It's funny but I kinda want to see Sonic D-arts down the line. Both Megaman and Sonic are blue, their series are sort of up in the air right now and both have Archie comics and YouTube parody series where they're utter assholes.

Please, god no, not a Sonic figure...
Anyway, I wanna know if Rush will be able to change into the R.Coil and hoverboard thing... |
The original Megaman stuff looks cool, I'd probably only get Protoman and Megaman only unless they do a Bass. But i wanted to get an Axel figure out of the X stuff so I hope we see that figure soon, because I got my Vile the other day and i'm loving the figure.
|
So I picked up Vile.
I haven't messed with either of the Zeros yet, but I can say that he's a great figure, I just love that glossy purple and the metallic gold he has going on. So far, he's the most solid D-Arts figure I own, very SHF like. |
Still want me a Megaman Volnutt.

Is anyone else pretty disappointed with Dukemon?
For starters, his plume. The ball joint pops out rather easily to begin with, but if I twist it to the left (so it's flowing over his right shoulder) it just falls out. It somehow loses ALL friction. I twist it to the opposite side and it stays in place as well as if it were straight up-and-down. Then there's his hips... My lord are those limited. You can't even put his legs out to the side! So his legs aren't getting much farther apart than straight. And for my right leg, it's incredibly stiff at the thigh and won't even rotate there as freely as the left leg. Which would really really help with balance. And something in his chest squeeks like no other but I can't isolate which part it is. He looks freaking gorgeous. There's no doubt about that. But playing with and posing him? God that's frustrating. |
I already predicted that Dukemon wouldn't turn out very well.
His proportions, his accessories, etc. don't lend themselves very well. I'm still waiting on mine to arrive (Due to a slight error where I confirmed the order but didn't pay until a week later, so it delayed it's shipping for a week), but I don't imagine it being very good. Oh well. Would still probably look amazing next to Omegamon, and I'd still collect the hell out of the Royal Knights (Please gimme Alphamon or Magnamon next...) |
It's really just the hips that bug me. With Wargreymon and Beelezbmon (and I assume Omegamon... God I still want him but just can't afford it) you had no problems posing them. You want them to do it, they can. But Dukemon's upper thighs and waist are just too pointed for that. Which is the proportions thing you mentioned. I see how it would have been difficult to do while still being faithful to the design... But dangit I would have forgiven it for better hips.
I still need to break out the stand, though. Might be able to get a decen jousting pose with that. So far all I've been able to do are cool standing there relaxed or standing there threatening or just plain old standing there poses. |
I need a Parasimon for him to violently stab. That would be awesome :lol
Anyway, I decided hold off on getting Wargreymon (Because I just didn't like how he turned out) and Beelzemon (I like the J names fine, but Beelzebumon just sounds stupid, IMO) because I heard lots of people had issues with him for one reason or another. Omegamon is nice, but his hips are loose (I've managed to keep him in pose, but I do wish they were tighter at times). Like I said though. I probably still have another week before I see Dukemon at my door, so I can't really comment on him. |
What's everyone's opinion on the Medabots? I would love to see some more released.

However, I personally would prefer for them to hurry up and release Rokusho so that other characters (Particularly, ArcBeetle, the only Metabot I actually want to own right now), and would love for them to further explore characters and series beyond the Mega Man franchise. |

And I've got a Metabee review on the site if you're interested in checking it out, great figure. LOTS of diecast in both Metabee and Rokusho though, which is a reason I love them. Don't own any of the Megaman D-Arts, but from what I've heard they're diecast free, which is unfortunate. |
Ah. I didn't know Rokusho had gotten released, but like I said, there's only one Medabot that I want, and that's ArcBeetle. He was somewhat, kind of, semi important, so he just might get released over that stupid cat or Metabee's upgraded form...Hopefully.
I don't really hold diecast as important to the figure unless they need increased weight in the feet for balance (For example, ArcBeetle's GIGANTIC head crest and chest spike/arc cannon would need some kind of counterbalance such as diecast feet). The Mega Man D-Arts don't need diecast and thus don't utilize it. In all honesty, I don't even care for the Mega Man D-Arts...Medabots and Digimon are the only two franchises I have any interest in... |

Got my D-Arts Dukemon.
The shield is wildly unwieldy, but I haven't really gotten a chance to pose and display him. Aside from his derp eyes, he's pretty cool, and the eye thing isn't a problem unless you get up in his face and look closely. |

Getting more chance to screw around with Dukemon, the shield is still unwieldy as hell, but I've figured out how to work around it. I think my only problem is the head ribbon thing. It actually weighs back his head enough so that lots of poses with him looking down are nebulous (On my figure, that is) because it will just pull his head right back to a neutral position.
That said, I'm in love with his cape. It's really what Omegamon should have done. |

Pokemon is finally here! Mewtwo looks pretty dang awesome!
|
|
So much want! I never knew but I always wanted a D-Arts Mewtwo! I wonder if this will lead to more Pokemon done by Bandai. Some mons like Infernape, Garchomp, and Zoroark would be great in this line since they are humanoid shaped. Though for something like Electrode, that'd be the most affordable Figuarts Zero ever :lol. As for big boys like Kyogre, Dialga, and Reshiram, MonsterArts all the way.
|
I want every humanoid Pokemon. Blaziken, Mienshao, Lucario, Electivire, etc etc.
You know what would be adorable? If they included a Figuart Zero of an evolution's base state (Such as a D-Art Charizard coming with a Charmander statue, Zoroark coming with a Zorua, etc). That way, should this line thrive, it would be a neat way to get mons who would never see a solo release. |
Figma Samus, Figma Link, and now D-Arts Mewtwo...I just need one more for Super SmashBros toy edition.

As for the middle stages, something has to give. I can't see them selling them individually because they're not the most notable mons (It's either the cute beginning or the awesome final stage), nor could I see them included with their final form without some kind of greater price hike. Either that or exclusive bait. It kind of sucks for the middle stages, really. For every hundred Charmander plushs or Charizard keychains, you'll find like one itty bitty Charmeleon statuette. |
Mewtwo is an interesting choice.
Can we maybe get a Charizard at some point please??? |
Is that a promotional picture, or will he come with a little Mew?
|
You know what would make this a must buy for me? If he had his armor.

Okay Bandai, you have thoroughly convinced me to buy a D-Arts figure.
|
WOW! Didnt see that coming. He'll look great with Link and Samus!
|
Armored Mewtwo.
I think you just inspired the Exclusive version of him. |

The little tiny Mew is gonna be a first run pre order bonus calling it now. |
Damn, they're doing Pokemon?! They can take all of my money now.
I liked Digimon, but until they make a gargomon or megagargomon ( or any of the terriermon family) I'm not that interested as I'm not such a big fan of the designs of most of the other digi's. Doesn't help that I've not seen as shows past tamers or played any games since digimon World 3. Pokemon is an entirely different kettle of fish, and I will fully support more figures =D I hope we get some non humanoid ones too, I'd imagine they'd just be cartoony monster arts. |
