drill- The Crystal Gems stuck on Mask Island after their fight against Malachite, Steven and Peridot go aboard the drill alone and dig to the Cluster, ready to take form. But Steven has doubts: do they not have another choice than destroying it...? 3. Same Old World- Lapis regains consciousness and wants to leave but does not know where to go. Steven then decides to show her different places that she could like on Earth... 4. Barn Mates- Peridot tries to convince Lapis that they can be friends, but she is adamant as Peridot is the reason why she was forced to return to Earth. Steven helps Peridot change her mind... 5. Hit the Diamond- Steven and the Gems are amazed to see five Ruby soldiers sent by Yellow Diamond coming out of a tracking vessel. Garnet unfuses so that Ruby can infiltrate the group and discover their purpose, but she causes suspicions. To prevent them from searching the area and finding Peridot, Stevens proposes a baseball match: If they win, they can search the barn, but if they lose, they will leave forever. The first team consists of Steven, Pearl, Amethyst, Sapphire, and Lapis, all disguised as humans. The second team consists of the group of Rubies, one of which being the Ruby infiltrating them. |
Really excited for Thursday. Also apparently it's gonna be a half hour block, rather than just one episode, which amplifies my excitement~

I heard Season 3 will release all episode during Summer of Steven. |
Quote:
So I wouldn't be too surprised if the In Too Deep special event and Summer of Steven manages to show all 26 episodes for Season 3. |

|
I didn't anticipate that climax, though I don't know why :lol
I'm hyped up for what comes next~ |
Alright 2 great episodes! :)
I got a treat for you guys! This is a description of First Summer of Steven episode after In Too Deep, "Steven Floats" Spoiler Alert Steven is delighted to be finally back in Beach City and see the house, the beach, and the Big Donut. When Sadie tells him that if he comes back the next day at the opening of the store, he can enjoy the first fresh donut of the day. He is determined to be at there at seven o'clock sharp, but the emergence of a new power sends Steven very high in the sky ... |
I really enjoyed these episodes!! Can't wait till next week!!
|
I'm avoiding spoilers after I spoiled myself on Garnet when I marathoned the series, so it's hard to think about what comes next :lol
Malachite looks really nice. I'm actually gonna miss her. And dammit, Jasper is gone again >< |
Quote:
Don't worry, She will return in some form. But at least Lapis will get her own character development I think! |
5 bucks say Jasper is gonna make her way down to the cluster somehow and fuck shit up. Somehow.
Anyway yeah that was pretty great. |
I know Jasper will return. She wouldn't be killed off so unceremoniously :lol
I'm just curious about what will happen when she comes back. Has Homeworld's stance on fusion changed in the past 5000 years? After all, she has admitted that she sees the value in the tactic, despite it being seen as an abomination when Garnet first did it. Will Yellow Diamond's next fleet (It's kind of inevitable that she'd send someone down to stop Peridot) accept someone willing to do what was formerly seen as unthinkable? |
Quote:
And that if it happens naturally, under various conditions, like Garnet, then it must be freakish mutation. And that is something that can't be allowed. Like humans, in a sense, the Gems fear what they cannot understand and control. |
Jasper is in a rough spot, then...Well, literally and figuratively :lol
The Crystal Gems have no reason to not fight and bubble Jasper when she re-emerges, while the Homeworld Gems probably don't have much respect for the veteran who is willing to use detestable and disgusting tactics (Even by Homeworld standards) to achieve victory, so she'll probably be shattered by them. Home girl is in a bit of a predicament. |
Episodes 5-8:
5: Well that was pointless...wouldn't have been if we had gotten to hear what pearl said about the crystal. Also, another case of "I don't like being involved in the family business!" Just. Steven...stop being stupid, and for the love of all that is holy and good, put on some pants. 6: Oh thank God! He's wearing pants! This one was also kinda pointless, but some of the jokes were nice, though the cat fingers were kinda horrifying. It was nice to see Steven interacting with his dad more, though I worry for that man's skin. 7: Oh look it's Connie. She's neat. I also think this episode had some good jokes, especially involving Garnet, she's a really good straightman. I just feel really bad for that man's boat. By the way, it seemed implied that Connie isn't from Beach City, and she just kinda accepts the fact that Steven is magic. That's kinda weird. Also, I still wish I knew more about Garnet as a character, so far She's just been the straightman for Pearl and Amethyst. Like, I know it comes later once she de-fuses, but still. Anyway another cute episode, I liked Connie and Steven's interactions. Oh yeah, and Lars is kind of an immature jerk...just wanted to throw that out there. 8: Oh look! LORE!!! But not very much...also, dangerous temple is dangerous. I was really hoping that the thing at the beginning would lead somewhere, but instead it was a bait and switch...way to blueball a guy Steven Universe. This episode was also cute. I like seeing Steven and all the Gems interact with eachother. They all play really nice off one another, and I'm amazed at how well the writers make them feel like a family this early on. They're stepping up the humor as well, which I like. Though, I gotta say. The animation can be kinda rough sometimes...ESPECIALLY regarding Pearl. I don't recall is it was this one, or Bubble Buddies, but I remember one scene where Pearl's proportions were all messed up, only for her to raise her arms and for it to get worse, since she became Slenderman all of the sudden. Yeah, I still don't get what all the hubbub is about. So far, I just think it's a nice, cute little show. I don't get why the entire internet is all like "OMG THIS IS THE PINNACLE OF CARTOONS! NOTHING CAN EVER TOP THIS!" Like, it's nice. I like it (Happy, Matrixbeast?) but I'm not seeing "greatest cartoon of all time" here. I guess we'll see when I go through the rest of season 1. |
Oh hey, you watched more episodes!
I guess that 1 episode of Gurren Lagann under my belt won't cut it anymore x3 Cat Fingers is fun for straight up strange imagery. It's awsome~ As for Connie just accepting that Steven having magic, just roll with it. At 11 minutes an episode, irrelevant details have to be cut :lol Concerning Garnet, you actually learn a lot about her in season 1. While she is a lot more subdued and quieter, she gets some pretty solid characterization. And don't worry, don't worry. You're getting to the point where plot points will start connecting and you can start to piece together the a story. Glad to know you're liking it! I makes me happy to know that the animation and design isn't still making you projectile vomit! |
Well, the 3 leaked episodes were neat (I think America is now only one week behind).
And mission complete. I managed to get Sideswipe to enjoy the series, rather than watch is as part of a bargain~ *Fist pumps* |
With all of the new episodes that happened this past week, I drew a quick comic (slight spoilers for those who aren't caught up as far as "Hit the Diamond")
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CoEs2UWUkAAW1CR.jpg |
Speaking of the Shorty Squad, Peridot's twitter is real :p
Pearl...Don't go full Uncle Grandpa again |
And for those that don't know, a new gem is being introduced.
|
Why the fuck did Mr. Greg just hit me so hard? Jesus Christ, now I look like a little bitch...I mean, even more so than usual.
What the hell, it wasn't so heavy the first time I watched it... |

She updates with every new episode, too. It's hilarious :lol |
I like the last few episodes, but I'm missing some action. But it looks like future episodes will deliver on that.
Also, I've been spoiled and I hate it. There are things happening soon I looked very much forward to without knowing if they ever happen, and two dumb thumbnails on some dumb website ruined the surprise. I hate spoilers. |
