Dark Samus is far less Samus then Dark Pit is Pit. They look the same because Dark Samus was born form her old armor but that is where the similarities end. She's called "Dark Samus" but she's not Samus in any way.

And yeah... Ridley is fine for the game. If it has Charizard and Bowser and previously Ivysaur in it, it can have Ridley.

But... they are. That's the point.

One of the earliest things said about this (these?) games was that they didn't want a massive roster and were keeping it small. So instead they give us an abundance of clones and randoms.

You guy lost me at Kid Icarus: Uprising being a bad game ,that game was great and i glad to see a few of the characters make it in to smash

It was mediocre. I question anyone who thinks that a handheld game that has controls that are so badly thought out that it requires a stand on a flat-surface to play comfortably is a great game. The constant, constant, constant irritating dialogue sure as heck didn't help either.

The absolute truth is that if a company that wasn't Nintendo released a hand-held game that needed a stand to play, thus rendering the entire point of hand-helds useless, they'd be forgiven much less then KI:U was.

If you don't think Ridley's size is a problem, then what is wrong with Ridley? Why isn't he suited to being in the game?

Additionally, Dark Samus's name comes from her design. But in actuality, she's a Metroid, not Samus. She's as much Samus as SA-X is.

I didnt use a flat surface, i remember paying all over the place. the only problem i had was forcing my right hand to do what i want since im a lefty, and the dialogue was great, funny jokes, and very clever ways to Break the fourth wall

While the opinion on controls varies from person to person, I liked the Kid Icarus Uprising controls. And the game was good to. Different weapon types, took a lot of skill to master all the difficulties and the boss rush, lots of content and so on.

Do I think Dark Pit should be a seperate character in Smash? Hell no. but I wouldn't berate him for coming from a game half of the population didn't like for its controls.

Went to PAX today. Smash was basically the only game I played. I really like the pace of the game. It's speed feels like its right in between melee and brawl, although I would like it if there were a L-Cancel type mechanic. The character variety is insane. Every character feels viable on a competitive level.

Nintendo was giving out smash towel for playing the 3ds version. The 3ds version wasn't really my cup of tea. I didn't expect much to begin with but for what it was its a pretty fun game.

Both games were a ton a fun. I can't wait to turn those items off and get the stock battles going when the games come out.

With all the disappointment with the roster, here's some awesome spoilers that may have been overlooked by the 2nd Leaker that have now been pretty much verified by the recent Pic of the Days.

-The Leaker mentioned that each character has 8 color swaps (100% confirmed) and that alts are included in those swaps (100% confirmed)
-Leaker mentioned that Olimar and Bowser Jr. are special cases, Olimar has Alph has an alt and Bowser Jr. has all Seven Koopalings. Rather then just change their looks, these alts change their names as well.
-Olimar has 4 color swaps for Olimar and 4 color swaps for Alph
-To make this more likely, these are the two characters that don't physically fight themselves. Olimar/Alph uses his Pikmin and Bowser Jr/Koopalings never leave the Jr. Koopa Clown Car
-Larry's Trophy has been shown, which features him in the Jr. Koopa Clown Car that Bowser Jr. uses in the game. Notably Larry has never used the Jr. Koopa Clown in a game ever before, therefore this trophy is almost definitely representing Bowser Jr.'s alt
-Leaker's game had a Padlock in All-Star Mode which is now confirmed to mean that he hadn't unlocked all the characters yet.

Trying not to get too excited, but if Lemmy is playable then just OMG YES. That totally makes up for the shittiness that is Dark Pit in my eyes. Note that the 2nd Leaker made the leak at around the same time as the more famous 1st (implying they had the same source), but didn't have pics and videos to back up their claims. However, considering that the recent Pics of the Day have strengthened a lot of the info he leaked, its pretty likely that he's correct.

With the increased color options, I sure as hell hope the Pokemon finally get their shiny versions. There's no excuse not to at this point, since they don't have to be constrained by "red/blue/green/yellow" now.
