Thought I was going to slow down on my Ultra-Act purchases, then these arrived for me. :D
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04069.jpg I can't get away from these exclusives. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04071.jpg Had to take some pics... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04074.jpg More evil Ultra's please http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04076.jpg You got the touch! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04079.jpg Some kaiju mayhem http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04082.jpg Eleking is a really nice addition to the Ultra-Act line. Another solid figure! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04084.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04086.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04088.jpg Eleking taking care of business! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04092.jpg I may slow down on my purchases a bit, but I'm thinking about troop-building Darclops Zero based on the appearances of the last Ultraman Zero movie. I'll have to hunt around considering the prices are pretty high for this exclusive. This line is addictive! |

I love this design but I'm really not digging Ultimate Zero much as a figure :( Something about the restricted neck movement always makes his head look odd to me.

are the extra bits removable?
|
ultimate zero is the one ua figure that i haven't gotten yet...
|
I got my second ultra act figure today(Mebuis), so far in liking them but not sure I'm going to Dave in to the line yet or not. Perhaps after I get all the wave one go-busters stuff. Dose any one else have trouble keeping mebuis' brace one him?

What. Is. This?
And why hasn't it come out yet? http://www.tokyo-hunter.com/category...ct-jean-killer |

Yeah saw that on the pre-order page. Very disappointing. But not unexpected.
|
Web exclusive or not, I'll be ordering this guy!
I thought Jean-Bot was an amazing piece, but Jean-Killer looks to be one of the best Ultra-Act's so far. |
Some recent acquisitions from the Ultra-Act line:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04119.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04118.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04112.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../DSC04111a.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04110.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04127.jpg I think Jean-Bot is probably in my top five favorite Ultra-Acts. This makes the upcoming Jean-Killer and Gridman even more desirable if they're anything like Jean-Bot! I also like all the different flame weapon options that come with Glenfire. There are so many ways to display him! If you're on the fence on these, get them! They are worth it! |
|
^I haven't watched really any ultraman shows, but man do i want that figure, his design just looks so great

Well, I found this review of the Ultra-Act Ultraman, and it looks like he will scale with the Bandai vinyl Ultra Monsters.

While we're waiting for more announcements, I had this guy arrive over the weekend. :D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04149.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04153.jpg He's a nice addition to the line. The sculpt is pretty solid, and joints are very tight. I'm liking the blue paint apps on him as it's a nice deviation from the typical Ultraman formula with red and silver. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04154.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04157.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04159.jpg Waiting on Gaia next! :D |
My UA Gaia arrived and ended up grabbing a Tiga Powertype version with Gaia.
I only snapped a pic as I'm still debating how I want to display these. I'll take some more pics soon. In the meantime... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04178.jpg |

*throws his first release in the trash where it belongs* |

Man, Bandai and their Ver. 2.0s :(
|
That's the way it is with this hobby. Though Ultraman man really needed a ver 2.0 after that mess of a first release. Which should not have been a mess in the first place.
|
time to put mine up for sale asap.

Well, before these threads becomes abuzz with news from the Tamashii event, I had a few more pieces arrive from the line.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04188.jpg I only need a few figures to actually be current with this line, but that'll change once Zoffy and a few of the newer figures are released. Pics, of course! :D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04189.jpg Kyrieloid's design has grown on me, since I watched him in action on Tiga. The details remind me of something out of the old Spawn toyline. Overall, he's still a nicely sculpted figure. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04191.jpg Next was Leo. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04192.jpg The funny thing about getting Leo is I actually picked up Astra first. So, I kind of knew what kind of figure I would be getting. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04194.jpg He does come with some cool effects for ways to display him. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04194.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04196.jpg I do like the nunchucks that he comes with. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04198.jpg He does compliment Astra nicely with the beam effect they both use. I"ll probably keep them displayed this way. Finally, on to Alien Magma. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04199.jpg There are a number of ways to display him including an alternate head, and several facial expressions. Pretty neat for a relatively plain alien. And because Tiga was handy... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04201.jpg Shades of Godzilla vs. Barkley :P Magma is about to get schooled! Btw, both figures are actually balanced without any stands, so they can have some interesting poses. |

Just received my latest Ultra-Act in the form of Ultraman Dyna (Flash Type).
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04224.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04225.jpg I have to say the designers at Bandai are becoming more innovative with addressing some of the issues that some of the figures had. For one, Dyna uses a body type similar to Gaia with changes to the upper body. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04226.jpg The chest armor is removable to switch with an alternate chest armor that allows better movement for the shoulders and arms. Tiga was especially guilty of his chest armor hindering the shoulders, and limiting some poseability. The changeable chest armor corrects that issue. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04228.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04227.jpg I hope they stick with the ball joint ankles as they're much more stable than some of the older joints that were used. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04229.jpg Dyna approves! Dyna also has the adapter option to plug into the Tamashii stands. Looks like this will be the norm for future Ultras. And, of course... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/DSC04231.jpg I should be on a break with Ultra-Act until Zoffy is released. Thanks for letting me share. :p |

cybergundam has new pics of ultraman 2.0 with the first release. All I have to say is wow.
|
Hah, I had my original Ultraman in that classic pose first time I opened him. Hilarious seeing it now compared to the renewal version.

It really does look like that UltraSeven is a new version doesn't it? I don't recall the original being able to pose like that.

Seeing how fast Zoffy sold out everywhere, I hope BBTS gets their allotment in and doesn't cancel my preorder...
|
If BBTS doesn't get enough stock in, something worse than that will happen. Your preorder will remain open indefinitely, in the slightest hope that it will be fulfilled and giving you false hope that they'll come through. Meanwhile stock everywhere else will turn up, sell out, and leave you at the mercy of the secondary market.
Give 'em a month or so because it does take BBTS a while to receive their Bluefin stock, but if you see as good a deal or better crop up later, consider going for that instead. |
Fingers crossed I get mine from BBTS, then, I guess...he's way too expensive on eBay.

Bluefin won't be getting them due to licensing trouble. So much for getting a Zoffy! Apparently. UPDATE: Good news - BBTS says they ordered theirs through a Japanese distributor. So, it's still possible, if they get their allotment. UPDATE UPDATE: Aaaaaaaand I got an email from BBTS saying they're cancelling my Zoffy preorder. So, no Zoffy for me, I guess. Really glad I pre-ordered the new Ultraman via AmiAmi. UPDATEx3: Zoffy appears to be back in stock at AmiAmi. I put an order in, we'll see if it actually goes through. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/det...%24pagecnt%3D1 |
