Although it is odd that Jin's Amazon form looks mostly the same without the Driver. |
Episode 6 was really good! I enjoyed the actors a lot, I’m actually starting to care about Haruka now that he starts to walk his own path, and Jin was really funny in that cage. Best thing was probably the fight at the end though – feakin’ amazing. The wire work was really, really good IMO.
So yeah, I continue to dig this show a lot. Next episode looks cool too, finally some more Amazon Alpha action, and damn: Omega even has a sickle? Hope the Figuart comes with all of this stuff :lol |
watched episode 5 finally. I'm starting to get the feeling Haruka's "mother" is the less evil option in the company. Not good just less evil.Although it was a way to keep Jin out of this particular episode and focus a bit more on Haruka. But it does look like he's going from a "baby" to quote mom here to finding his own feet and growing up a bit. And speaking of baby, I know I said Momaru was almost dog loyal in the previous ep but he was almost child like trying not to get that shot in his brief scene in this one.

Episode 6 was awesome. This show is so good. I'm really sad that it's only 13 episodes. I need a season 2

And maybe in Jetman too, I can't really remember bus the bus itself was the monster of the week. |
Episode 6 is subbed everyone discuss.

Anybody else notice Haruka looking a bit... evil while he was smiling when they went to that interior shot during the fight? Or am I just seeing into thing too much and that was his inner self enjoying the moment. either way it was good to finally see his boys drop a bit, finally not doing what his moter wants and doing what he thinks is best. Also was Mamuro always this child like and I just never noticed until recently? Also Jin's wife had to be a super spy or something in a previous life in order to get him out of that cell and not get detected breaking in.
|
I'm enjoying this show more and more with each passing episode. Haruka is really turning into an interesting main character and he seems to have a lot of untapped potential as an Amazon. I'm really excited to see where the show goes from here.
|
The current episode itself was alright. Kind of guessed the beginning post 3 weeks later scene was a training sequence. but it is good to see haruka and the others start to get along a little more. Especially with the razzing Haruka was getting for messing up during that flashback. Even if he still not fully comfortable with how the team does things, are the extent he has to go battle wise, just yet. And yes I am talking about when he paused before finishing off the bug. And personally I think kin's right to call him out on it. On a side note I think Kazuya became my favorite character in this show so far. With everybody else in the show so serious, outside of Momaru that is, he's just goofy enough in the right way that makes him enjoyable so far.
|
Oh yeah. I've somehow not posted here yet, 7 weeks in. :lol Still need to watch that newest one though.
I am loving this show for the most part. Haruka is still kind of the weakest part of it for me, but he's growing some and that's good to see. But I'm digging the episode length, interactions between the extermination team, and Jin. |
Is this show more enjoyable having seen Amazon first?

Maybe you get a nostalgic kick out of it if you saw Amazon when it aired but you can't really replicate that feeling anymore. |

Episode 7 started off making me feel so happy, but by the end, made me worried...not ready for the next episode. lol

I haven't seen either, and plan to watch both. Just not sure which I should watch first. I'm thinking probably the original Amazon. |
Looks like a third amazon will appear next week...
|
Another good episode this week, I liked it a lot. Stupid cliffhager at the end but oh well.

Another with a belt. Looks like it might be a big bad to get Alpha and Omega to finally team up, which will annoy me.
|
God, this show is so good. I want a second season to complete the alphabet and I want this to become a regular thing. Give us a serious and mature adult Rider series while the main show can just keep getting sillier and kiddier. I can deal with as much slapstick, funny faces, and fisheyed lenses as Toei wants to give me so long as we can balance it with more shit like Amazons.

Episode 7 was cool, too bad the cliffhanger didn't even actually hang from that cliff longer than it took us to get to the preview.
And yep, looks like there's a third Amazon in episode 9...well, he looks cool. Also, didn't notice before but he's the guy who died in episode 2. Or well. Guess he didn't. I'm gonna guess there will eventually be a fourth one, and there will be a new PB condorer core for them. Since the one on this guy is black. Kinda lame that the belt won't be able to work for all the Riders despite being, you know, the belt all the Riders use, but oh well. Wasn't getting it anyway. Wonder what his name is. Amazon Beta? |
The third Amazon looks like Omega's first form with purple eyes which is pretty disappointing to be honest. What will he be called, Amazon Beta?
|
Amazons is easily on of the better toku shows out there right now. I hope that we get to see more showa shows get updated like this in the future or even later this year. Heck we didn't really know this show was coming until a few weeks before it aired, so who knows what could happen.
The third rider thing was expected after Alpha got captured a few episodes back. We saw them studying his belt so it isn't out of the realm of possibilities that they took that technology and made a third amazon rider. |

Ep 8 looks to be the better of the two partner ep. Still enjoying this show such a really great show. Always give me chills when watching this show.

The third Amazon is revealed!
http://www.jefusion.com/2016/05/kame...erges.html?m=1 It turns out it's Jun Maehara, the extermination member who was killed in the second episode. |

The reason for the new Amazon seems pretty self evident to me, and well built-up as well. The shady guy from the company has explicitly expressed interest in commercializing the Amazon cells (and also the belt) for military purposes. This new Amazon is him doing exactly that.
Now, unless he goes out of control, he probably won't be an actual antagonist in the sense that he won't be actively working against the heroes. However, his existence is still definitely something both Riders would oppose, though for pretty much opposite reasons. I don't think he'll be a "big bad," even if he does eventually become an antagonistic force that the others have to band together to fight. The real enemy in Amazons appears to be hubris, and this guy is just one more consequence of it. |
Episode 8 honestly had the best finisher in Kamen Rider history. He just Rams into the Amazon with his bike causing him to explode. Bravo, you just made this show even more gory.
|
The parallels between an innocent Amazon and a guilty human was quite nice. The fact that they play on the morality of it all makes it even nicer.
I think this was the best finisher Omega has ever used with the spear that skewered three Ants coming second to that. Out of all the characters, Takayama Jin (Alpha) is my favorite followed closely by Misaki Kazuya (shotgun guy, guy who talks to civilians). haruka is a nice character and all but he is still just a fledgling. |

I don't like the direction, honestly. I wanted an all out war between Alpha and Omega. Have their ideals clash, as the show was actively demonstrating. Now we have this schmuck tossed into the mix. |
I'm surprised at how badly the show let Nozomi get beaten this week. It's really rare to see a show go all-out on male on female violence like that, especially in tokusatsu, where female villains and heroines usually get paired off to avoid showing the male hero attacking a woman. It was really brutal and for awhile there I was wondering if the show was going to kill off Nozomi. I'm glad Haruka didn't kill the guy at the end, but I am a little disappointed that they apparently just let him go and didn't even call the cops. It's one thing to not kill him themselves, but at least turn the crazy murderer in to the authorities.
The stuff with the Amazon of the week was good, too. I like seeing the continual evolution of Haruka as a character. Considering how annoying I found him at first, it's really impressive how much the show is making me invested in his development. Mizuki, meanwhile, is still completely pointless. Quote:

Plus, even if they're both fighting against the same enemy, they can still find themselves clashing, as they did in the past couple of episodes. The new Rider(/how to deal with him) may well be the catalyst that really drives them to be at each others' throats. I don't really expect him to last beyond this season, anyway, which I do personally expect to be only the first of two. I don't expect him to be more than a new flavor of Amazon of the Week. Anyway, I agree with Switchblade on the serial killer. At the end I was just waiting for them to say they were calling the cops or something...just...waiting. I'm gonna assume it did happen and they just didn't show it because...reasons. They also didn't show them helping the couple in the woods or calling for medics to help them, but they kinda implied they would so...eh, gotta assume. |
Wow was this week's episode brutal.
|
So apparently the third amazon rider is named "Amazon Sigma"
