Was it ever explained why the Samurai toys looked nothing like they did on the show? It was like they decided to make toys like the armor from the MMPR movie, but were looking at the Shinkenger costumes.

What do you mean? All of the figures there were in the show and those modes were all used, except the metallics. Regular, Mega, Super and Super Mega were all used.

No no, those really odd look armored versions. If you go down the triangle, they are towards the back on the left side.

Those are the Mega mode Rangers, the ones that are in the PR Samurai zord cockpit scenes. They're Power Ranger only forms, created pretty much just to sell more toys.

Ohh, I haven't watched Samurai yet. I'm probably going to do so after I finish Shinkenger next week just out of curiosity more than anything else.

Although from this angle you can barely tell (>.<) I've got Tommy's flute playing pose down, I didn't realise you have to clip the handle in place on the left hand which is where all the security is, then just balance the right hand on the handle and you can achieve the pose just fine, I was trying to do it all with the right hand.

So yeah, I got my only other villain involved and did this.

Nope, Shinkenger is the one series that comes to mind first above the Power Rangers version. Juuzo is one of my all time favourite villains in general, it's just a shame that once initial excitement and my palette grew, I found Shinkenger such a boring show.

Because the Uramasa is a reversed blade, so when Juuzo is intent on feeding it his opponent's blood, the sword has to be reversed. I'm currently rewatching Shinkenger, so I have a fully fresh memory of everything and I am actually enjoying the show A LOT more now than I did when it first aired. I still think the show takes a massive stall in plot the moment Akumaro appears, but now at 39 it really starts to pick up again.

BTW, what does loke or dekker mean?

Unfortunately Deker is the name given to Juuzo in Samurai. No clue what loke means.

Deker is what they call Juuzo? They couldn't come up with anything more original? Something that sounds like a villain's name? Then again, knowing PR, they probably made him be some preppy college student with a rich mommy and daddy who is doing what he can to rebel against them.

Don't you know? Samurai was the series infamous for straight up plagiarizing Shinkenger, villains included.

No, I know nothing of Samurai other than Nick started airing the show with the third episode. I haven't watched it yet as I'm waiting until I finish rewatching Shinkenger to do so.

Shinkenger, as boring and hard to watch as it was, is a shining masterpiece compared to Samurai.

While I am enjoying Shinkenger a lot this time around, it is nice to know the show is not widely praised around by everyone. I swear, everyone at Henshin Justice acts like it is the greatest thing ever to happen to Sentai.

Shinkenger was the first Sentai I ever watched and is what introduced me to the world of Sentai. When I was watching it, I thought it was fantastic! Although that may be because in my mind I compared it to the bits and pieces of Power Rangers that I've seen on TV here and there I felt it was SOOO much better. It felt more like an actual drama (not sure if anyone is familiar with "asian dramas", but thats the type of show I am referring to) then anything that Power Rangers had ever been. Haha. I really enjoyed it.

Hah, I was planning to do this too but I was gonna wait till the whole team was released first, which may not be for another year or so. I have yet to open up SRC Daizyujin and SH Figuarts Dragon and Tyranno ranger. Haha.

I thoroughly enjoyed Shinkenger, I don't really see why people get bored in the middle portion. The plot wasn't steam rolling, but it took time to develop the characters, which sometimes I think is more important sometimes.

Also I think a lot of people get confused by Juuzo holding his sword the way he should when people display Figuarts is because iirc while Deker also held his sword that way due to footage, it was never actually pointed out that he was doing it or why he was doing it.

My problem was, that the Shinkenger's already had identifiable personalities, personalities that had been played with in fun and meaningful ways and a team that had a very interesting and engaging balance. Then they just lobbed Genta into the middle, who didn't fit with the team at all, for some story reasons most not, and just threw off everything the show had fine tuned up to that point. None of the proceeding character focus would have been needed (and those episodes wouldn't have been such a waste) if they had just woven in a better sixth who was an actual character.

The problem is, episodes 28-38 are just boring because nothing is happening at all other than the mech fest continues to grow. Akumaro is so damn boring and nothing happens with Doukoku for those chunk of episodes. The entire thing just stalls for time during that point. Doukoku has no development. Aakumaro has no development. THe rangers have been pretty much developed by this point. Genta throws the entire team off with episodes like the curry one. Honestly, the episode with Mako's dad is like the only thing development wise that happens in that chunk if you take out the pointless mecha. However, this is a discussion for the Sentai Watching thread, but to keep it on on track, has BBTS said when they are going to get the SDCC stuff yet? I want my Shinkenger set now!!
