I should have bought Orga. |

Yeah Orga turned out well. Totally random bit about Orga that I wasn't expecting - it's paperwork came in a plastic baggy, despite not including any extra bits in the baggy.

I wanted to get Orga (and Chaser too) but the budget didn't allow for it unfortunately. I need to pick one up ASAP.

I have yet to find out who this Orga is, but he does look pretty sweet looking.

Goddamn it!!!

Oh you're kidding me.
Web exclusive Necrom? Screw you, Bandai. What the hell are you even doing. I love Boost and that he's not an exclusive, but between these two, if one of them had to be an exclusive (and I don't think either did, you've only got 4 mass releases so far, what gives) it's obvious it shouldn't have been Necrom. What the hell. And oh, hey. Darkraider. Cool, cool. Wasn't expecting it to come out so soon, but hey, cool. Probably won't get it on release (didn't even manage to preorder dragranzer...) but more contract monsters are always welcome. Maybe someday I will get to own it. |
Wow that's fucking crazy Necrom comes out in Nov web shop exclusive what the hell is going on here. He should be retail I shock the last two main riders are retail and he not.
I have to wonder what ghost Figuarts will we get in between sept and oct for web shop bandai is really messing with us. |
Guys, it's not like web exclusives are difficult to get ahold of these days, thanks to sites like Mandarake and even AmiAmi gets web exclusives in from time to time.
Yeah, I get that they'll be harder to find after the fact but most of them tend to fall back to around retail price once the demand is gone... |

It's also about the principle of the thing, though. It makes no sense for major characters, major forms introduced as early as episode 16, to get the web exclusive treatment. Especially not if an early season upgrade is getting a regular release. It just makes no sense. |

Wut? Why is Necrom a Web-Exclusive? The guy is a main character and a secondary Rider, also not a really villain as we are seeing right now. Kinda surprising since even Drive had the main Rider, Mashin Chaser and Mach out in retail, plus one alternate form of Drive and Deadheat. But they didn’t ever release Type Tridoron and Formula was a Web-Exclusive so… I don’t know.
But hey, that Garo figure they showed two years ago! Not that I care about Garo, but it’s nice that the figure gets released. Knight Survive with Cyclebat is cool, too expensive for me though, and I like regular Knight better anyways. So pretty much a month without a purchase for me so far, boring. Still no Gatack. |
Maybe they want to leave spots in the Ghost line-up open for Grateful, Mugen, or maybe even Deep Specter as retail releases? That's the only answer I can come up with.
|
I hope for how few Ghost figuarts we're seeing (kinda doubting the possibility of more retail figuarts after Boost at this point to be honest, if even Necrom couldn't make it I don't see much hope for the rest. Plus last year the last Drive release was in August, and Boost is August...) they make up for it with some Super Hero Year Figuarts. We saw Sangou last year, so it may not be too much to hope for the new Ichigou...probably.
And of course, I'd love to see the Amazons get Figuarts this year. At retail seems unlikely, but I'm kinda hoping for it anyway. Though they may end up being Amazon exclusives or something weird like that. Don't know whether that would make them any more or less easy to get, though. But in whatever case, crossing my fingers. |
I would say the final forms are retail releases but then again, with Drive we only got Deadheat at retail in terms of Super forms, nothing else. I kinda doubt that they bother releasing Deep Specter at retail.
And honestly I don’t care anymore at this point, Necrom is the only design I like out of a show that keeps disappointing me, so why should I bother with how they handle their releases. Quote:

It isn't just the fact Necrom is an exclusive that bugs me. It's that he's an exclusive coming out one month after the show will have finished. It's Chaser all over again, only he actually had the excuse of appearing toward the end of Drive.
|
I hadn’t even seen the release date… November? That’s 8 months from now, holy shit.
At this point it really does seem like that they have something planned and shove Ghost to the side. Or Ghost is doing really terrible with adult collectors but it’s a bit too early to have good data on that. |
Say, doesn't Bandai as a whole sort of plan the next Rider's toy releases based on how the previous series does? Drive didn't sell particularly well from what I hear, though I don't know if that applies to the Figuarts as well or just the regular toyline. Though I did get the impression that Type Deadheat and maybe Wild shelfwarmed pretty hard.
We're seeing only 4 retail Figuarts in the time window in which the (underperforming?) Drive had 7, doesn't seem like it would be a coincidence. |
In the meantime, I'm thrilled that Darkraider is getting a preorder. I've been waiting for it to go up since Dragranzer went up.
(Though I wonder if it'll be the last new Ryuki thing we ever get, since I'm not expecting the remaining Contract Monsters anytime.) |

Most likely the one that was on display two years ago:

Ah excellent, I am going to need that.

Don't really see why Necrom being a November exclusive is a grave injustice or anything...
Chaser was the same way and even then sites like Mandarake got a good amount in not long after his release. Plus I don't see why him getting released after Ghost's finale should even be an issue. Lord Baron is being released over a year after Gaim's finale. Hell, Chaser was out like 3, almost 4 months after Drive. And if the excuse is "Both Gaim and Drive had V-cinemas", Ghost already has one confirmed. It can have more even afterwards if they want. |

Also, "Mandarake got a good amount in" is hardly a confirmation of wide availability. Quote:
Necrom being exclusive isn't a "grave injustice", it's just baffling that the show's third Rider who appeared maybe less than halfway into the series is a web exclusive coming out after the show is done when the character hasn't had any prior representation in the line and Ghost in general has had a surprisingly low amount of mass release figures. |

Mashine Chaser on the other hand was released a month later than Drive Type Speed, the same happens now with Ghost & Specter. The second Rider, Mach who appeared around the time Necrom was first introduced was a retail release in June. That's the comparison you should make. Quote:

How did the Ghost figuarts did with pre-orders so far? Maybe if they did better in pre-orders then maybe Necrom will be a retail release. I personally don't like that he is a web exclusive too, but I guess Tamashii didn't think he will sell well at retail.
|
For Rider standards they both did pretty miserably. Preorders were open for weeks, possibly months.
|
Meh, unfortunately not surprised about Necrom being Web exclusive. Bandai's been pretty weird about their release strategies with figuarts lately. Kivala, a movie-exclusive rider with only one appearance got a retail release so nothing phases me anymore lol.
Speaking of Web exclusives, I managed to find an SHF Orga at Jungle. Should be arriving this week. Can't wait to get him in hand. I just need to find Chaser. |
I forget, did we already know about Dark Raider in Aug?
http://www.taghobby.com/wp-content/u...03/fo21803.jpg Cuz I NEEEEDS it! The Ryuki line is still probably my all-time favorite Figuarts sub-line, yes even over Gaim, Marvel, and Star Wars. http://www.taghobby.com/1-0/1-1/%E4%...6%88%E6%81%AF/ |
