The number for the Liveman gear is 13, not 49.

The name of Liveman’s Red hero is Red Falcon, not LiveRed.

I feel that tomorrow's episode is going to undo everything I speculate on regarding this. I'm a few episodes behind, and only watched the movie yesterday, so I didn't realise it was going to tie in until after I looked up the name of the sword on the wiki.

Neat read as always, but it did undo it heh. Yuri and Bacht were bros.

Obviously, the staff of Saber are keenly reading my fic, and each week trying to find new ways to undo me... or not. :p It's my own fault, really. I knew that it wouldn't go the way I wanted, I just really wanted Bacht to have something more motivating him than "I don't like people."

Oh... wait, actually, that's my motivation. Oh no, do I not have a detailed enough backstory?!

You absolutely can, but only if you promise to spend your days stomping around a beach with your comedy devil sidekick. Gosh. I have a Kenzan story I have been meaning to write for ages actually, but I worry about not being able to capture his character adequately.

It's a wonderful resource, I am glad to have it, but I do wish it was more consistent.

Hello, this is a post in which I try to convince you to engage with me. I hate writing stuff like this, because I always feel super self-conscious, but for a while last year, I was posting successive chapters of a story on ff.net as a homage to DJ Diddy Dog's Tournament Kamen Rider fic from 2008, and I thought that I'd quite like to pick this up again—only, in order to make it work, I need your OCs.

I think I've touched on the fact that I really am in love with the creativity of toku fandom a few times before, but this stuff is really my bread and butter, possibly more so than many of the actual shows themselves recently, and short little projects such as this are my way of expressing my admiration for that creativity.

Ergo—and keeping in mind that I'm still running another Saber flavoured serial on Sundays, and also have other commitments—if you would be interested in submitting an OC for me to use, and you are okay with me taking things in my own direction as I feel the story dictates, then please PM me here or on ff.net. I'm currently looking for characters of one of the five following archetypes, and you're welcome to assign your OC a pre-existing armour/belt if necessary, as long as you understand that I will tweak these elements. The categories are thus:

• Kamen Rider
• Super Sentai/Power Rangers
• Ultraman
• Metal Heroes
• Sailor Scouts

If you want more than what is highlighted, and actually want me to genuinely write stories for your OCs, then I'm open to that as a commission, because, ah, I still need to pay my bills, so please message me or visit me on patreon and we'll talk about that, I would genuinely be interested in the challenge and I think there is room to make something really cool with stuff like this.

Well I did once come up with an OC Rider based on the seasons. But since I couldn’t think of anything beyond basic form changes, I abandoned it and tried reworking it as a Pretty Cure thing. I guess I could submit it here (though I haven’t brainstormed a name, I’m sure you could help in that regard)

That sounds like a wild tonal shift! I'd absolutely be up for hearing more!

Well there isn’t much to say about the later creative process. I basically decided to name them after the 4 seasons, but then Tropical Rouge gave us an official Cure Summer and I couldn’t think of a good enough replacement name, so the concept is currently in development hell. Though I do have some ideas in terms of powers. Cure Spring would have wind based abilities, the summer Cure would have fire-based powers, Cure Autumn would have plant powers and Cure Winter would have ice powers. (If they don’t sound particularly inspired, it’s because I only got inspired to make them up after it came up here)

PreCure seems very popular with toku fans. I guess it's the time slot, being on just before Rider and sentai, and, of course, the "Madoka Effect" by which the magical girl genre has been deconstructed and attracted an audience of people who maybe wouldn't have watched these shows previously. I sort of stopped watching the shows after the first two or three shows, but I did quite like them whilst I was keeping current. Maybe I should go back and catch up with some of those other titles.

tl;dr you should definitely do something with this idea, it sounds like you're in a unique position to blend these ideas and make something special.

Consider me wanting to provide some sort of interaction if only because all this talk about Rider OC's reminds me of like the gigantic amount I've made over the years for either Rider RP's I found on FF.net or one's I've made.

Really the only original (not based on any series) one of them that's really stuck and I attempted to make a story for was a Video Game Kamen Rider that I eventually got demotivated to write for after looking at Ex-Aid and being like "How do I even do this now that my dream has come true to an extent?" anyway, his name was Kamen Rider Rez, and I've mostly been retooling him as of late.

Thought I'd throw in a ramble and interact some more with the creative folk on this forum.

Please do get involved! I absolutely love the creative side of the fandom, so I will go to impossible lengths to encourage people to come in and get reading and writing and drawing and creating!

Also, the name Rez instantly makes me nostalgic for the Dreamcast so you're already +1 in my book

Ah thanks, yeah I sorta had an idea for a story with this Rider for a while. It didn't go much of anywhere and then I attempted to do a sorta soft reboot titled Re:Rez where you guessed it, I renamed the Rider as Kamen Rider Re:Rez and implemented a new form system as opposed to the old clunkier form system I had in place.

But then other inspirations came and I sorta tried to do stuff with various crossover styled Rider stories and Riders. So I haven't been able to really do much with Re:Rez other than maybe slate him for RP testing purposes.

But I am definitely tempted to get on board with this, if only because discussing and reading stuff has sort of reminded me of the good old days of making Rider OC's. Rez in general is probably one of the three furthest OC's I've utilized. The other two being a W and Ghost OC that I ended up fleshing out the most out of my RP related Riders.

Re:Rez sounds equally as fun! I keep thinking of it as a cast off form for your initial suggestion, which I'm sure wasn't the intention but it's me trying to have my cake and eat it.

I must admit this stuff, the challenge of trying to work around things, of trying to find new ways in which to fit OCs into stories and give them the respect due is one of my favourite things to do. I think they're often sort of unfairly maligned, but I really have a soft spot for them and stories that employ them, especially ones that are quite grand in scale.

As today is Anno Hideaki's birthday, I wanted to eschew my usual Friday posting date in favour of today. I thought a lot about what I could create today in honour of one of my favourite creators, and I kept coming back to themes of identity that were decidedly missing from the sheer amount of Gridman episodes I recently watched but felt as implicitly understated to me as they did in Tsuburaya's sibling franchise, Ultraman. I've discussed this idea before, yet as Anno and longtime collaborator, Higuchi Shinji's Shin Ultraman is due for release later this year, I thought that now might be as good a time as any to explore the idea anew, thus, I came up with this:
