Yup both are great even if for me All New lost its flavor after the Battle of the Atom storyline.

After that the book just wanders off. They have a Team Up with the Guardians which were mostly just their to confront the young Cyclops with his dad and then they did some other random stuff, traveled to the Ultimate Universe and are having another Guardians crossover the next months.

Uncanny is my preferred book too.

Honestly, I like All-New X-Men better than Uncanny X-Men. Then again, that might just be because I don't really like Chris Bachalo's art.

Well, I read All-New X-Men first and read Uncanny X-Men for completion's sake.

And because my library had trades for both series.

I love Bachalos art. It always worked for me.

I preferred All New when it started but Uncanny became the much better book over the last year.

And the new Guardians crossover is probably just there to get Cyclops back to earth after he ran away with his space dad :lol

The first two or three arcs before Battle of the Atom are really really good.

Yeah, it's a good book, but Uncanny simply happens to beat it.

Not really. After the Tachion Dam of the Apocalypse Twins got destroyed the only thing really keeping them in the present was that Cyclops is still hanging out with his Space Dad.

Uncanny 28 and 29 absolutely blew my mind.

In that aspect it is pretty impressive.

You really should get back to it. The Last Will and Testament of Charles Xavier storyline is really good and like I said the last two issues are mindblowing.

Uncanny 28 is pretty much Scott having one giant monologue about why he does what he does now.

why does there NEED to be an all female group? I doubt anyone would be excited with announcements of an all male group, so it just puzzles me.

Because its something Comics need.

The industry was ruled by mid-30, early-40 white men for decades. So getting more diverse books and creative teams get the industry some fresh air.

Because it means that they are finally recognizing the woman dynamic and giving them a long over due spotlight as a whole. Or that's how I take it.

I mean, I'm all for adding in some more strong female characters, as well as diverse writers, but I kinda find a "girls only" team a little silly.

We have tons of male only teams and male only books with female characters only being pushed to the side. There need to be more books that have the female characters front and center.

Well, it's not like it's needed per se, but doesn't mean we won't enjoy it, it's really common for books or story arcs to focus on pretty much nothing but male heroes, so it's a nice change of pace.

Especially books where the female characters arent just eye candy for the male readers.

Yeppity, that's why characters like Spider-Gwen get so much nice press.

Her whole character is "I wanna fuck Peter" and nothing more. In the latest issue of Spider-Verse I loved seeing her get shit from Jessica for breaking their Transporter...twice! :lol

I'm still a bit WTF'd by the other Jessica the inheritors keep around.

According to people who read that series, Silk is a MUCH better character when she's written by Dennis Hopeless in Spider-Woman.

But an all-female group is pretty notable. We have a ton of all-male/mostly male superhero teams, but female characters have always gotten the shaft in comics up until recent years. More often than not, books with female leads are likelier to get canceled than books with male leads, mostly because those female-led books don't sell well. This isn't a fault of the writing. Just the exposure they get beforehand.

So, yes. A-Force is getting a lot of publicity. It's going to need it.

Since she didnt do very much in the main book I hadnt much exposure to that part of the story.

Well, she isn't around Pete, so at least they get more scenes than just trying to get on each other's pants.
