Well to start with, it was Niko and Ryo/Binge Buddy (who I know have been fairly long time contributors of yours. Then Die joined in with episode 4, a few episodes later it was MangaArtist18/Kou-san, then a character my list describes as “ ME!!!!” and hen finally Enchilada645.

Putotyra is best edit! :lol
We finally get the explanation for why Greeed get stronger despite losing their Core Medals. It's due to the high level of Core Energy inside the Refinement Sector, which has the unfortunate side effect of making them go insane. Got to feel some pity for Uva here. Quote:

Ryo and Kousan join me in fighting with and talking about Tajador and Eternal.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJu2cni6RoI --- And yeah, we got Tajador. https://i.imgur.com/qynmLwW.png --- New Activity: Quote Association! I'm gonna type a list of things various characters have said, and you have to tell which quote was said by which character. First to get 'em all right wins. Here we go! "Seiya!" "Don't ask me questions." "Well let's see. One, two, three... man, whatever!" "I'm not the hand you need to reach out to anymore." "Half-boiled." "There's only one person who can stop you, and that's me!" "When I crush my enemies to scrap, it's by my own rules!" |
Ah yes, Tajador time.
Anyway I get your complaint about the Brave Taka Head but also normal Taka would have looked weird. Not to mention the fact that the chest is also different and unified with the head medal crest changing to match the other two parts. I will say though despite having the Professor Aida stuff spelled out, I honestly thought things would have gone a tad more differently in the endgame. But I'll say that for when we actually get there. |

Not sure about the rest. As far as opinions on Eternal go, a lot of what you were talking about reminds me of my opinions of Galza, the villain from Kiramager (who’s VA coincidentally voiced Eternal here). In his last episode, the shoe expects us to believe he’s someone worth of redemption… even though all of his appearances beforehand have set him up as utterly unsympathetic, with all but one of the good guys rightfully hating him and four of them (including the one who didn’t hate him) having very good reasons to do so. And it basically throws out all the build up to him being the ultimate evil the heroes have to thwart in favour of a generic bad guy who doesn’t even have an long term plan he’s carrying out (the final two episodes are just him basically carrying out a monster of the week plot on a massive scale). |
Looks like I totally called DreamSword's dislike of Tajadol's red eyes. Yeah, it would have been better if they saved something like that as distinction for its appearance in the finale, as a visual to show that Ankh is fighting with Eiji in spirit. My favorite shot of Tajadol is in Movie War Core where the eyes are green for like a second.
Also, where did Ankh get those Kujaku and Condol Medals from? Eiji revived him from the broken Taka Medal and a pile of Cell Medals infused with Core Energy, so how does Ankh suddenly have Kujaku and Condol out of nowhere? I only used Tajadol in this Sector since the next time I played OOO was the big gate before Central Tower. But it makes sense they would save OOO's highest DPS combo for late game like they did with LunaJoker for Double, even though those forms originally debuted before Shauta and HeatJoker respectively. Eternal is one of my favorite Movie Riders alongside Gaoh and Barlckxs. I think Shoutarou summarized here why Daido is someone who we should maybe feel pity for, since he had mostly bad experiences of humanity throughout his life that caused him to fall in to despair. I'm not saying that justifies trying to turn everybody in to NEVERs to make him feel less lonely but the tragedy is that he could have been a hero if things were different and Foundation X didn't totally screw up his whole life. I actually really enjoyed his V-Cinema as a prequel to the summer movie for how it shows Daido as a victim himself and someone who deserved better than what he got. Phillip is actually physically present since he ported himself in to the Xtreme Memory, which also explains how a certain New Game + form is possible. Quote:

Although now this makes me wonder, who do they have carrying Philip's' body everywhere? Or is just perma-stuck in the Xtreme Memory? Either scenario is really funny to me; Just imagining them all taking turns carrying him, or the Xtreme Memory totally just floating right off screen for the entire game. Quote:
https://i.imgur.com/12QZSOa.png The answer is Shotaro. Although OZC translates it slightly differently than what I originally read. So, I'll give this round to Sh Ranger. |
En-chan, Ryo, and I have a discussion about redemption arcs while ending the Sonozaki family.
I really liked how this episode turned out, honestly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z582tS0nlY8 --- New Activity: Heisei Generations Forever features a medley of all of the Heisei Era OPs. Name the order in which they are played. |

I am so sorry for my actions this episode, as I made the mistake of mentioning he-who-should-not-be-named, and as such it erupted into pure chaos.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTElum4tBJE But yeah, we are now right before the finale, and as such it's been decided: The order of the Final Battle will be Zero-One, OOO, and Double to close things off! Funnily enough that's pretty close to my preferred order of Zero-One, Double, and then OOO. --- Broke: https://i.imgur.com/GG8GFdD.png Bespoke: https://i.imgur.com/n0xAcwT.png --- THE FINAL ACTIVITY! Starting with Part 3 of this LP, I've made a reference to a different Rider season at the start of each episode. Name every season I referenced, in order of the episodes I referenced them in. Bonus point if you can SOMEHOW guess where the "[X] is blonde now" joke I used twice early on came from. |
I think the reason that Mukachiri and really, the rest of the toy core medals end up in such mismatched colors is because they aren't specifically tied to any Greeed. Like this alongside the other Toy Core Medals + Poseidon's are considered Future Core Medals. And their big explanation, at least according to Kougami was that they were supposed to run on pure desire in order to avoid the Greeed issue. Plus it's likely just a theming thing to set them apart from the other Medals.
But Mukachiri is still the outlier even in the set of Future Medals. Purely because the other exclusive forms have at least two medals that share a similar color palette with the third being the outlier. While Mukachiri has all three different colors. Also funny how you all talk about the Black Core Medals, since they become Orange and Pink respectively when it comes to the Toy Exclusive version. lol Still it was a nice surprise on how OOO got to get a new exclusive form to be like playable. And I was super hype when they teased it at the end of that one trailer. |
Man, I must have no life if I went to the trouble of actually doing the final activity.
3. Gaim 4. Ex-Aid 5. Build 6. Hibiki 7. Kuuga 8. Faiz 9. W 10. Drive 11. Kiva 12. Blade 13. Den-O 14. Fourze 15. Zero-One 16. Ryuki 17. Ghost 18. Kabuto 19. Decade 20. Saber 21. You know the worst thing about Zeus Xtreme is not that it's a boss with a bad camera. It's that with all of Zeus' 'power' he couldn't get good dental for his lower lion head thing. Look at those buck teeth!

It shows how unfamiliar I am with this game that I failed to realise we were doing the time resets until I saw the first part. I just assumed Greeed!Aida came before Zeus, because that sounds like the sort of thing that these stories do.

What a great end.
I will say that was probably the most insane recording I've ever been a part of. The most I've ever gotten in terms of other people talking with me has been three for a total of four. I'm impressed we managed to get it fairly good with seven people talking. |
I'm a little envious, but it probably would've been too much with 8. I think 7 is often the sweet spot number of Rangers per Sentai.
The plot twist with Professor Aida (pronounced あいだ, not えいだ) appearing out of nowhere to usurp Zeus' position as final boss was surprising to me as well. I maintain that AI herself is innocent though, since she was just carrying Aida's consciousness in addition to her own. Phillip's caution paid off, just not in the way he expected. I also thought Phillip's secret sabotage was a little contrived. How could he have done that without Shoutarou noticing, when they're literally attached?! I really love how wide and climactic that final boss arena is and how the game finishes where it began. I got some excellent use out of Flying Falcon here for the Zeus Xtreme fight. Defeating the bosses in Extreme Survival to prevent them from coming back in other timelines reminded me of the Omega Dungeon in Final Fantasy XIII LR, which is the only plausible way to eradicate nektons. Anyway, back to Memory of Heroez, I'm thinking of starting my Extreme replay in maybe September. I'll abstain from using that World's Best Boss accelerator cause it looks way too broken but I look forward to doing some cool stuff with Accel and Zero Two using the infinite RP/EX. |

Here's what the Discord group I have going have lovingly called the "DreamSword Cut" of the finale:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35nYYKC0RQY It's basically just the finale in full with some fixes to some minor editing mistakes I noticed that I doubt anyone else did. By the way, that awesome thumbnail art? Made by En-chan! Thanks a ton dude! https://i.imgur.com/urt80fU.png It's also here that I should probably announce the winner of the contest that this thread had going! I've gone through every post and counted, and the results are... Androzani: 5 Sh Ranger: 6 En-chan: 4 GrandComplete: 1 Daikaijuman: 1 As such, the winner is Sh Ranger! I did promise a prize to whoever won, and I meant it. So, if you wanna claim it, feel free to PM me. That said, we're essentially all said and done. I have one more video I wanna make: Showing off what all the upgrades do since I couldn't find proper time to do it in the LP proper, but otherwise, yeah, this project has basically come to a close. What a wild ride. Once again, thanks to everyone who participated. Whether it be being a co-commenter, posting in the thread, or even if you just watched along! You all did a great job and showed me up at every turn! I dunno if I'll ever do something like this for the boards again, but should this game get a sequel, or another Toku game come out with an English translation? You better believe I'll be there. |
Here me out I got a crazy idea what about a Tokunation podcast? Y'know like just a bunch of forum users wanting to chat and discuss toku together. Even if I didn't participate much it was fun hearing a bunch of somewhat familar faces together in one setting like this. Don't mind me congrats on everybody here and It seemed like real blast eveybody putting this together.

Glad you enjoyed watching along! |
After discussing it over PMs withe Sh Ranger, we have decided on one final challenge.
This one being a tiebreaker between Sh Ranger and Androzani! Anyone else is free to participate, but the grand prize will only be handed out to one of these two members. Everyone else in the thread gets to help in another way, however. The challenge, should you choose to accept it, is a writing challenge, and one I decided to keep simple. The prompt is as follows: During the final episode of the LP, we all discussed how despite the plot not being bad overall, it definitely gets muddy in certain areas. Write me an essay discussing what you would've liked to have seen done differently, expanded upon, cut, what have you. Judging will be decided via not just my own reactions to each post, but everyone else's' as well. So, have at it. |
Apologies if I made the final challenge too difficult. I can think of another, simpler one if you two so wish.
|
No, it’s okay. I’ve just had a lot on my mind that’s not really given me time to commit to it.
But if I had to give an answer, I’d probably go with making some of the more unclear aspects of the storyline more apparent. For instance, I would make something of a clear distinction between Aida and Ai. I’d also remove a few out of nowhere elements or add in a bit more foreshadowing (ie, showing Eternal revert to a black leather uniform after being defeated for good, even thought that doesn’t happen for the other clones). Bare in mind I’m mostly going off what I remember of the finale. It has been a while. |
And I was just waiting for confirmation from my worthy opponent that this showdown is happening. So now here's my thoughts on the plot and how it could have been improved:
I would have liked more clarity regarding the sudden appearance of Lost Ankh, since he was absent during the Greeed and Zeus meeting, and why that Taka Medal was even left floating in Central Tower in the first place. It doesn't make much sense that his form is incomplete either, since the black-rimmed Core Medals should have compensated the way it did for the others. Proto Birth's appearance is kind of weird as well, not Date, but the Rider specifically. Kougami Foundation have had 10 years to upgrade that to the current model. However, I suppose that might be for the same reason that they sent Eiji to Sector City without any Medals, cause they're just that lazy. I like that belly flop move he does though. Make Aruto a character in the story, not just the gameplay. While he's still an important asset to the team, filling in for AI when she gets abducted, using his knowledge of artificial intelligence, it would have been nice if he at least had a development arc during one of the sectors, being the new guy. Just to establish Double and OOO as the wiser and more experienced sempai Riders by allowing them to pass on the morals they learned. |
Hmm, thinking on it, I feel like both have good points in one aspect they mentioned each.
Androzani wanting Ai and Aida to be more distinct and clear and Aruto having a bit of an arc. --- My Participation into the ideas though since you did offer that any of us could do it (was waiting for the two actual contestants to go so I wouldn't really be giving out idea): Now see I'd go further than that. But lemme spin you a tale of what I'd probably do for this game and what might happen eventually because I might write a fanfic adaptation of Memory of Heroez for one of my stories. To be honest there's a lot of solid stuff already with W and OOO so I'll focus on Zero-One for most of this. -Given everyone's like unfamiliarity with Zero-One, I'd push this a step further, make it actual dimension hopping via Core Energy with him. And he follows not to look at cool AI stuff but to get back tech that got stolen from him suddenly. -That tech ends up making a few more Mini-bosses in the form of the various Magia, a recurring one that's the same one each time being Dodo. -Zero-One shows up at a much earlier interval and is part of the Pro-Ai club with Shotaro, wanting to believe in the good in Ai, also comment if Foundation X can be sued because of Ai's name. But this becomes a much more clear tension between Philip and Shotaro. -There's some bits of Aida resurfacing other than the one point at the end, to make things more suspicious. Though every time Zero-One tries to check Ai, he finds her programming is fine. Thus going towards the idea of Ai and Aida being two entities in one body, but Aida being dormant, slowly growing more awake the deeper into the island they go. -Aida resurfacing also causes some things to happen with the Humagears stolen, them turning into Magia and you notice that when you approach some at a certain point they've already destroyed what guards are in the area. -Muchiri is developed and while powerful, is not a suitable body to put Aida into despite the Core Energy. So Aida starts secretly having the Magia work to give her a proper body. -Zeus steals Ai as usual but we get a scene of him attempting to extract Aida's consciousness only for it to not be there. Cue increased attacks against the heroes due to his anger at not having Aida. -This is post series Zero-One, and we go full tilt with Terror's power where he incapacitates everyone but Zero-One powers through and kicks his ass because the terror field cannot hope to stand up against a Zero-One who lived through his whole series, especially the end. -Instead of Proto Birth showing up (it would be relegated to a form change for Goto) at the end, you'd have Vulcan showing up the backup Zero-One with the button pressing stuff. -Zeus' fight happens as normal, he tries to gather Core Energy but everyone is faster than he is and start damaging the Core Energy towers/siphoning them. Zeus Extreme is unable to happen as Muchiri takes the stage to stall so he can recover. Muchiri ends up getting fully taken out completely. -Aida shows up in probably a super robot body, maybe one of the late game Zero-One bosses and talks to Zeus about how he can't do anything without her, and that she'll be the one who ends the Riders so they can continue their work uninterrupted, having found a good use for Humagears with Core Energy. (No sudden betrayal here folks!) -You see Zero-One's going to grow very attached to Ai during all of this, and he's going to end up being angry at Aida for thinking of Ai as a tool and stuff and just tossing her aside in the end. So the clear structure of the fights end up being W vs. Zeus, OOO vs. Muchiri, and Zero-One vs Aida. -More apparent Realizing Hopper with Tajador and Gold Cyclone Xtreme Rider kick at the end against both Zeus and Aida, and yeah that's what I've got and wanted to share. |

Lost Ankh definitely IS something done totally for fanservice; Would've been a neat idea to see what a totally complete Lost Ankh would've been like for sure. Quote:
--- Judgment Day is not here just yet, so you guys wanna add anything more to your ideas, feel free! |
Well since the other two suggested including more 01 elements, I guess I’ll have to bring back the long-necked Zeus idea I suggested in the LP proper and then figure out a way to integrate a character or two from the show proper. Kind of hard to include resurrected antagonists for a series where most of them survived the series.

Well all, after very careful consideration, it's been decided. The winner of the grand prize is...
Androzani84!!! Congrats my guy! If you want the prize, just message me on Discord. If not, then said prize will go to Sh Ranger. With that said, it is now time that I share with you all the final video I plan to record for this LP: Showing off some secret SD Card locations as well as what all of the Upgrades do! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUfSAtNtlcI The audio is out of sync in some parts, but screw it I don't feel like rendering the video for a fourth time. With that, this thread is for all intents and purposes complete, and I'll be removing the link to it from my signature soon. Thank you all for making this project such a fun experience! If you want more community stuff, check out Die's' recent Decade thread. I know I will! Until next time! |
