Okay, new plan guys. Everyone needs to go watch Shin Kamen Rider tomorrow. The person(s) that likes it will be banned (all one half of you) and we can finally all agree of something :D

Anyway, OOO suffered from "Not Double" syndrome, earning it lots of hate.
Fourze got pegged as "Too kiddy", giving it lots of dissenters.
Den-O is tons of fun, but the story is crap, it's villain is forgettable (Kai was a horrible villain :I), and the overall plot is convoluted.
And I've heard people call the Yuuto/Airi romance "Deep and tragic." (Despite the fact that the romance between Ankh and a popsicle being far deeper and more tragic)

Well, I actually did like approximately one half of the content in Shin.

Also, this is how I observed my ideals in viewing Sentai and Kamen Rider in recent years-

Kamen Rider: So much action, badass designs, plot twists, drama, characters dying, strong friendships and bonds, awesome superpowers, catchy theme songs, and awesome roleplay toys.
Super Sentai: Cute Girls. Look at the sig :lolol

The movie was just subbed, no one else had seen or commented about it. I was excited for more Double and OOO Wonderful wasn't out yet...

While those people do exist, there's still a lot of hate coming from die-hard Akibaranger fans. If you look in the comments for the higher viewed videos for the openings of both shows, you'll find a lot of debate and people outright defending one show or the other.

I still think that Shin was conceptually interesting. The idea of making the classic Kamen Rider story more of a body horror monster movie is pretty cool. It's just that the execution was a gigantic mess.

The bathtub thing really wasn't used much past the midway point of the series. And he's not being "emo" by going back in time to erase himself. He's doing it to save the life of the woman he loves whom HE accidentally killed. That's the most ballsy/noble thing I've ever heard of. When Wataru faced a major issue he used Garuru/Basha/Dogga, he awakened Tatsulot for Emeperor Form, he went back in time to make sure he never existed to kill someone he loved, and he made himself King and scared Fangire with just his damn eyes all to protect his older brother.

It also always bugged me how Kiva never felt like he was actually Wataru. His personality as Kiva always seemed so completely different from his normal, mopey, out-of-suit personality.

Kiva, went back in FRAKING TIME itself, to erase himself to save the woman he loves. It's not like he was whining to whine, or was some weak willed dork. He was depressed alot of the time because he had real problem to be depressed about.

I got a few more, this time related to Power Rangers theme songs:

• Jungle Fury's theme song is absolutely amazing.
• The hate for RPM's opening song is undeserved and it's a fantastic theme that works especially well within the context of the show.
• In fact I'd choose the official RPM theme over all the demo ones.
• Power Rangers Turbo's theme is overrated. I really don't like it.

I find the "ending" themes to Kamen Rider shows to be often better than the opening themes.

I agree with all of these things except the last one. Simply because the theme song is one of the few good things Turbo has going for it :lol

I actually thought Turbo improved as the original team left for TJ and the like.

Getting really mad over petty things is totally justified if it's that hipster chick wearing a gaudy Power Rangers tank top which she probably bought from Hot Topic that sits behind me in class.

And on the topic of subs, TVN's subs are perfectly fine as they stand, and are definitely some of the best-looking of all the major subbing groups out there. The Japanese that carries over and the weird naming isn't the end of the world.
