HOTD 3. This episode blows the scale up quite a bit, quite a bit more than a lot of zombie stuff, even if it's still told in a small sort of way. I especially loved how of all places, London (not England), was the one to contain the most amount of order.
It's a shame that pretty much everything else is as generic as they come, or fanservice that really isn't all that appealing anyway, unless breasts more akin to grossly out of proportion beanbags full of water are your thing. Even the action scenes, which were once thrilling, are now bogged down by what appears to be a severely smaller budget than they had for the first two episodes. I also hope Takagi dies soon. Her kind of stock character is the cancer of anime, bogging down every otherwise good series. |
Clannad Episode 1. Not too sure why, but this one didn't hook me as Air and Kanon's first episodes did. I will say this though, it reassured me that the order I chose to watch the trio in was the correct one. Though the three are different in setting, characters and plot, there seems to be a feeling of progression if you watch them in the order of Air, Kanon and then Clannad.
Air feels like the beginning of a story that's bigger then it has time to tell (which based on it's run time is rather true) and when it is over you're left wanting more. Kanon is in many ways the return to something familiar, like when you find an amazing spot in a park on a hot summer day and don't come back to it until it's the middle of winter and although the spot is the same it has a all around different feel. Finally, Clannad is much like spring, where the snow finally melts and you walk into a world that has been renewed and full of life. However though you are happy to be back in that world, this time it feels like it might be your very last time to experience it so you decide to make it last for as long as you can. Rather interesting don't you think? |

Edit: FYI Madoka is in my top three favorite anime of all time along side Eureka Seven and Fullmetal Alchemist (03 version) |
There is the bus lesbian scene. Because thats what high schools do when threatened by Zombies, make out with a sloppy tongue kiss. Then there's the massage scene, which seems to be in every anime, where it sounded like they were gangbanging the girl.

Both Eureka and the two versions of FMA are amongst my 'anime classics that I've half finished and started again about thirty thousand times but never finished' list. Aka: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4...h5b6o1_500.gif

2nd watching of Seirei no Moribito. I just realized that there were no real "villains" in this show. Everyone was just a victim of strange fate and happenstance.
Going to see if I can source the 2nd OVA of 3X3 Eyes...damn shame they didn't continue that series though. |
Just a quick update on the things I watch weekly as they all enter their final stretch.
C3-Bu: I was loving this show, but I'm beginning to get burned out on it. Yura has become the most insufferable protagonist I've seen in a LONG time. It's a shame the show focuses so much on her, because I quite like all the other members. Symphogear G: Holy hell this show has gotten CRAZY good in the last few episodes. Brilliant twists and turns and great action. All my problems with the first season have pretty much dissipated and I can't wait for the last few episodes. Gatchaman Crowds: I've gone from disliking this show to being a bit mixed about it. The drama has certainly gotten better and the subject matter more interesting, but does anyone remember when the MESS were a thing? That setup was dropped so hard I'm not really sure what the point of it was in the first place... |

Personally I'm glad they dropped it, Katse and the Crowds are definitely more interesting. |

I dunno, I just don't think "there haven't been any more incidents since" is good enough closure on the matter :lol |
So Crowds doesn't get any better then? I watched the first couple of episodes, and between all the clunky CGI animation and violent shifts in tone, I just found myself wishing this was live action so I could appreciate it more.

Speaking of Rui, I'm glad Sugane had pretty much the same reaction to his gender as I did :lol Quote:
Hajime, Rui and Sugane are really the only ones mattering. OD maybe but exactly what his deal is hasn't been revealed yet. The way they're building it up its bound to be huge though. (Atleast I HOPE) |
I'm watching Digimon Fusion, god damn, is this opening theme annoying!

Personally on the topic of Crowds, I've been really enjoying it, and it's one of my favorites this season, also one of the few show I don't let the episodes sit for a while before watching them. I think it's been great, especially the last few episodes.
But then again I really like the entire G-Team, except maybe Joe. Katse and Rui are great characters too. But I guess at the same time, I thought Hajime was a great character from the start, where as most people's immediate reaction to her seemed to either be annoyance or outright hatred. |
If you have seen my video clips postings in Sentai or KR, this will be the same. I uploaded the video footage I used for my "Voltron vs Golion" panel last year at NDK in case any of you are interested in seeing the fun we had with it.

I've actually given up on the Clannad VN and moved onto the anime this weekend. I'm on episode 7, and I'm finally over the enormous eyes.
|
So I just finished Clannad. Not as depressing as people made it out to be. I rather enjoyed it. it was funny, touching and I nearly cried at the end not because it was sad but because of how moving it was... Oh, and what's this? There's two more episodes on the disc? AWESOME! :D
|
As i keep going through the part of Yugioh with Noah, i keep yelling internally "Pick Exodia you morons!" Whenever they have to pick there cards.
