Certainly, but telling people to "kiss your ass" just because they don't have the same viewpoint as you might not make you many friends on a discussion board. Just an fyi.

Aaand this is why I sometimes hate discussing about Sailor Moon. Why is everyone being so aggressive about it? Yes, I said "screw the old anime" myself, but on my own, personal twitter. In a forum, we should all try to discuss peacefully and respect each other more. It can get harsh, but don't freak out about stuff immediately. If someone insulted you, just tell him in a friendly way. Please?

I prefer Crystal both story- and art-wise myself and I could care less about the old anime. But everyone should like whatever they want, just PLEASE don't be so rude to each other.

Which is weird because I like fire-bender more on principle, yet Mars is always secondary in my mind when I watch the show.

Depending on where a person lives, you be amazed on how your town's favorite show is another town's "Huh? the fuck is Beyblade? We only watch Rave Master round these her parts".

Having moved a lot, I've learned to stop expecting people to have watched what I have. That way, if they have, it's a pleasant surprise.

I also like people with the power of fire, but Mars is way lower on my list than Moon, Pluto, Tux and Venus. Which doesn't mean I don't think she's awesome.

Yeah I dislike the manga and prefer the anime but I don't like how Tux was downgraded in the anime still think having a more likable Usagi,better villains and more developed Scouts is a fair trade though.

But if people prefer Crystal no skin off my back I'll just keep watching the original anime.

I like sailor moon crystal but old anime wil have soft spot and I ant talking bout English dub I grew and learned of sailor moon thanks to German dub due to it was RTL 2 when I was younger and I lived in uk through out my life my late name lived with us and we had German sat dish to watch German tv I learned of sailor moon dragon ball and one piece thanks to that I will all way have a piece of my hear there for it. I just prefer crystal more now.

I think that's the major advantage I have as someone who started with the toku, because the characters were more like in the manga, but all very well-developed. I then watched the musicals, which are a mixture of everything and then dealt with Crystal/ the manga. The lack of character development is thus no problem for me because I already have the senshi as very round characters in my head.
But I think it is easier for me to like Crystal because I never really got into the old anime anyway. I watched bits of it, but I never liked it and preferred how the story and characters were presented in the manga and the toku. The musicals are somewhere between that, they have some very anime-esque moments, but also some aspects of the manga.

I think your expectations were too high then.

I've never seen a first episode where the animation was better than the last episode, even in anime.

Poor animation is the least of Crystal's flaws.

I prefer the artwork of Crystal because I prefer the manga's artwork, but Crystal is a mixed bag because the manga was a mixed bad. The Black Moon Family story is absolute horse crap in the manga, so it is just as bad in Crystal. The four sisters had absolute no development and the first three chapters pointlessly gave a new soldier an upgrade just to have them captured at the end, which was bs. It served no purpose and was more annoying than tragic. I really feel like Naoko had no idea what she wanted to do here and was just scrapping from the bottom of the barrel here just to make it different from the Dark Moon Kingdom arc.

Thankfully, things will get better afterwards, especially when they get to the Dead Moon Circus. However, get read for really creepy gross scenes with Chibi-Usa after this arc is over.

The only thing I do truly like better in the manga/Crystal from the original anime is that Rei is not a bitch.
