Toys will have black base which you attach the form pieces to complete the raider, kind of like Ghost henshin:

Love that his main pose is similar to Ichigo and Kuuga. |

I said earlier but the suit does look more friendly for practical stunts |
Seeing the RKF figure's gimmick made me realize there's no yellow armor anywhere on Zero-One's arms, stressing the grasshopper motif by emphasizing the legs more than usual. This design is doing a whole lot to make me love it. If we get the first trailer and there's a shot where it turns out his eyes light up Faiz-style, I might faint from excitement, because that's about the only way it could get cooler at this point.
That image with the show's start date also just made me realize he's 01 as in like, binary, but I feel like that's only news to me. |
After I am seeing Kamen Rider Zero-One suit design and Progrize Keys in toy catalogues, I have feeling Kamen Rider Zero-One are secret agent and spy just like James Bond and he can unlock security system with his Progrize Keys.
I think the other Kamen Riders (Vulcan, Valkyrie, Horobi, and Jin) also are secret agents too and have spy motif in their suit designs |
So with the new poster showing us a better look Zero-One Rising Hopper is definitely not pure yellow but more of a fluorescent lime/leaf green/yellow-green which I dig. And the small red linings on the suit seems like a nice touch. And is it just me or do the armor pieces feel like they will form their respective animal shapes like Saint Seiya?

Also, Takaiwa has been doing continuous suit roles since MegaRanger, maybe even longer if we count Metal Heroes as well. |

Maybe it'll be represented u the show, but not here in the toys. |

Also got this in mind, Beasts + Progress = EVOLUTION! *Evolto jingles in bg* |
Wonder how you picture the riders personalities and whose sides they’re on. I hope Zero-One, Vulcan and Valkyrie work together.

Press conferences usually announce the cast, staff, sneak preview for the toys, anything else I'm missing?
|
We often get a monster suit and/or clip from the show.

Hasbro needs to start Kamen Rider dubs now.

It's a cool idea to handle the form changes as a one-off figure so they don't have to compromise the articulation or anything for the rest of the figures in the line, but if it ends up as a 5POA thing it may suck. We'll see, I guess. |

I don't need americans to dub Kamen Rider, what I need from american corporations is to stay away from this.
Yes, it would be cool if Kamen Rider was internationally known, but not from american companies, especially not them. Things would get censored with what's happening there. Kamen Rider would be criticized because there are no female lead and so on and so on. Japan is not the US, and the US tends to force their vision of the world into everything they touches... So no, sorry if I'm being political, but currently the US need to stay away from Kamen Rider or anything that is remotely close to the Japanese culture or any foreign culture for that matter. |

So yes, I would wholeheartedly welcome Power Rider or whatever such an adaptation would be named. |
Dubbing and "adapting" are two different things, so far, Ryuki has been adapted the way Sentai was and it was awful.
Also, why are you talking about female characters when I'm talking about censoring? This has nothing to do with what I'm saying. I'm against an official dub because american dubbing of japanese stuff tend to be awful, ( I'm looking at most anime like Dragon Ball, the ghibli movies and so on) Also, we are past the "adapting this thing to an US audience because they wouldn't like the original idea", this is also an idea that must stop. The only thing I would like to see, is an official sub. ( Mind you, I'm like this for american stuff aswell, they are poorly dubbed in French so I watch it in OG version with english sub...) |

You mentioned that it would get panned by the west for not having a female lead when I can assure you Japan's been vocal about that stuff too to the point that Toei and Bandai decided to try Valkyrie. Can we stop this 2002 mentality of 'dubs bad'? As anime got significantly more mainstream, the effort into dubs increased, giving us loads of great performances throughout the years with one of Shonen Jump's biggest hits of late, My Hero Academia, having it's lead dub VA be more praised than the Japanese one |
Ok so :
Perhaps this will convey my mindset and feeling about dubbing/adapting vs subbing better. I'm french, some americans series have good french dub I can't deny that. ( Doctor House, NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, 2 Broke Girls, the original McGuyver) I'd rather watch these series in english with english sub, than in french because some idioms, ideas and jokes are non translatable in other languages. As an example, you say in english that it rains cat and dogs, in french we say that it rains ropes... Also it helps when you try to learn a language. The voice acting done by the original actor is not the same as...a voice actor so even for that I would rather watch a series or movies in its original language. I think that in the long run, that's just a matter of preference because even if I don't understand the language, I'll watch it in original version... As for having female leads, let's just say that Japanese don't express their wants the same way americans do. I find that the american industry way is toxic, if your female is a lead character in a recent movie from Hollywood, it's because it's political. I want a female lead or duo because I want it, not because there is no equity between women and men in this industry. I want a female lead for NO political reason. I don't know how to express myself correctly on this point, so I'm terribly sorry if I'm misunderstood. |

1) Valkyrie is really a woman (and then it ends up being a really androgynous boy, a bit like Uhr actor. Which I wouldn't mind don't get me wrong). 2) If she is, let's see if she doesn't get benched out quickly because plotpoint. Because japan really loves to do that with a passion (like Yuzu in Yugioh Arc-V. Making you believe she is as strong as the protag and will maybe evolve in parallel of him, but then she becomes the damsel in distress after 1/4 or 1/3 of the show). And while I really love Poppy (AND NICO !) and fact she was popular (i didn't know that tbh), she transformed like what ? 5 times ? (I didn't count but I know it's really few times). Now it's a new era, so maybe things can change. if women can be given major roles without cutting them halfway, I will be the first one to be happy. But i'll only trust what I see. |

Poppy scored high on a Premium Bandai poll to get a Ridewatch alongside a bunch of other Riders, though I don't remember the amount of Riders or which ones they all were on the top of my head. I know Cronus won too and I think Scissors won an extra spot there too. Also, for Americans, the conference is tonight so we're going to get a batch of info in about 12 hours |
I want american adaptions no matter how bad they are purely so I can get rider figures for cheaper :p
Bring on a Rider Lightning Collection so I can get Beast and Sasword for cheap |
With several great sub-groups subbing Kamen Rider, and various Rider merch being readily available through HLJ, AmiAmi, BBTS and the like, (aside from some exclusives) I've never really understood why people even want to see it adapted or dubbed for western audiences. Is it really that hard watching something with subtitles?
Some will say it's so Rider merch will show up in western stores, but let's be honest there's not going to be Figuarts hanging from pegs in Wal Marts and Targets. Some American toy company will step in with 5 POA hunks of plastic, or if we're incredibly lucky Hasbro will make gummy-jointed 6.5 inch Riders that don't scale with anything on the Japanese market. Granted, I'm sure something like that would appeal to a fair number of Rider-fans, but I'm not one of them. Not to mention, there's already the whole "Common Rider? Isn't that like a Power Rangers rip-off?" stigma and I feel this would just get worse. Plus, I'm just not interested in watching a watered down extra silly version of a show I've already seen. |

Well, granted that those Power Rangers are far superior than their BOA counterpart...Hasbro is known to use "gummy plastic" and it is still true...It's far gummier than what BOJ gives us with the Figuarts line

I've been collecting Rider stuff for 15 years. I had hundreds of Souchaku Henshin figures, only to replace them with hundreds of figuarts and gimmick line figures. I've even taken the plunge on RKF, since every other Rider figuarts is P-Bandai now. I just don't have it in me to dive into another Rider toyline, especially if it means they use Hasbro's soft-plastic/gummy joints on the elbows and knees. I'm not full-on downing Hasbro's efforts, I just think for the price point, I'd take an RKF over something from the Lightning Collection, primarily because of the types of plastic used and the smoothness of movement. I will admit this though, Lighting Collection > RKF when it comes to paint apps. |
