On Tuesday I'll finish Go Busters Episodes 49 and 50 as I got a Brazilian
release with English sub. Next I continue Kyo Ryu which got us Dino Charge. As for Kyo I like the series so far actually. I also started To Q and am on #17. I'm mid point on both Ninja Ranger and Ryu Soul (Dino Fury). Zyu Oh is a pretty decent series to watch actually. I'm finishing Oh as well. I've liked all the shows dating back to 2002 (Hurricane Ranger). The franchise has been good since then and not let up so hopefully the hot steak continues to hold. |

1. Gokagier 2. Lupinranger VS Patranger 3. Go-Busters 4. Kyoryuger 5. Toqger 6. Ryusoulger 7. Kyuranger 8. Zyuohger 9. Ninninger 10. Goseiger https://twitter.com/pisces__88/statu...796315654?s=20 https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E4-ylAgW...g&name=900x900 |
Goseiger being so low is a travesty!
|
I'm surprised Go-Busters is all the way up at #3! I'm not surprised Gokaiger is at #1 with twice as many votes as Go-Busters!
|
I'm honestly surprised that Goseiger is in the top 10, considering the awful rep is has over here in the West.

Any and all Go-Busters fans upon seeing the ranking the show has in comparison to most Sentai shows of the 2010s:

I'm suprised Lupin Vs Pat is so high, I've only heard bad things about that one.
|
Japan, your tastes astound me, with LuPat so high and Zyuoh so low.
Jeez, lemme guess. Zenkaiger is actually tanking in Japan? It seems any series I enjoy Japan seems to hate >> |

Some opinions are a bit predictable and what I'd expect, like Goseiger being last by default and IMO Kyoryuger being overrated (sorry but I just found the feel of that show offputting even if I wasn't that big on Go-Busters either! :p) but I'm surprised Ninninger did so badly seeing as I seem to be the only one that doesn't like Kyoryuger but does like Ninninger! I'm impressed to see Toqger enter the top 5 though, that was among my favourites!
|
Well I've liked the series from Hurricane Ranger forward.
I recently finished Go Busters which triggers my power Rangers problem thus the switch over full time. To Qu , Zyu Oh , Kyu Ranger and Lu Pat had gotten skipped by Hasbro and Saban. I will be finishing these 4 shows which will off set for having been skipped by the USA for adaptions. that's the second reason for the change over. Hasbro is likely to skip again in 2023 which if that's the case they may go straight to Zen Kai Ranger as it's the 45th which would really tick me off as I was hoping Kira Mage would get adapted. This would be a wasted opportunity by Hasbro. |

Toqger definitely seems to be one of those shows that either overcame initial unpopularity, or the dislikers for it were just a loud minority to begin with. It definitely seems to get a lot of love from all corners of the fandom these days whenever it's brought up, I find! I've even had multiple people have it as their first Sentai and love the franchise from that point forward
|
ToQger was so great. I hope Toei gives the Train motif another go. I think it was just a very divisive show all around- the suits, the lead, the plot, the mecha. Everyone seems to have an opinion on it.
You really can't underestimate the appeal of trains! Maybe Dinosaur + Trains will be the next big thing! The Shinkalion anime series which focuses entirely on trains continues to be one of the hottest franchises in Japan. Also Den-O is still popular and the Den-Liner even made it onto the latest Senki poster! Trains! |
Admittedly, I went into watching ToQger with very little expectations, like I did with Goseiger and Go-Busters before it, but I can definitely say that I’m glad that I watched this series and a lot of the show is surprisingly well-done. I even watched the one-hour spring break crossover special they had with Kamen Rider Gaim which I find to be very enjoyable.

Well, they’re at it again. This time, they’re ranking OPs and EDs from the noughties period (no polls for the others yet). Even one-offs.

What are your thoughts on these results? What are your favourites? How many of these do you actually recognise? Let me know. |
Well, I guess one thing to go by this is that Psychic Lover is GOAT having taken the first and second place slots within the top 10. Personally a shame Time Fire's theme did not make it.

Saw the last several episodes of Liveman, and I'm not sure if this was the right way to end that series!
Spoilers follow! I still don't know how Kemp's brain can be harvested and still leave the body intact and conscious while having the brain express itself later on. The finale episode ended so weirdly with no real conclusion or fate for the team and I still don't have a good answer as to who or what Bias truly is. It doesn't seem like the team ever fully realized who Bias is. I must have missed something somewhere. Everything felt pretty standard in the last episode with nothing really shocking happening. Gush had more focus than Bias! As good as much of the series is, this felt rather flat. |
So Simon Bennet the director/producer of Power Rangers was asked some questions on adapting some Sentai shows, and well, he got some "interesting" answers on why they wont...

Guess if nothing else in regarding Power Rangers adaptations of certain Super Sentai seasons, there’s always fanfiction.
|
They are getting busy with other stuff right now.

Listening to fan theories can be a nightmare for showrunners, since then if the theory is adapted, people will point out that it's possibly plagiarized and thus said fan would be owed possible compensation and it would be a massive black mark on the writers' resume.

Since I?ve been doing reviews of VS movies for the last few months, and I?ve found out some interesting facts about some of the last few, I thought I?d share them here.
Kyoryuger vs Go-Busters The idea of the three Dinosaur Sentai teaming up was suggested for the summer movie, but was moved to the VS movie because they wouldn?t have time to tell such a story in 30 minutes. The Kyoryuger?s being brainwashed into dinosaur hunters was so that they would stand out on the movie poster, according to producer Ohmori. The ToQgers? cameo was originally meant to be filmed with the involvement of ToQger?s crew, but Sakamoto went ahead and filmed it himself in advance. Instead of Neo-Grifforzer, the film would?ve had a daughter of Witch Bandora as one of its villains. ToQger vs Kyoryuger The reason that the two casts barely interact is because of the Kyoryuger cast, only Ryo Ryusei (Daigo) was available for the whole shoot. The Ninninger cameo was shot one month in advance and was rewritten by that show?s director Shojiro Nakazawa to match their characterisation in Kento Shimoyama?s scripts, since none of their episodes had entered production. The appearance of Deboss?s creator was suggested by Takaaki Utsunomiya, whereas Ohmori was against the character appearing in anything. Zyuohger vs Ninninger According to Gaku Matsumoto (Yakumo/AoNinger), since the previous Sentai crossovers that were produced during the anniversary works didn't have a crossover with the previous team, some of the cast members expected that Zyuohger VS Ninninger would be Zyuohger VS Super Sentai. Lupinranger vs Patranger vs Kyuranger An interview in 2019 with Junko Komura stated that, since LupPat VS Kyu was written by Naruhisa Arakawa, that movie was the first time Naruhisa Arakawa had written a work featuring Noel/Lupin X/Patren X, who appeared after the former left the show after episode 19. LupPat VS Kyuranger's director Hiroyuki Kato admitted that he never establish a definite timeline for the movie, because the end of LupPat hadn't been decided during the filming. An interview with the staff of LupPat VS Kyuranger stated that Kato thought of a backstory where Don Arkage wasn't Don Armage's replacement, but a separate character created by Dr Anton to look exactly like Don Armage. Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger vs Lupinranger vs Patranger It was impossible to have the three Reds together in one scene because of scheduling conflicts, and since Lucky worked with Keiichiro in LupPat VS Kyu, it was Bamba, who felt like another team's leader, who worked with Keiichiro, while Koh worked with Kairi. Melto was paired with Noel to handle the "smart talk", and Asuna was also partnered with Melto and Noel due to scheduling conflicts. Canalo was paired with Tsukasa, a female character, again, for scheduling reasons, and his preference. The visit to Touma's restaurant was used to subtly show the current relationship between the Lupinrangers and the Patrangers. Upon hearing that the feature would end in a Pretty Cure collaboration, Junko Komura inserted Cure Grace?s catchphrase ?I feel so alive? (生きてるってカンジ! Ikiteru tte kanji!?) into the script. |
So I found out that Akibaranger's Z-Cune Aoi was supposed to get some kind of manga adaptation by Kentaro Yabuki (author of Black Cat and To-love Ru) or something. I went to find it but the only thing I found was an illustration he made of Aoi. I guess that's cool? A bit disappointed its not a manga adaptation but the art's pretty cool.

Reading Z-Cune and Yabuki is all I needed from that.
And now I'm kinda sad about it. |
Something has always bothered me about the Gekiranger suits, but I've never been able to pinpoint what it was....until today.
They don't have belts. |

I was thinking and, considering there are the sounds in the Mobilates for them, I think I know how they will release the Kikainoid Zenkaigers as Ranger Keys: Remold them from the "Megazord Keys". Remember that in Gokaiger X Go-Busters, there were these Ranger Keys used by the Mecha, Go-Buster Ace, Buster Hercules, Go-Buster Lioh, GoZyuJin, and GokaiOh to become the Legend Sentai Mecha Flash King, Daizyujin, RyuseiOh, GaoKing, MagiKing, DaiBouken, and GekiTohja.
Go-Buster Ace used Flash King's, RyuseiOh's, and GekiTohja's Keys, GoZyuJin used Daizyujin's Key, Go-Buster Li-Oh used GaoKing's Key, Buster Hercules used MagiKing's Key, and GokaiOh used DaiBouken's Key. They might base the Kikainoid Zenkaigers (Juran, Gaon, Magine, and Vroon) off the Megazord Key Mold instead of the regular Ranger Key Molds considering that they are based upon the Main Giant Robos of 4 Ranger Teams. They could even just slightly tweak the Molds for the Daizyujin, GaoKing, MagiKing, and DaiBouken Keys to more resemble the 4 Kikainoids. |
Oh, are there unique sounds in the Mobirates for all five Zenkaigers?? That's very surprising
|
Quote:
Even if they didn't have the sounds, they still are missing a lot of Ranger Keys. I mean, they don't even have the Keys for the Remaining Zenkaigers, but they got 5 Ranger Keys (or Resoger Keys) for the Akibarangers? What? |
I just found out that this amazing lady (Lenne Hardt) was the voice behind the Geartlinger. I'm in awe of her vocal range!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksN9ICI24WU |
She's pretty incredible! She was also the voice behind some of the Super Hero Time bumpers back in the day; with a pretty distinctive "Super Herrrro Time!" that the Geartlinger reminds some of
|
Well with Shout Factory bringing them over would they keep going through Zen? By then the sets would be Blu Ray. The DVD sets would end at some point. I'm not sure if we'd see any more DVDs after Magi so I was curious. Would Blu Ray start at Bouken? Power Rangers went all the way to Super Ninja Steel on DVD.
