I wish Gotchard was a purple/violet rider this time since Hibiki.

Given the experience of the previous Reiwa riders, I will assume that Gotchard will be orange.

I associate the Undead from Blade with the card monsters rather than Ryuki's Mirror Monsters.

It's possible that Gotchard could be equivalent ?

It's been so long though, not to mention Geats came 5 years after the last Rider who'd stick 2 things in his belt, Build with W being about 13 years old. Blade has it's 20th next year

I think the main issue with cards these days is that they don't do anything by themselves. That's not the biggest issue, most of the Raise Buckles don't either, but it probably is something the Toei design team is considering. Then again, Ultra Seems to work fine with them, but Ultra also doesn't have as many roleplaying gimmick toys that they have to work between.

With cards being the rumored gimmick for next season, that got me wondering something. Cards seem to be playing an upcoming major role in Outsiders, with Sakuya trying to fuse the Rider Cards with the Rouse Cards. I wonder if there is gonna be some kind of connection?

I dont think so but if Gotchard becomes a show about cards I can see Toei tying it in later to fit the show somehow.

Watch this be an Ex-Aid/Build situation and the actual Rider Motif/gimmick has nothing to do with cards

Yes, but cards can attract non-fanatic collectors who otherwise would not buy anything or limit themselves to one toy. Still, not everyone has whole rooms for merchandise from their favorite show, and storing a deck of cards is much more convenient than all rider buckles or visestamps. And for selling toys, they can focus on weapons.

People are being too limited thinking that cards can only be little squares of cardstock.

If Gotchard uses cards in some way, it's not a stretch to imagine those cards might be based on credit cards or Pasmo/Suica cards. In that case, they could be little plastic slabs with an RFID chip and a speaker in it, like basically every other collectible widget from the last 15ish years.

Modeling the collectibles off of payment cards would pair well with the theorized Gatcha component. Like, maybe you have to use points/credits by scanning Suica-like cards to pay for your transformations. That's just an idea, but you see what I'm saying. There are a lot of ways "cards" can be interpreted.

Whatever the case, I don't think a card gimmick automatically means we'd be getting a rehash of the early-00s when trading cards were the main collectible for every franchise.

How about this? A police rider who arrests kaijins with cards. So a mixed bag of Blade, Dekaranger, Blade with the aesthetic of G3 from Agito. And for good measure give Gotchard an aardvark motif and says "Gotcha!" after rider kicking the kaijin and then arresting it with a card Blade style. :lolol
Side note I do think a bounty hunter rider would work with the 2nd rider being the cop as well. Kinda like Kaiketsu Zubat but Kamen Rider. And make it an aardvark. :lolol

Are there any animals that have not been touched on KR yet? Like an anteater? Sloth? Echidna? Capybara? Raccoon? Sugar Glider/Squirrel? Porcupine? Badger?

Scarab maybe? I mean we had it as a kaijin in Blade but not as a rider if that's what you're asking.

An Egyptian-style rider would certainly be an interesting and eye-catching addition to the existing ones. Plus, it would be a good reason to bring back the Ambassador of Hell in the movie/HB. Or take an example from Wizard and remember Mysterious Nile Girl Thutmose. On the other hand, all the coolness of a scarab disappears when you remember that it is a dung beetle. Although, again, there was no plumbing rider yet.

And bring back some of the archeology stuff from Kuuga? Sold. :rock:

Will with the name of Gotchard

The last part of his name sounds like Shard so I'm guessing whatever the gimmick of the show will be will be some kind of shard base item.

If the main weapon is called the Daisoumaru or something like that (i.e. referencing the arcade games where cards and other collectibles are used to play), then it's a safe bet that the collectibles are cards.

Um, but Geats uses ID-Cores and rider buckles, not bullets.

It really is kind of fruitless to try and deduce the methodology of a Rider from the name alone. Who would’ve even guessed like Revice used stamps? Or Geats using… whatever you’d classify his stuff as.

The next rider season better have one of the riders be based off of a vampire. Or at least a werewolf.

We've had zombies out of Genm & Buffa. We haven't seen a vampire-based rider since Kiva!

I vote yes! The monster motif is cool, plus it can be embodied in hundreds of different ways, so it won't look like a repeat.

At least with Geats we can kind of deduce his theme as a fox Rider. (Geats pronounced as Giitsu and Giitsu is elongated form of Gitsu and Gitsu is homophone of Kitsu, Kitsu ?> Kitsune; kitsune = fox)

Yeah, it has been a while since Kiva and I wouldn't mind a different approach with the motif. Other monster motifs I would like to possibly see since we're on the subject are mummies, werewolves, kappas, and cryptids. Actually I would love to see cryptid kaijins for a change with the ZECT-like organization being an SCP Foundation-ish group too.

I still really hard to imagine about Gotchard's main theme. I think his Forms in some rumours it really reminds me of Kamen Rider Double.

Geats Riders's themes mostly around animals and various objects. The animal themes mixed with objects in Geats series really similar to Build's Forms.

Don't forget Frankenstein's Monster. But yes, we could sure use more cryptid-based riders since Rey based off of a yeti.

For a female rider, imagine one based off of the Bride of Frankenstein or Bloody Mary.

We don't even have a rider based off of a mummy yet.

Plus there are a TON of yokai than just kappas. Geats based off a fox & kitsune. And Tycoon based off a tanuki.

I wonder if they'd reuse the Ryuki mirror sound effects for a Bloody Mary rider.

But last year no one thought about it. Even those who saw the silhouette thought it was a wolf with an axe.
