I saw episodes 14 and 15 of Wizard. I liked the formula switch up with the film director supposedly being the gate but being the phantom and someone else being the gate. Water Dragon style was badass, granted forced since Lizardman didn't seem like that much of a challenge in the first place but still cool.

Wizard's writing is seeming to get smarter as it shows the responsibility of Haruto having to tell the truth but not let the gates go into despair thus making him look like a bad guy. It puts more moral weight on the Phantom dilemma and it maximizes the scope and importance of Haruto's job even more.

However, there was some bulls**t ending in this two parter that I couldn't understand. Haruto lied to the gate about the film director being alive in America. I know he's afraid of letting her go into despair but just have him put an engage ring on her and beat the phantom with WizarDragon. It's better then having a gate running around with no protection. I don't know if this is worse then when Kamen Rider W lied to the little kid about being his dead father. I think this might be worse because the Gate is a FULL GROWN ADULT THAT CAN HANDLE SOMEONE'S DEATH.

EDIT: After seeing the Christmas episode, I loved the action between Phoenix and Wizard. it was badass. The gate's backstory was good for all the time one episode could give. It also established the plot point that Phoenix gets stronger and becomes immune to Wizard's tactics as he gets revived. Water Dragon got some more action. The best part of the episode was when Haruto went into Water Dragon and used a 3 ring spam on Phoenix to finish him. Bilzzard, Water Dragon Slash Strike and Special all in a row were badass moves.

Santa's appearance felt forced and confused me. His ring that he gave Haruto didn't bother me but the fact that Santa can get into people's underworlds does. The episode felt Christmasy enough without the forced Santa but this was put into a really good episode that didn't need it. The only thing that would have made this episode more unnecessarily Chirstmasy was taking a page out of Power Ranger's Samurai's book and making horrible Christmas puns while fighting the bad guys.

A few caveats.
First is that the thing keeping the Gate from going into despair was Lizardman's former Gate. After everything that went down, telling her that he died would've pretty much had Haruto doing the Phantom's work for them. The drive to see him again was what was keeping her going during his 6(?) month disappearance.
There's a time and place for everything. And telling her that he was dead (The ONE thing that would pretty much break her spirit entirely) would probably be the dumbest thing they could do.

Blade 27. Dat Jack. I'd be more pumped for power-ups if the designs in this show weren't so bland.

I actually love Blade's power ups.
They compliment the original design.

Sure, they compliment the original design, but that design isn't exactly the best to begin with. Perhaps it's the coneheadedness, but none of the designs really strike me as good. (Of course, I still want to have all of the Figuarts made.)

Tachibana's constant injuries seem like a really convenient plot device to keep him from helping Mutsuki. Kinda lame, but whatever.
But what I'm really liking is how Nozomi is actually becoming a character. I'm coming to like her a lot more.
Same goes for Shima. I didn't like him at all at first, but he's really picked up this story from the normal kill monsters, get cards.

I really love the Blade designs. They're inventive.
I don't remember the extent of Tachibana's injuries, but since the show doesn't use a 2 episode format, it means that actions can have consequences that last longer than just the next episode.

You haven't gotten to King Form yet.

King Form doesn't do much for me either. That dull, brownish gold really bugs me.

Maybe it's just me, but he seems to spend a lot of off-time for a Rider. First comes his crippling fear, then he gives up with the whole plant drug thing, then the Mole Undead breaks his arm, and now he got a concussion because Mutsuki pushed him into a tree. I'm probably just sensitive to it because he's the guy whose character I find most gripping.

Oh dear, it's the wacky arc for this season. Are they always about food rivalries in Kamen Rider? Between this and the Kabuto dark chef knife thing, I don't know what to believe anymore.

I've caught up with Wizard, The Christmas episode was fun. Now back to finishing Fourze.

I think it looks a lot better than the yellowy gold on Emperor Kiva. King Form actually looks metallic, Emperor Form just looks fake.

Caught up on Wizard. Really liked the Christmas episode. I'm a little concerned they're rushing the forms, however. All we have left is Land Dragon and then what? I know he'll have at least one more power up form but how many more will he have? On a positive note, it seems like Haruto is getting some actual development.

Don't worry. Beast is coming, and he'll dissapoint us all very soon. I don;t think they're rushing, maybe he'll just have alot of them. We got Elek and Fire pretty early on, remember. And with OOO he was switching forms three times an episode. W to. My hope is somewhere along the line Har gets an All Style Ring. Where he can use all styles, at the same time, including Dragon.

I hope Haruto loses his powers.
It'll force him to fight in a manner that doesn't take cues from the Gentaro school of power spam until something works.

When Gentaro did it, it was funny and charming. Because he didn't know wtf he was doing and was winging it. Haruto should know better. Still though, I want an All Style Ring. It's the way they're headed anyway. I think every Rider had one, didn't they? Fourze had Cosmic, after all.

I still like Haruto. Though he doesn't seem as tortured as you might think given what happened to him to gain his abilities. He seems... shockingly up-beat.

I guess, being a comic fan, I'm just a sucker for using your one or two powers in creative ways, rather than just Supermaning it with dozens upon dozens of different abilities.

And if only his "upbeat" attitude extended to his casual appearances...

Really? Look, I love Green Lantern. So much I own a Bluray of the Live Action movie, and watch it often. Love that movie. But he is the perfect example of comic book Powerspam. So is Batman, really.

But. Onto the point. Haruto powerspams, I think, because that's what his abilities are based on. He's a Magic Rider, so he's going to do alot of spells. Yes he has a gun/sword but even that uses spells. It's what a Wizard does. Go Griffondor!

And I love Nightcrawler. He has one power. Teleport. Spidey has 3, Web shooters, Spider Sense, and Super Strength (Hell, I hate Batman).
Fourze has 41 in series, and I couldn't stand it.

Anyway, my problem with Haruto powerspamming is pretty much the same one I had with Gen. If running in a straight line didn't work, do it again wearing different clothes.

Considering how heavily Wizard seems to be modeled after Kuuga, I wouldn't be surprised to see at least two more forms: one higher powered form above the Dragons and then his ultimate form.

In fairness, I'm not sure I'd call most of Fourze's powers "super."

Well they kinda have an all style ring, Special Rush. Granted it's a spell, but in the WizarDriver goes "Furaymu, Wooootah!, Harycaine, Rando...*Dragon roar*"

Now that I've seen Hibiki. I can say I don't like Hibiki. It's not horrible, or anything. I just didn't enjoy it as much as I did other Riders. It was definately an interesting story, and.. yea. I'll rewatch Fourze :lol

I'd say Beat, Smoke, Flash, Water, Pen, Wheel, Screw, Hand, Scoop, Aero and Net were also pretty useless.
Still, that's more than half of his powers being spammable.

I'm about to defy your logic.

Beat to confuse, Smoke to conceal, Wheel for speed, get in close and Flash his eyes to blind, Radar to gain lock. Then Magnet States, Missile, Gatling, and Overkill him/her.

Oh Sentai. I'm a huge Fourze fan, trust me. They were all useful in their own situations, yes. But you'd have to be an idiot to use Flash, Smoke and Beat to do the same thing that Stealth would accomplish in one (very underused) module. Radar was only good for Kengo's complaining and locking on when Gentaro didn't know heads from tails, and Wheel is pointless for speed if you have a motorcycle or a damn Rocket arm.
Some modules are just a lot more versatile and useful than others.
