Let the Civil War/Fire Emblem Fates fly!

It's been about three months since the Kyuranger Q4 scans were released. Do we think it's likely we'll see Q1 scans for the new Sentai soon?

Yeah next month just like last year.

Late November to early December is usually when the catalogues are given out. Last year was around the 5th of December iirc? Toei's been cracking down on them in recent years though, since these aren't normally for the public. We'll start getting toy rumors and listings first, then blurry pictures, filters aplied to hide details because, again, we aren't supposed to see these until the shop embargos pass, and before that we may get a picture of the cover featuring the full team.

Eventually once I guess the embargo passes though we'll have webshops putting up clips of the separate items, then not long after the catalogue leaks fully.

TLDR; don't expect anything concrete and clear until the first couple weeks of December

Yeah I forgot the Kyuranger suits were leaked, last November.

Official reveal meeting is scheduled for December 7th, so images & final details should be available that week(ish).

Meanwhile, there's a couple rumors currently circulating:

*KyuRanger is speculated to be ending February 4th. Factoring in the usual breaks, that'll give it 48 episodes total.

*Episodes/stories will be divided between the two teams. At least one Ranger may serve as a kind of "double-agent" on both teams.

*Mecha names are allegedly- "PatoRangerRobo" and "LupinTheGreat."

LupinTheGreat is the best name for the Lupinranger's mecha. Also December, so there will be possible leaks coming out then.

So if Patoranger and Lupinranger both get Red Rangers who will Lucky do the Hand-Off too?

Would be nice to have a darker and edgy story with a serious undertone like Timeranger or Shinkenger for the next series but will not happen. However it is interesting with the rumours what is going on.

Latest rumours doing the rounds:

-Title of the show is “Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patoranger”

-Lupinranger is composed of LupinRed, LupinBlue and LupinYellow. Yellow is female.

-Patoranger is composed of PatorenIchigo (Red), PatorenNigo (Green) and PatorenSango (Pink). Sango is female.

-Lupinranger looks like Timeranger. Patoranger has several design points from other series.

-As for mecha, they are “cool” and “surprising”. Lupinranger will have 3 jets. Patoranger will have 3 cars. The mecha will have a shared battleship, possibly which they launch from.

-The Lupinranger change attachments are dials that attach to the fuselages of their mecha. In Gattai form, they make a hat. The “bang bang” attachments for the Patoranger work the same way.

How much longer will we see the first figures?

In roughly 2 days we should get our first OFFICIAL info leaked, followed with rough scans, followed by not-so-rough scans, followed by official images.

Super psyched about this just based on the rumors above that Ape shared with us.

Patience. They'll be out when they're out. Is the meeting today (Japan time) even an official press conference, or just something for retailers? If it's the former, I still wouldn't expect to see anything for several more hours, as it's about 9am JST right now.

Someone elsewhere in the thread mentioned Toei has been cracking down on leaks. If it's just a retailer meeting today, we could expect to see stuff today... or for it to take another week or two. I'm almost hoping we get to see something official before a storm of blurry photos.

Usually there's an embargo. Once one person or entity leaks, everyone leaks. But the embargo is usually on the pictures of the product itself and not descriptions of the product. We should start seeing some product descriptions first, followed with actual images soon thereafter.

So for those of us who fill the dumb American stereotype, what do Aki, Aoi, and Ki translate to?

Red, Blue, and Yellow, although the forms on the first two are unfamiliar to me.

I don't speak Japanese, I'm just fixated on Sentai. Gorenger was Akaranger, Aoranger, Midoranger, Kiranger, and Momoranger. Ninninger was Akaninja, Aoninja, Kininja, Momoninja, and Shironinja. Essentially, I've been learning the colors in Japanese by osmisis.

So we may not get Monster of the week stories until later on in the series and instead, the next season will be treated as one big VS Movie, that's pretty exciting stuff right there.

An interesting tidbit about the title news is that CraneJoe deleted the tweet shortly after posting it.

New Police Sentai. Someone cue the happy dance music. It might be the main three colors for a three man sentai team, but I also enjoy that it could be considered for the thin (color) Line spectrum for emergency personnel. Red for Fire/EMS, Blue for Police, and Yellow (or gold) for dispatching. I doubt that’ll ever get notes in the show, but a fun thought.

It's gonna be awkward for when their VS movie with Kyuranger comes out. Would they call it Lupinranger Vs Patoranger Vs Kyuranger.

So, CliffsNotes details for those playing catch-up:

*Two teams of 3 members. LupinRanger is Red/Blue/Yellow while PatoRanger is Red/Green/Pink.

*Both teams have vehicle motifs. LupinRanger are aircraft-based PatoRanger are car-based. Both henshin & attacks involve inserting miniature vehicles into weapon/devices for combat.

Love that Sentai has been really unique with their shows recently.

That is true. I just wish the quality of the show would match its uniqueness. Kyuranger is disappointing IMO despite the fantastic setup, so I hope the next season delivers a better experience for me.

Because the idea of two separate teams fighting against each other based on police and thieves sounds awesome. I know they will probably join forces sooner than later but still.

The only thing I find a bit meh right now is two Red Rangers. Can't they at least make them different shades of red? I mean they will have different costumes but literally two Red's is kinda dumb.

There is the possibility of a double agent which can make this setup interesting so I will give it the benefit of the doubt.

That would be cool. I mean it would be fantastic if we as the viewer wouldn't know who the Red is either but I doubt they can keep the identity of their top cash-cow hidden for long enough.

It appears that the "Megazord" shares the core Zord between both teams. So either only one team is forming a Megazord at a time or they are forced to work together from time to time.
