Gold Plastic Syndrome hasn't been a mjor thing in years, and it usually takes quite a while to set in. If it were the case, I don't think it would be this obvious this early.

As tempting as it is to grab Rogue and Grease Blizzard, NOPE. They're priced weirdly high, for no clear reason. Even the Ride Armors are 20+ Dollars.

You could literally hop on BBTS right now and get SHF Build for slightly less than that. It's insane.

They were...definitely out of their minds when they decided to sell RKFs in the states. It's absolutely insane how fast these figures drop in price. You can't even buy RKFs at MSRP; they're literally always discounted even if you pre-order them or buy them day 1. I have no idea who asked them to carry these figures or who is actually silly enough to buy them. Whoever's buying them, I feel so fucking sorry on their behalf, given that I've seen completely mint RKFs for as low as 4 USD...and those ones still can't sell.

I appreciate what Tokullectibles is trying to do for fans in the states, but this is one of those situations where it seems like they're trying to scalp as hard as BBTS lol

On Amazon, the japanese sellers are literally bundling 10-12 RKF, from figures to ride armors, and trying to sell them off for 30- 35 bucks, and ppl are still not biting. I get that Tokullectibles is a buisness, but its a bad idea to invest in a line like RKF for sales, especially after seeing how quick the previous releases were marked down, even the all-star characters, and theyre still not moving. Hopefully, Tokullectibles clearances these out at some point and we can all get them for dirt cheap in the states with their free shipping lol.

I also really like by the way that we have threads and discussions on here about what the upgrade items could look like, and we're coming up with stuff like scrolls and tablets as those are book-adjacent or what could be seen as an evolution of books.

But Jaou Dragon's a pop-up book, it has to be bigger than usual to accomodate all those little plastic part and joints inside.

Japanese entertainment may be, um, slightly religiously insensitive at times but I don't think they're THAT insensitive.

As for the final form though, maybe a book based on the Book of Ancients the SOL is mentioned to protect? All Wonder Ride Books are said to be 'pages' of the book after all, and Kamen Rider LOVES to blend previous forms together for final forms.

I guess christian elements are just what they think is "cool". Kinda like how they think speaking in english is cool. Noticed that during my trip to Japan and some high school kids would be impressed by this other kid who would make english words.

Yeah, I remember an interview with the creator of Evangelion who said that they used Christian themes because during the time of production there wasn't much knowledge of Christianity in Japan; people knew of it, but they weren't really familiar with it, so they used it to add a feel of 'mystery' to the show.

He said they would've thought twice before using it if they knew it would eventually be distributed worldwide though.

I'm still not interested due to the scale, and I'll still joke that it's funny that this is the year they got good when SO-DO have also upped their game... but good god, looking at some of the upcoming images for RKF Calibur this line seriously got amazing this year; they're incredibly expressive and I can't find a single detail they missed despite the very complex crazy designs (belts and weapons aside, but they STILL look good). They make the Zi-O and Zero-One lines look like a joke; I would easily have picked up a few of these if they were 6'

RKF Calibur is enough to get me back into the line. I actually just bought all of the Saber Riders because they dropped in price SO fast.

These figures are absolutely fucking godawful at full price, but at half price? Fuck yeah. Hopefully Calibur won't be as hard to pick up as Ark-Zero/Ark-One. So far, Saber has had excellent RKF releases. I really cannot wait to see what's in store for us with Dragonic Knights.

I honestly got a bit upset at the RKF line when Zero-One releases started coming out. It was an absolute joke. Horobi and Jin literally looked like soft vinyl figures in terms of paint, and didn't even come with accessories. Shining Hopper never came out. Shining Assault Hopper and Assault Wolf never got their weapons. I've got plenty to bitch about lol but I'll stop there.

All in all, I just really miss Legend Rider releases. They used to pump them out SO fast. I would've loved to see older series get RKF releases, aside from W.

I don't blame you on getting upset at Zero-One's RKF line -- Horobi and Jin definitely stand out as some of the worst, though for me what really got me was seeing the images for Rampage Gatling and especially Burning Falcon. So many details missing that made those designs pop, and the two shades of red they used for Burning looked ghastly together. There's similar issues on almost every figure in the line, and the Zi-O line while having more details filled in; still wasn't that much better.

The Legend Rider line on the other hand (including Ohma Zi-O), was so much more amazing and just got better all the time. I'm sure there were a few duds though outside of Ex-Aid/Genm Maximum being a lot smaller than they should have been I'm struggling to come up with any; they all looked on par with that Calibur figure up there which is why I'm so impressed. I guess this is just where they put all their budget before?

Oh yeah, Rampage Gatling and Burning Falcon were offenders, too. The metallic red actually makes Burning Falcon bearable for me, though. The bigger offender for me is that the Slashriser is smaller than the SO-DO's lol it looks pathetic when you have him hold it.

The Legend Riders are suuuuuuuuuuuch a win. Honestly it's SUCH a massive shame that the line improved AFTER they released a metric fuck ton of Legend Riders. The butterfly joints in the shoulders make such a huge difference.
