Well, Donbrothers did get a female Extra Ranger in the final arc. It sure has been a long time since having 2 on the core team though, but I don't mind the unique interactions that come from having a single girl either.

King-Ohger just had two women on the main team.

There's been multiple implications of characters being gay in Sentai and Rider before (often as a joke but not always), and IIRC the High School Heroes web series has a canonically transgender pink ranger. It doesn't need to be political unless "anti-woke" weirdos make it political :/

Not to mention Kamen Rider Zero-One also has an explicitly nonbinary character with Naki. And this doesn't even go into the history of other shows from Toei like Sailor Moon and Precure that have plenty of LGBT characters.

Inoue was my favorite writer from Gotchard, so I'm totally excited to have her handling this show!

It's Kan Sawada. He's most notable for being Doraemon's composer since 2005. He also composed Yowamushi Pedal and Godzilla: Singular Point.

Pretty good staff. Ryuta Tasaki is always a welcome sight in the director's chair. Happy to see Akiko Inoue get her chance to shine. This now makes her the fourth woman to head write a Sentai (following Kobayashi, Yokote, and Komura), and the third generation of the Inoue family to head write a tokusatsu.

As for the Number One Kaijins, I wonder if they'll be direct nods to the 49 senpai red rangers design-wise if what I'm understanding is correct, and I love the rivalry among rangers idea, definitely not a team dynamic that we're used to.
And from what I could make out, the suit fabric seems like it's primarily a mesh fabric except for the areas that have their respective colors.

Congrats to Akiko Inoue for headlining her first Tokusatsu show! It'll be interesting to see how she fares in the Head Writer seat compared to her dad. And will she eventually Head Write a Rider show?

Also each member gets their own solo Mecha or their own version of the Mecha? Do they combine at all?

Ok so I found it thru Reddit. Don’t know if allowed to post or not (in case anything happens, tell me if not allowed hehe) so basically:

The Gojugers will fight against enemies sent by the evil army, the “Number One Monsters” who are the best in all fields. The Gojugers will engage in various***”Number One Showdowns”***with the Number One Monsters and rescue people who have been mercilessly caught up in the conflict. At the same time, a battle over the “Sentai Rings” that were scattered throughout the visuals also breaks out! The five are driven to fight to “collect all the rings”, and*are also***rivals competing for the rings**.

In addition to the five, rivals with the powers of the previous Reds will appear one after another! “Sentai VS Sentai”! The enemies are the previous Reds and the Gojugers! There can only be one Number One.

This work has a distinctive feature that is decisively different from previous works. You will definitely not be able to take your eyes off the various battles that occur every week in a relationship where they are “both friends and rivals”.

So the monsters will be references to past Sentai Reds?

I don't know where people are getting this. It's stated that the Red powers will wielded by people. The monsters are monsters. It's essentially a 3-sides conflict.

So, I guess it might be like early episodes of Geed where random civilians get a hold of the powers of the past red rangers. The wording is a tad confusing in the Japanese text at first glance, but I suppose this is what they mean. That said, I suppose Akiko decided to take a page from her father's playbook and give us a variation of the Vyram, but as the titular rangers in a sense. The conflicts are gonna be a beautiful dumpster inferno in the best way possible. :lolol

There's something kind of fitting about an Inoue writing a Sentai where the team is basically at odds because they're rivals.
So will they be like extra/dark Rangers or...?

It depends on if the rings act like the Ranger Keys.

I think for now it's best to assume said third faction could be just random people who are not siding with either the Gozyugers or the Number One Kaijins. Maybe a typical episode will be the rangers competing with these people who somehow got the powers of past red rangers and the kaijins will get in their way, and so on.

where's the new toylist?

I'm very behind on everything, so I'll do another dumb bullet points thing I do at times.

-The Suits look like the Ryusoulgers (or at least the helmets), which is probably why I like them. Interesting choice for the animals and colors. Black Unicorn Woman? Rinne's back!

-I love these Mechs! These are easily becoming my favorite Sentai Mechs ever.

-Gozyuger? We already know it's 50, but I'm all for it, and the Number One, is probably a reference to Goranger and that the 50 also references "we've come all this way" so I like this name.

I'm excited for when this show drops. If there's one thing Sentai shows have been for me, it's fun. And that's good enough for me!

I said it before, but the choice of fabrics for the suit is interesting, seems like a mix of a mesh and enamel, the black parts are mesh while their respective colors are in enamel. So far, my favorite is Eagle and Unicorn.
In case you missed it, the Gozyu part also means, aside from what you've already pointed out, is a reference to the core five being five beasts as well.
