Marika didn't really have a goal so much as "I'll follow you I guess".
|
Marika was looking for the one worthy of making a better world. One who’s powerful to make that dream a reality.
Sabera is no Marika! |

I still think Reika is one of most annoying character
She even more annoying than childish Kenzan..... |
I don't see how people can find Reika annoying.
Because she opposes Touma ? Then people are annoyed by antagonists in general ? If anything, the problem of Reika is that her role is tiny until now. In 10-ish episodes, the actress had mostly one line to give per episode, mostly being "Kill Touma" "Touma is a traitor" "Touma wants power" or "Bring back XXX" The show doesn't give her enough space to be something else than "doubt in human form". And I actually hope that becoming a rider make her having more time to develop or something and not just be a punchline on legs. As for Luna being a rider. People can dream. Tsukuyomi happened near the end of Zi-O after all. But she is supposed to be the damsel in distress stereotype character of Fairy Tales and she is also probably set up as the end goal of Saber being a special being connecting our world and wonderworld (like saving Luna equals saving the world and the main show plotline) |
When is Falchion' Henshin series out in the next month?
|
Yes along with Emotional Dragon Wonderride Book

The one guy who called Sabera a disappointment just because she's a supposedly evil character shows how dense these people can be. What an unbelievably horrible fucking take lol the sad part is many viewers are like this. I'm super fucking excited to see more of Reika. As a villain, there's no way she can be sidelined, at least not for this quarter. Quote:

I like Reika because while she has been succeeding in her goals what with turning the swordsmen against Touma, getting Wonderride books, etc.
She's also still losing equally and isn't being forced to be this omnipotent "I always win" character that annoyed me greatly about Gai. Because despite progressing, there's still stuff going against her. Yuri having yet to be brought in, Daishinji and Ogami clearly not buying into the lies anymore. Etc. Compared to Gai who was like "All According to Keikaku" and wasn't getting pushed against in a reasonable matter until after he won the arc he got set up in. |
|
I guess I can see why people hate, or at least extremely annoyed at, Reika. She was an Among Us Impostor saying "Red Sus" and pretty much everyone believed her. Of course, we knew that she was basically lying and she caused Touma to be kicked out of the Sword of Logos group. Obviously, we would be annoyed at her after playing Among Us. Given how popular Among Us is in the West (maybe more than in Japan), we would know the pain of being ejected by people acting like idiots just because someone said "Red Sus". So, we relate with Touma's pain and anger of being ejected from the Sword of Logos Group and have decided to hate her.
|
Yes, I can see how abridging Reika's "keikaku" and comparing her to Among Us of all things, one can see how she would be... Annoying.
No one completely believed her. For the past few EPs, both Ogami and Daishinji are clearly shown to be distrustful of either side. We dunno much about Ren, only going "Kento-kun" every second, and Rintarou is pretty much the closest we have to someone 'believing' her. Looking at it from a different angle, Reika only planted half-truths on everyone, it was Touma's lack of communication skills (for the plot) that caused him to be kicked out. Edit: my bad for my passive aggressive tone. I just found comparing Saber to Among Us to be a bit distateful |
The thing is too is that no-one believes in her specifically, they believe in who she represents -- Sword of Logos as a whole, and its master. Rintarou has an extreme belief in the system due to it being like a family to him; Ogami and Daishinji were simply looking to their leaders while even then having doubt; and Ren... is Ren. There was never any belief in Reika, she was just the messenger.

Second female insect rider in a row. Valkyrie was the first.

Lightning Hornet is my favorite form of Valkyrie. I appreciate its symmetry!
|
I keep going back and forth on which one I prefer -- both of them are very awesome with very different aesthetics; which is about the best you can hope for when it comes to design!
|
For me, it's the Jackal Raider. It felt like an actual direct upgrade and it's dark-based powers are very cool.
|
I still really wish we got a kitbashed riderfied Jackal Raider form. Because Yua just sorta drops using the Jackal Key after becoming Valkyrie and it would have been cool to see her use it as like an extra form/upgrade.
Especially since like I think I remember seeing the concept art book but the underneath of jackal portion of the helmet is supposedly hiding Lightning Hornet styled eyes or at least that's the implication. But eh, I suppose I can let it slide since I have no idea if they had any plans for it and if Covid screwed them in that regard. |
I just hope the new Calibur is Kento. And that he isn't completely brainwashed by it.
If he is Kento, I can picture him kicking Kenzan's a** for good as punishment for being a brat and how he treated Touma! |
Honestly I dislike Reika 'cuz she's a villain/morally ambiguous person and I'm supposed to find her unlikeable to a degree.
Overall I think she's a good character if somewhat lacking in focus beyond her stoic nature we saw since she came. At the very least she's not a "I'm winning everything outright" sort of character that Gai became during the Workplace Competition Arc, since Daishinji and Ogami are suspicious of her but followed her orders since she's a messenger for Master Logos, Rintaro follows her because he was raised by the Sword of Logos and her seniority over him, and Ren 'cuz he's also suffering from a lack of focus and mostly because he wants to fight. It was never a "totally have everyone under my thumb" situation, it only spiraled into a "Touma vs. the SoL" because Touma kinda sucked at communicating. Hopefully with Reika becoming Sabera/Szabla/however they're gonna romanize the name, she'll actually start getting a stronger personality. Also, kinda taking offense at people comparing Yoko and Reika and saying that Yoko is a "worse" character 'cuz she had a simple motivation. Not every character needs to have a complex reason to do their actions, sometimes they can just be a vehicle for others/the plot. It can be a detriment to writing if you try giving EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER long complex reasons for what they do. |
Watch it. There is going to be a plot twist where Reika is Luna. Yeah, this is just theoretical. Not exactly 100 Percent. Either that or maybe Sophia or Mei. All of these theoretical ideas. I just know that, when it comes to Tokusatsu, they like to have those kinds of plot twists.
Meanwhile, I really think it's interesting that the Emotional Dragon WRB actually flips a panel over the face of Primitive Dragon to create a new faceplate. |

Note: This post contains spoilers for Episode 24
Man, from the looks of things, I think that Primitive Dragon has at least at some level of sentience and is at least somewhat protective of Touma. When it sensed Touma was in danger of being taken down by Legeiel, it decided to swoop in for the rescue and power up Touma into Primitive Dragon Brave Dragon. I mean, Primitive Dragon could have easily decided to possess another Swordsman. Like one of the Sword of Logos group. It chose to save Touma and give Touma its power. Even though it is controlling him, I think that Primitive Dragon is at least somewhat protective of Touma. Looking at the Wiki, this is part of Primitive Dragon's Description: Quote:
Though, one of the books found in another place seems to be glowing, but it's only shown glowing when Touma transforms into Primitive Dragon. Maybe that is Elemental Dragon. Maybe it requires the presence of Touma in Primitive Dragon Form to finally transform into the Elemental Dragon Wonder Ride Book. |

Also Luna wasn't Touma's sister. |
The hand holding theme of Elemental Dragon feels a bit more wholesome now.
I guess I'm warming up to it, aren't I? https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dAZYVntJI...o-Ja-Naito.jpg |
