Trying to torrent Gekiranger in preparation for LWW. It's not going well. Hikari Senshi doesn't have very many active seeds. :(

Go to SentaiTim's Youtube channel. He has almost every episode up in subbed form.

I know I'll get stones thrown at me for saying this but the HS torrents rarely have seeders. You should probably get the TVN ones since they more than likely will have the most seeders.

Yeah, I refuse to go with TV-Nihon when there's an alternative. I'll just have to go with krdl, which has really slowed down lately, too.

To each their own I suppose. There's also a Facebook page with quite a few of the series subbed. But it's TV Nihon so yeah, won't even link you to it lol.

They had to decrease their download speeds for non-members. They were getting hit with huge amounts of traffic by people who weren't supporting their site and just downloading stuff all the time. They barely raised enough money to keep going last month. So to compensate they had slow download times.

I don't begrudge anyone going after a TVN alternative either. I know on certain shows I'd go elsewhere as well.

The problem with Hikari Senshi's stuff (when its strictly their own work anyway) is you really do have to get it when its fresh. The torrents die out really quickly, and the way DDLs come and go single episode downloads could be there one minute and gone the next.

Yeah, I've always tried not to overuse it since I know it's just a site that one guy runs by himself. There have been some times when it's the only way to get stuff, though.

On the upside, looks like HS's Geki DDLs are currently working, so problem solved. :D

Now if only Hi No Tori had seeders for Gingaman :(

Yeah, Gekiranger took me a long while to download (2 weeks at most), but it was worth it not to see anymore of TVN's nonsense. Anyways, I've reopened my HS torrent to help seed for LLW. Hope it helps someone.

Honestly, I hate their attitude, but I'll choose Nihon over anyone else. OT is great for quick releases, but ultimately, their subs are bland.

Tell me about it. They are the last Sentai series I have to reget after my external was wiped out and there is no way I am even going to bother trying until next week.

Primarily because I tried to watch Ryuki via online uploads but episode 14-17 were missing, and the uploader never responded.
So I just go for torrents and downloads now. :p

Yeah it won. It had a pretty wide lead on everything else and it looks like everyone that will vote has.

Just hit Quest 10 of Gaoranger. Goa Gorilla has like the best BGM ever and Gao Muscle is an awesome combo. I like that they were was an actual drawback to Gaoking having all that power from Bear and Polar as well.

I wouldn't say a "wide" lead; it only beat Kamen Rider Black by three votes.

For a majority of the whole process it did. Black only caught up to it about a week ago. And that was also because I voted for Black :p

I voted for it, too. I hope getting second place here means it gets the slot after Gekiranger.

Speaking of which, I decided not to wait and watched the first episode of Gekiranger. Jan is on all the crack.

My torrent is moving at a snail's pace. 35% is a step up from the 19% earlier, but still...

And I do hope Black could be the next watch. I've always wanted to see it.

I doubt I'll end up following LWW. I'm already to episode 12. I waited for awhile, but they took to long to start. So I'm going by my own schedule again.

Episode two of Gekiranger. Aaaaaaallllllllllll the crack.

That said, I'm liking it so far. Kinda iffy on the HS subs, though. They have two options for subs: full subs with even the names translated and partial subs with some Japanese left in. I find myself kinda wishing their was more of a middle ground, though - something that translated words like "waza" and "kensei" but left "Gekiranger" and "Geki Tohja" as is.

I'm also not a fan of the cat dude costume. I think it's the creepy little hands. Give me Doggie Kruger's suit over this any day of the week.

This is a reason why I go with TVN subs on Gekiranger. Yes they leave far more untranslated but I still think it's better than the HS ones.

As far as what I'm watching, I've suddenly realized I've burned through 20 episodes of Goaranger just this week! This show is just so good. I can't believe I never hear people recommend it more often. The rangers are all interesting, the path to gaining power ups and new Power Animals is way less linear than I realized it'd be, the villlains are both fun and threatening. This show has so damn much going on it for it. This was the perfect series to celebrate the 25th Anniversary.

How does the video quality compare between Nihon and HS?

HS' seem ever slightly better to me (it might just be a matter of mkv vs avi), but both use old TV rips so don't expect a lot in way of video quality. They're watchable. Both redid the first episode with DVD rips.

Oh Toei. There's that Edo set for no apparent reason :lol Damn I love this show.

BTW, does the ghost ship movie of Gokaiger take place between episodes 24 & 25 or 28 & 29? My plan today is to watch Volumes 6 and 7 and the ghost ship movie, so I'm trying to decide which volume to watch it after.

The Ghost Ship movie is so forgettable I honestly don't remember when it took place.

Why, during Kamen Rider and Super Sentai double billed movies, Sentai gets a 30 minute forgettable movie?
Not even Gokaiger and it's attempts to shift the status quo escaped this...

It's not as weeaboo as TVN. There are no honoriffics or -tachis anywhere, not even an "itadakimasu." It's pretty much just the martial arts terms.

I really want a sub to just translate the "Hou hou dan" (And phrases similar to) and the "Rinshi _____" phrases.
I think I'll go the one that leaves some words untranslated, just for simplicity's sake.

I tried to watch a little more Gokaiger, this time the episode where Akashi is trying to get the Yomi Heart or whatever it is. If anything, that made me want to watch Boukenger instead of more Gokaiger.

Honestly, I think the only series that had a really good summer movie was AbaRanger.
