In fairness, Red could be asexual for all we know. Dude knows what he wants, and he wants to conquer the world.

When romance gets in your head, it's hard to tune it out, even if you have a mission. To quote Gai from Jetman, "We're people before we're soldiers". Heroes fight with their heads as well as their hearts and monarchs are no exception.

Hetero is the most common and popular type of romance outside of fanfiction, so I think it's okay for Henshinzero to focus on that if he wants. I enjoy hetero ships, but like you, I enjoy m/m slash ships as well. Hypothetically, Gira could end up with any of his teammates, even Rita, whatever their gender might be. Ultimately, it depends on the execution for whether people will enjoy it. And foreshadowing. Lots of foreshadowing. Takano Minato has experience in writing romance, so I hope he'll make it work if that's the direction he wants to take.

Sousuke/Miu, King/Yayoi, King/Amy (yes, King gets two girls fighting over him, in case it's not obvious he's the main character) and Tarou/Sonoi.

I think the subtext of such desires excludes the option of asexuality ;)

Ah, I'm aware of that of course. I'm just saying that in Sentai and Rider, M/F romance doesn't tend to be as much of a thing as HZ seems to be expecting, going off their pretty consistently posting about for at least since Saber. Trying to recommend to them that if they really are about the ROMANCE, then they should try and appreciate all kinds of romance, not just Main Hero ? Pretty Girl

Okay perhaps I was mistaken that the King-Ohgers don't come from another world, but from Earth entirely.

So then the sixth ranger oughta come from a decimated country that lost it's kingdom. Otherwise, the new ranger oughta be a young king or a peasant who's people were enslaved by.

For that, he should be one who has a hatred for all rulers - kings, queens, lords & politicians. And feels that all the people should be freed from rule, tyranny & fear.

And he's takes it out on the bug enemy & the rangers.

I can imagine him kinda stalking the rangers in their "civilian" lives, surveiling the Red Ranger on screen after their first encounter, only to watch him play with the children and think to himself "That's why he's called the King of Evil?!"

The new guy will probably start to have doubts about him, if he's truly the king the people needs or not.

Meanwhile, with the four rangers, he'll target them in order to tear down their kingdoms & free the people.

• Blue Ranger: Strip him of his tech.
• Yellow Ranger: Hates her vanity.
• Purple/Violet Ranger: Will already suspect Rita a woman.
• Black Ranger: Hates his deception & lies.

I don't think Sentai's the kind of series to have this level of political depth with the 6th fighting all the others to be honest
