Watched the promo a few more half-dozen times. Freaking hyped for this thing. Hope Over-Time picks it up.

Thought it strikes me that we're probably only seeing stuff from the first few episodes. I hope they don't rush through things, even if they do only have 13 episodes. I hope Haruka doesn't go full Omega by like, episode one. I want them to take their time to tell a strong story in what little time they have.

Unless the episodes are like, 40+ minutes long or something. If so, go wild, Amazons.

Ok. We know that there's practically an army of Amazons. But am I the only that noticed that this trailer focuses on 3, not 2 but 3, Amazons? The red one, and two greens? One of them resembling the original slightly?

No, I meant the one that they show just finished transforming with steam all around their body. It may have been the same one, but the green was very vibrant. Unlike those other ones that look almost black.

Well that was certainly something. I really like the look of the new Amazon(s), and hopefully they update more of the showa suits, so that they can fit in better with modern Riders. It is unfortunate that the show is on Amazon Prime Japan though. It could have been pretty neat to watch this show, even though people will just steal this stuff.

Also, first episode is apparently out, apparently episodes are over 40 minutes long. That is pretty fantastic. Looking forward to subs.

Wait. Does it come with a belt extender right out of the box? Interesting. I saw the face switching coming, but I was not expecting them to implement the Condorer spear in any way at all. Even if that looks sorta lame in toy form, I appreciate that they even tried making it happen in the first place. And hey! The register is included too. Color me way more interested in this release than ever before.

On a side note: I really think that the thread should be renamed, if possible. "OFFICIAL Kamen Rider Amazons Thread" seems more appropriate at this point.

Amazon Driver is available at Amazon.co.jp too.
Their version doesn't come with Amazon Register, the extension belt, and Amazon Blade.

Gimmicks of the Amazons Driver:
1. Depending on which direction the buckle faceplate is will determine which Amazon.
2. Turn the left grip for henshin effect(If you set it to Alpha, which is green eyes, it will say"Alpha" while the other way will say "Omega").
3. Turning the left grip again will activate the finisher move sound.
- Alpha: Violent Slash and Violent Strike
- Omega: Violent Punish and Violent Strike
4. When the belt is in Omega mode, detatch the right grip and attach the blade part to form the Amazons Blade(during this state turn the left grip to activate "Violent Break").
5. Omega's Amazons Register is meant for the left arm.

I mentioned this to Gosei one day about what I'd do if I had designed the belt!!!

For something that is a limited run for a show that is exclusive to one media service I think Bandai really did well with this. There are better henshin belt role play toys out there but this is nice in its own way. :)

To me the belt never served a purpose. His transformation was biological. The belt seemed redundant and useless since he never did anything with it.

Yep, and he used that a fair bit. Just because he didn't use it to transform doesn't mean it wasn't practical.

It also means that, despite its shorter episode count, Amazons may in fact end up having a longer runtime than Amazon. So that's weird.

Strange. Surely someone will sub this, right? I still need to watch Amazon. I've long been interested in that one. This only increases that.

Wow, that really doesn't look like a normal Rider show. The cinematography and music are really different. I hope we get a way to see this outside of Japan because now I'm really intrigued.

This really feels like they are trying to also appeal to the Netflix/Hulu streaming service crowd aside from the conventional rider fans. Now that I think about it Kamen Rider 4 must have been a test bed of sorts. And seeing how they are doing those legend rider eps for Ghost on YouTube I guess Toei is looking for other new places to showcase their stuff other than tv and the silver screen knowing that there are other outlets aside from tv and theater.

Subs for episode 1 are out from both TV-Nihon and Over-Time. We got options, folks. Go grab 'em.

I really liked the first episode. It pretty much went exactly as I expected, and left off at the point I was hoping for. Definitely feels like a return to form for Kamen Rider, at least reminiscent of the early Heisei shows I've watched in its grimness. But it's not totally humorless, and it has style. I thought it was pretty fun.

The opening theme (which plays during the credits) is pretty good.

The cgi blood does look pretty bad, though. Really should have gone practical for that. Outside of that and some wonky looking lasers, this series looks really good.

I enjoy the first ep, like others have said it's got that gritty early heisei feel with maybe a hint of the 90s era, (The Amazons' transformations really reminded me of how Shin Transforms) Also wasn't it Kuuga's director who did this episode?t

I do wonder if they'll keep this strictly in it's own bubble, it would be interesting if the original Amazon makes an appearance, there's nothing atm that can stop it connecting to the original show.

Amazons is doing better than I first thought.

Here's hoping we'll see more like this. It's good to have a mainline Rider and a more adult focused one as it's always nice to have options.

Until yesterday, I thought Amazons would essentially be 5-10 minute extended commercials, like all the other net-based Toei Toku stuff. I have never been so thrilled to be wrong. 'Cause holy crap, this was so much better than it had any right to be.

I loved the first episode to bits. It was pulled straight out of the early Heisei Rider playbook, and I never thought we'd see anything that felt like Heisei Rider again. I love it when Kobayashi goes dark & serious, and with only 13 episodes, we can be assured that there won't be any of the pointless filler in the middle that often throws Kobayashi's yearlong toku series off course.

Honestly, a 13 episode Kamen Rider series that isn't as beholden to the commercial reality of being a toy commercial for toddlers is something I've dreamed of for years. It really feels like the streaming venue is a place where creators can potentially take a lot of risks.

Dare I dream of a Super Sentai equivalent? If that happened, my heart might literally explode. Here's hoping Amazons does super well and justifies more projects in this vein.

If they do I want to see a conclusion to Shin.
As for a sentai equivalent maybe a Goranger reboot.
