I guess I'll see what's still in stock by the time I order. |
There's a plastic shortage in Japan that's affecting kit availability. Even if it's a new kit if it sells out don't expect to see it restocked any time soon.

Tajador already being exclusive likely means it's not affected, anyway. P. Bandai kits aren't produced in the same numbers/reprinted like normal kits, anyway. |
We sure are living in a dark time ever since the Covid....

Ah, ok. I won't get my hopes up for an early drop then.
|
Well that's Agito, Fourze and Zi-O ordered from Amiami. Settled on these guys as a fully Rider kit package sounds like something fun, and Zi-O (who's series I've watched) went in stock while I was thinking about my choices. can't wait to increase my FRS collection to 9 Riders!
|
Still waiting on my OOOs pre-order. I can't believe we're already at 13/14 main riders.
I'm super excited to complete the full 20 Heisei lineup! |
Super anxious to get my OOOs pre order to come in. I can't wait to build it.

Watching a review/comparison of FRS Faiz Axel and I never realised Axel's eyes had a different pattern to base Faiz

As if I needed any more convincing that FRS was awesome. They've been getting into some pretty impressive stuff this past year and the results speak for themselves; the Trychaser and Dragreder make for AMAZING display pieces next to their respective Riders! And... good thing too, because the Trychaser was stressful as heck to build and Dragreder just a little bit tedious! Bit of a warning for the Trychaser in particular; bring a ruler, because they provide you with one wire and want you to cut it into two particular lengths. Thankfully it doesn't impact the results too much if you get it a little off and it is a small part of it, but it did surprise me given how accessible every other kit has been so far. But you really can't argue with results! The Trychaser is downright gorgeous and got better with every attached piece; and Dragreder is absurd in just its sheer length and size. It's nuts that both of these are retail, and so cheap to boot! ... oh, and Ryuki himself is pretty good too! I might even be pressed to say my favourite build yet of the Riders I have? Refreshingly simple and literally no stickers outside the head, Dragvisor and belt -- and said belt might just be my favourite looking in FRS so far. The head also surprised me by using the eye piece to also provide the forehead gem rather than using a sticker! His lack of double-jointed elbows is disappointing, but he's able to do anything I would want to ask of him. These two kits have made this a pretty enjoyable weekend! |
I loved the Ryuki build as well. It's got such good parts separation and if you're up for it, painting the stickers parts is not so bad. I only wish they figured out a way to make the eyes glow better. They look so dark out of the box. I would have even accepted a straight up red eye pieces (rather than transparent).
And even though I don't use it, Dragreder is an amazing kit. The joints have just the right amount of tension to do all sorts of poses. It also works well with SODO and Figuarts |
Daaanng Trychaser looks nice!

Dumb question but…is this Trychaser compatible with the Figuarts Kuuga?

Attachment 61573 The bike is too big, but not so much as to be jarring. |
Knowing the price of the figuarts one, this one might be the better option.
And from I see it?s not too jarring |
It helps that it's too big rather than too small. I feel like if a bike is slightly oversized it's not that big a deal, but if it's too small it looks silly like it's a grown man on a kid's bike. :lol
My Tri-chaser should be coming tomorrow. Can't wait for Kuuga to saddle-up. |

Matsukichi uploaded an unboxing video of FRS Kuuga Dragon/ RIsing Dragon, and i spotted some interesting things here. - 'The kit is retooled from the Kuuga Amazing Mighty/Rising Mighty kit, so you get some parts of em (gold mighty parts, two belts for rising version, etc). - The staff is a blue part with gold stickers, oof, i wonder how it will looks. - And the most interesting part.... YOU GET A BLUE RIDER KICK EFFECT PART LMAOOOOO, this means we can get a green and purple rider kick part too. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...00/unknown.png https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...00/unknown.png |
Amiami order arrived today! Just built Agito and I'll build Fourze and Zi-O over the weekend.

So, are these figures good? The recent announcements of Ghost and Black make me wonder if this is a more economical alternative to Figuarts...
|
As Action Figures? Hell no. Far too delicate for that, but plastic representations of the Kamen Riders to put up on your shelf, change a few poses around every once in a while? Perfect.
|
I mean, as long as you're not throwing them around the place, yeah! I'm as delicate with them as I am Figuarts and they're fantastic, I've basically just abandoned Figuarts for any main Rider aside from my three favs. It's absolutely a very good alternative to Figuarts if you don't want to throw 60-70 dollars at a toy every month
|
As stated these kits aren't really toys. They're posable and won't fall apart, but you can't handle them like a Figuart.
As replacements/substitutes for a display, though? That's debatable since they need wok to reach the levels of Figuarts paint work, a natural tradeoff give the price. I have nearly every one so far and they have supplanted my SHFs as the "top shelf" centerpiece. :D They're just more affordable, consistent, and I greatly enjoying building and painting them. |
Side by side, there's no contest. A Seihou Figuarts is a stunning recreation of the show suits. For the most part they pose better, last longer, and maintain value better. The stickers on the model kits will eventually wear out or fade. And unless you're a prolific painter and you have the stuff and skill already available, buying paints for an FRS to meet Figuarts quality will have you already approaching the cost of a Figuart anyway.
Also worth noting that some Figure-Rise standard kits are more durable than others, but they are definitely not meant to be handled too much. |
I think you guys are really making them out to be way more fragile than they are? Don't give them to a 6 year old but as long as you're being sensible they're absolutely fine to handle a bunch. Mine have constantly been fine, there really isn't anything to worry about

When I was in Japan, I bought a Kamen Rider Snipe LVUR figure and I really liked it. It wasn't as detailed as the figuart, but it got the job done and is a lot more affordable. Unfortunately, nothing like that seems to be coming out for older Riders (like Black or Den-O, two that I'd love a figure of) so when I saw these, I was hoping it could be a more affordable alternative. But for some reason, buying a model kit of a Kamen Rider doesn't sit right with me? And honestly, the images Bandai Hobby US are posting on Instagram look...kinda cheap. So that's why I'm asking :lol
|
It's 3D model render, it's not gonna look nowhere near the actual thing. But I will advise painting to get rid of the cheap look. I did it for my Kuuga's red and it fixed my problem with it, being the hollow red plastic.

Are they going to do all the bikes in the FRS line?
