I admit I kinda lost steam in toku toys after picking up ThreeA but damn Figuarts Stronger really pulled me back. Saw it in stores and was amazed by the colors. Picked it up instantly along with the remaining sic Kiwamis I'm missing.

Raia came in today. :D He's pretty sweet, but he's also totally my first Ryuki Figuart. So for all I know he's the worst of the bunch. :p
But yeah, he's pretty cool. The Sling Vent is awesomely articulated as is his rat tail. His neck joint puts my only other two Figuarts(G3 and IXA) to shame. But one thing that doesn't is his lack of a bicep swivel. Which kinda really sucks since his EvilVisor looks so much like a shield, yet he can't even block his chest. Oh well. Also, am I the only one who finds it funny that you can only recreate one of his four vents with just the stuff that comes with Raia? :lol |

Also, I'm pretty sure Raia's bicep swivel is glued with paint. Bandai must have painted the bicep guard after it was attached to the shoulder joint, and the overspray 'glued' the shoulder to the bicep. I think I'll have to start poking the space between with a knife... EDIT: Heheh. Turns out the bicep guard is attached to the shoulder and not the bicep like I thought. It moves fine, and prevents the nubs from colliding with his shoulder pad. Good thing I caught this early on, or I'd end up with a Raia without a bicep guard. :lol |

If this is where to discuss "new" figuarts, then where can we discuss releases that have already come out? Bc, I'd like opinions on the non-SDCC colored versions of Goku and Gohan and the like. |
Well what I do is I bend Raia's elbow and use his forearm to move the bicep. I'm not sure if mine was glued or not but it's still tight. I think it's the arm detailing scraping against the pink shoulder piece that causes the joint to be so tight. After all, the pink shoulder piece is remolded and was not originally part of the mold.

Digging though my Rider Figuarts and I found out I owned an Amazon.
...Huh. Awesome! |
LOL rocking Matrix...
I will say I can not stop messing around with Meteor. You can just give him the most out of character poses...if I had the time and patience I could make a comic with him just being the biggest tool.... |

Now, with that... I'm new to the figuarts game, and I got: - Trunks - Piccolo - Vegeta - SSJ3 Goku - SDCC SSJ Goku - SDCC SSJ Gohan Now, do you all think that the original colored Gohan and Goku would be worth picking up? Thanks for any insight. |

However, something personal I must point out: I don't like buying multiples of the same character unless they represent different forms or versions, so while I would be perfectly content with the SDCC Goku and Gohan, you may want both. |

I think either Gohan is fine. As for Goku, I prefer the regular release. Without the shading in his hair he looks to be in Perfect SSJ mode. I think the SDCC goku has weird colors also. |

We're at least getting Evildiver with Genocider at the end of the year though. If you're willing to pay for that :lol |

I dunno...I don't have Raia, so I don't know what his tray looks like, but Ryuki's sword and strike vent don't take up nearly as much real estate as Knight's sword vent...

So I'm new to SH Figuarts, after becoming a huge fan of the Tiger & Bunny anime I tracked down what the toy options were and became acquainted with the line. So far I've ordered Wild Tiger, Sky High, Fourze Base States and Meteor(haven't received any yet). Also the first Module set for Fourze and the stand set. I'm going to finish out the T&B cast over the next few months, and pick up Machine Massigler, Scorpio Zodiarts and the fourth Module set(I want that shield!) eventually. Man this is an expensive(but expansive) toyline!
Anyway, I was looking at the pics of the HK(?) show that just happened and noted there wasn't much new shown. What's the usual schedule for Bandai showing off new items? I noticed they had some sort of big event last fall. Is there another scheduled for this year? I want to find out the status of the rest of the T&B SHF and get a look at what they're doing for KR Wizard. |
Nothing for Wizard has been announced yet, but I'm sure we'll get news at least by the end of the year.
As for the T&B stuff, Lunatic was just released and I believe the Dark Wild Tiger should be coming after him. Figures of Fire Emblem, Blue Rose and Dragon Kid have been shown and are also coming, we just gotta wait for promo pics and dates. |
Thanks! I saw those T&B figures, can't wait for them to be announced. Hopefully they're not exclusives.
I saw the raffle exclusive Wild Tiger with the open face plate, agh why did they have to make it so limited? I guess it's extremely unlikely Bluefin will get any for the US market. |
welcome to the addiction is all I can say lol

For the open face Tiger, don't get your hopes up. You're more likely to see Wild Tiger in his original outfit before that one again :\ Quote:

You guys are seeing things I swear...

As for bringing any over to the US.. it could happen, but they'll never reissue exclusive figures, so unless they bring them over to the US at the same time as the original run, like what they're doing with Dekablue and Black Condor, you won't ever see them. I still don't know why it wasn't just a swappable head with the new movie version or something. I guess there's still some hope that they include that with a later release of him (we've already had, what, 4? So why not more). That's just as unlikely though. I would love to see a figure of Tiger in his original costume though! |
I doubt they'd go so far as to make Blue Rose and Dragon Kid exclusives if they did the others so far.
It'd be too weird. Now if Tiger and Barnaby were mass release and the other heroes were exclusives, then I'd see it happening. |

But if they were gonna be exclusives you'd think we would have heard about it by now, with how much they're displayed at each toy show.
I really hope they aren't. Dragon Kid's my favorite of the Heroes. |
Dragon Kid was a nice surprise in the show. It's too bad she didn't get more of her back story fleshed out. Blue Rose I can easily see people not liking. She's a bit of a coward, her superhero suits makes her look like she's in her 40s and her crush on Wild Tiger is...odd to say the least.
But I don't see making the others exclusives as a popular decision. I'm sure there are a lot of people who want a full cast of heroes and limiting the numbers of figures made for the others is just a bad idea. |
Just a friendly note to all you guys that it's been decided to keep the Figuarts thread here strictly on discussion of the Toku side of things. Since there isn't enough traffic to devote a whole subforum to off-topic toys like TFW's Toyark, all other things and images Figuarts can continue in the corresponding Figuarts thread in General Discussion.
http://www.tokunation.com/showthread.php?t=10057 Feel free to continue the T&B talk over there, as well as anything on DBZ, One Piece, the upcoming Saint Seiya Omega, even Pretty Cure. |
I think it'd be odd to have Blue Rose as an exclusive and not, say, Origami Cyclone or Rock Bison. She seems more important than they do.
Anyway, I guess I'll cough up the money if Blue Rose and Dragon Kid are exclusives, I like all the characters from the show a lot. I'd probably even buy a Figuarts Zero of Agnes if they made one. They made Saito as that raffle exclusive so it doesn't actually seem that unlikely. Those type of raffle figures don't ever show up on Mandarake do they? Incidentally I was stocking up on koto MSG stuff on HLJ and saw their KR sale... heavily considering getting the 000 Shauta figure and the Kiwami Wolf and Horse Orphnochs. The later two just make sense since I was going to pick them up anyway and they're so discounted they'd pay for the shipping themselves almost. The 000 Shauta is one of the designs that stood out to me most when I was looking up SHF stuff... it reminds me of the Guyver. Really slick design. Quote:

Hey fellas. Nadeshiko just came in. First impression: Damn this toy is LIGHT! The absence of diecast aside, the figure's female proportions gives Bandai a chance to skim out on a lot of plastic. Figure-wise, the articulation is standard Figuarts which is awesome. The Silver paint looks very striking and is relatively well done save for an unfortunately positioned scratch on her...right boob. Also the shoulder articulation where the arm and the shoulder pad meet feels rather flimsy. Might just be on mind.
The packaging is one of the most handsome designs I've seen on a Figuart in a while. This might be one of the few exclusives where I'll keep the box along with my Kamen Rider Joker box. Is it worth the premium? Not really. It does come with a super awesomely pink Figuart stand which brings out all kinds of warm fuzzy feelings. If you have a Fourze, I'd try getting her to compliment him but don't pay over 70 bucks for her. I mainly got her just to have a feel of what future female Riders would be like. Hopefully Femme will have a little more heft to her. Not to say that a light figure is a bad thing but for the premium you'd be paying, I'm not sure if you feel you'd get your money's worth. |
