So to those who loved the villains in ToQger, did you like the characters or something else like art direction? And in comparison to later shows do they still hold top place in your personal list of best villains in Super Sentai?
All this Ryusoulger talk got me curious cause I remember people loving them.

Toqger is in my top 3 sentais for a lot of reasons, but yes; something I instantly gravitated towards was the villain designs. It was astonishing how beautiful they looked and they chose the perfect theme to go against the whole super-duper-rainbow-friendship-imagination thing the Toqgers had going for them.

Beyond just the aesthetics though it was fascinating seeing their interpersonal politics at play and how willing some of them were to backstab each other and how they all had different priorities. I remember when Morque came in she instantly became a favourite of mine in how she instantly took control and established "all right, fun and games is over; I'm in charge now, assholes". What a complete badass.

I just hope we don't end up a fruit themed season, would be too weird for a sentai.

No, but we will have a vegetable Sentai. Eat your vegetables kids!

We got a fruit themed Kamen Rider, so if the concept worked for Gaim, why wouldn't it work for Sentai?

Watch the 2020 Sentai be Sports themed, I'm totally calling it.

Does anyone know how Ryusoulger is doing vis-a-vis ratings and toy sales? I've been kind of curious because of all the cancellation rumors from the start of the year, but I haven't really kept up with how the show is performing.

People have been talking about Super Sentai and Kamen Rider being cancled for ages. It almost happened with Liveman, and we are still here today with new shows every year since 1979. Even if Super Sentai does end, I doubt it will be end forever.
