Some rumors I saw floating around earlier in the thread...

Something about TOEI not licensing more Sentai past Ninninger and Hasbro switching from live-action to animation after Beast Morphers.

You had fans that was hoping that the 2017 PR movie would do that, but didn't. It could have made PR be more popular and respected if it didn't fail at the box office. That movie could have done better if they didn't release it in March when you had Beauty and The Beast and Kong: Skull Island that month.

Probably in the comics, but I doubt we will get any movies or TV show crossovers. People thought we would get Pokemon Transformers crossover figures similar to the Transformers crossover toys of Marvel and Star Wars similar how Hasbro/Takara Tomy owns both of those franchises. It never did.

I doubt we will get any crossovers, but it could be cool if they did in a comic book like the DC and PR crossover.

Yeah, from what I’ve heard the only source of those rumors is Amit Bahik, and I don’t think he’s been involved with the franchise for over a decade.

Honestly....I think Power Rangers would be more successful in the US if they continued to make shows and stories based on the original rangers, as opposed to making a yearly sentai adaptation.

That would mean it would devolve into making the same 6-7 characters each year with different gimmicks - its like those non battlizer toys that we would see but had not bearing on the show that looked awful. i hate to say it but its also for the best because the show is run for not that much money any original footage is a cost they don't want to pay. Its a lot cheaper to make it an adaptation and im in favor of that but what i think they need is to keep more of the sentai premise but not adapt things that won't work in an american market. for example, in samurai don't make the gold rangers a guy who fishes and cooks fish all the time just because his japanese counterpart ran a sushi stall. come up with another reason.


also i want less of the in zord armor they did in samurai and ninja steel its POINTLESS. It doesn't get used anywhere because it american only and they are not going to shell out the cash for a fight scene with it.


More concerning to me is the legacy line, i was hoping for more of the classic morphers to be remade with improvements. im hoping that continues

Just becsuse it worked with the Transformers doesn't mean it'll work for everything else. Power Rangers is not as G1 influenced as much as the Transformers that keeps using the same characters in adaptations and toys over and over without being creative beyond makeing Optimus with wider shoulders and call it a new toy or something. And since both Transformers and the Ninja Turtles fell victims to keeping everything the same for decades is the reason why no one wants to be really creative because stupid fans refuse to accept anything that doesn't look like what they're used to.

If Power Rangers was to be put in a Hasbro Shared Universe of some kind, do you guys think they would make Lightspeed Rescue apart of G.I. Joe?

No, because Lightspeed Rescue exists to save people and G.I. Joe exists to destroy threats - similar missions, but different. Plus Lightspeed Rescue isn't popular enough to justify a large tie-in like that.

It's more popular then M.A.S.K. which was made a part of G.I. Joe.

Well it is not impossible for original Power Rangers content to be done. They have original Robotech stuff without any Macross footage to be dubbed over.

Yes, but my point is if they were to make any series apart of G.I.Joe, it'd be a more popular one...not that they're likely to do anything major anyway. Any crossovers between Transformers and G.I.Joe are very minor and doesn't affect the primary story(s) of Transformers...so any crossover between Power Rangers and G.I. Joe or Transformers or whatever else likewise won't be all that grandiose.

I think there'll be more Transformers/Gi joe influences now.

And the problem is the show is really bad nowadays. I want a PR show that is good in these days, and if it attracts newcomers then it is a bonus.

I hope Hasbro allows Legacy Wars to keep going.

Hasbro is changing its approach to storytelling now, so we don't really know. They're going back to their 80s approach of having a comic book company in-charge of all their storytelling (though this time it is IDW Publishing and not Marvel Comics), so it's possible the current Transformers comic is an indication of how C2D would be done by Hasbro, but you'd need to imagine it as an animated series or something.

Maybe Hasbro will let fans vote on some figures, like how they do the Transformers fan votes.

This is correct, however MASK, Action Man and ROM seem to have been fasttracked in all 3 of their places in just the last 8 to 12 weeks.

That annual report actually does explain WHY they bought Power Rangers. They want to make their own franchise products account for more than 49% of revenue, through storytelling, so buying and modifying Power Rangers from decent to excellent helps with that as they have everything ready to go.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Hasbro Studios is more than capable of creating decent animated television series, that reach far beyond their scope. Even their preschool Transformers shows fit into the continuity of their older skewing series, which shows they give a shit.

Genuinely, I trust Hasbro to do a better job with this franchise than Saban Brands and even Disney.

And I saw this line in transaction details "The agreement includes all related intellectual property, category rights and content libraries owned by Saban Properties and its affiliates". That last part makes it sound like Hasbro got everything Saban had so that might be confirmation that they got VR Troopers, Beetleborgs, Mystic Knights, & maybe Masked Rider.

I hope we get that, it would be cool.

They better use the Sentai molds and they better make Power Rangers toys for both kids and adults.

People assume that we will get crossovers when we will probably won't.

Why on earth would you think they won't crossover, when Hasbro is quite literally rebooting all of their action franchises in 2019 and setting them ALL in the same universe, with IDW writing the brand storyline?

Power Rangers is still co-license with Toei. If Hasbro wants to do a Power Rangers crossover with Transformers, G.I Joe or MLP, I would imagine they would have to approve of it first.

Alright, but you still have no evidence that them losing all rights to Sentai footage is actually thing outside of hearsay. Unless you can show me actual proof of them cutting off all ties to Toei, then I'm not going to believe anything you have to say.

When Transformers, GI Joe, Micronauts, Rom, Action Man and MASK all already crossover, and Hasbro Studios and Paramount have announced the new movies of all these franchises will all be set in one shared rebooted continuity, why do you think they wouldn't include Power Rangers?
