You're also completely wrong there. Phasma was cut from nothing. There's nothing made up, do a little research before you act like you know whats up. 2199 is in Before the Awakening and was already speculated to be "TR-8R". Lucasfilm confirmed the HEAVY speculation that existed already. The expansion of that character was always going to be there. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean he isn't a real character. Sure there's a meme, but I genuinely love that scene.

I preordered him a few days ago once I could scrabble the funds together (especially since if my timing is right his preorder window will be closing very soon). Even before the memes and official backstory started hitting it was one of my favourite parts of the film. After hearing such high praise for the retail version its safe to say I can't wait to get him in May.

Same here. The standard FO Trooper is perfection. I'd buy basically any re-release of it, like the Heavy Gunner prototype we saw at Tamashii Nations. But the Riot/Nines trooper was a must after seeing the movie. It's good to see a star wars where troopers are competent for once.

I'm usually overly critical of most toys I buy, but I really do think the FO stormtrooper is one of the few near perfect figures I've bought recently. No one else has an waist joint with this much range and I totally regret not ordering 3.

I’m still incredible salty about the lack Phasma and it seemed logical to my rage self that they did cut her out so they can show her off in the other movies. If that figure is a character for you or you liked the scene enough, more power to you, be happy with that figure. But I don’t really care.

And I didn’t knew he appeared in the books or anywhere else, I didn’t read any of that.

Anyways, back on topic: I hope they add more caracters from TFA to their lineup, a Rey figure would be really awesome.

Oh it's definitely one of the best figuarts to date. What they did with the hip joints and the angled utility belt is just genius. That mold is perfection. Give me a Shadow repaint bandai!

It's cool, no harm done. FN-2199 had his backstory fleshed out in the Before the Awakening Novel, a collection of tales that predate episode 7, but grow it's world a bit. He's one of Finn's squad mates along with Slips & Zero. Slips is the trooper who smears blood on Finn's helmet at the films start. Nines feels betrayed that Finn, who for all intents & purposes was their team leader, turned his back on all of them.

Finn possibly recognizing Nines may be why he couldn't quite take him down in the film. But it still begs the question why he didn't react more to Nines' death after that. But yeah the novel helps explore their dynamic and set up that eventual confrontation at Maz's castle.

I think I really need to check that novel out, maybe before I watch the movie again on home media so I can see the little things hinted in the movie but explained in the book even better.
