As the only save data on my SD card is Yugioh and a little bit of Kirby so I can test the physical copy for the glitch. My SD card is Nintendo licensed.

The absolute PR storm of SWSH is beautiful.

Despite all the issues, who’s been playing Sword & Shield and have you been enjoying it?
|
Speaking of, anyone got a spare $50 for a loser like me to be able to grab Sword/Shield? :lol

I just enjoy playing Pokemon. It's my de-stresser :lol

If you don't own Sword and Shield and are still on the fence about it let me tell you. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNLESS YOU CAN GET IT FOR LIKE $30 OR LESS.

Not much of a story till post game. Dialogue is weird and akward at times. Stufff just happens and no real surprises. Gameplay is average If this was a Gameboy game I would have nothing bad to say. Things seem oddly safe. At least there is a post game even though even that was bad for different reasons.
That is all I can remember right now, will post more if I remember more. I wanted to like this more but Ijust can't and so far this was the worst main game for me. This game would probably be great for a kid but for me a guy where dropping $50 on one thing is a lot of money this game I just can't recommend at full retail. |

What I'm left with is a very solid and focused entry that I feel a lot more motivated to not just replay, but even get into competitively for the first time in years. |

I'm genuinely enjoying my playthrough of Sword, and, thankfully, the only older Pokémon I wanted for my party - Sylveon and Tsareena - both made it in. But two of my all time favourite Pokémon - Piplup and Liligant - aren't. I would have loved to go camping with them, or run around the Wild Area with them, and I do find it upsetting that you can't. Does no National Dex make SwSh bad games? In my opinion, no. But it does make them worse games than SuMo/USUM. |

I will say that if they're keeping transfer around, though, then it would make sense to have a larger selection than 435 -- I personally would have said that around 550, or if you're pushing it 600 is a better more representative number. Further, I think they should have had all starters; I think those are the ones most people would care about transferring up. Not everyone used, for instance, Pidove or Roggenrola in their Gen 5 games; but you can all but guarantee that most will have used Snivy, Tepig or Oshawott. But I think asking for every single creature and feature Game Freak has ever made is asking them to put all their workload on providing us everything from the past rather than moving forward and creating something new. Though, really, all these problems arise from them bringing out a new game yearly. Maybe if they were given anything other than the most ludicrous work schedule in the world, we could have had more content... |

I do definitely agree on the topic of the starters, though - and that the whole 'game a year' think is really hurting them... |

Funnily enough, one of the examples you brought up - Lilligant - is one of the Pokémon I would have specifically added to the game besides the starters since Whimsicott is in but she isn't |
I doubt we will see new Mega Evolutions until Gen 6 gets a remake which probably won't happen for at least another 15 years.

Still no National Dex, no Megas, and no Z-Moves. Pass. |
How much they charge for this will determine how I feel.

I do want Gen 4 remakes because that Gen got me back into Pokemon for a while. I loved the story in Platinum version with the new lore that they added into the game.
|
Regi Drake is also nice. Damn might just have to get it.
|
Zapdos became a Chocobo. I can see why the only people who are upset about the DLC is that they want to spend more money

Please tell me they are joking. They can't seriously think RegiDrake is Galarian Cubone.

Anyways, as much as I like the idea of new Regi's... a dragon one? This is kind of a "one of these is not like the other"-situation here, you have inanimate objects / elements with Rock, Ice, Steel, Electric and then... Dragon? Huh? Unless I've missed something this doesn’t add up :lol Personally I would’ve made a Grass-one, especially since Regigigas already has little bushes on him. The Electric-one they could've incorporated as the "power source" this behemoth and the Grass-one already works as is. But I guess trying to fit it all into Regigigas only unnecessarily limits creativity, and the Dragon Regi does look really cool. And as far as I know Regigigas only molded the other three, they were not born out of elements present in itself. Although this means - did he grind up some poor dragons into a little meat puppet or how did this work? |

Regional variants on legendaries is a neat way of keeping them fresh and interesting. I can't wait to see more!

I can't say my thoughts on this have changed terribly much since the first teaser -- this is certainly a shameless, lifeless recreation of the original. One thing that does stand out is that there appear to be a few new scenes in there relating to Team Rocket (the organisation, not the trio) but hardly ones that seem terribly interesting or worth seeing the movie for. I never liked the interpretation of Team Rocket as this sort of generic world-conquering legendary-hunting threat anyway; they were originally presented as and work best as successful (well, until a 10-year-old shows up) organised crime.
Anyone been playing SwSh recently? I'm really looking forward to the DLC; it's not just the content we would have gotten in a potential third version for cheaper, it seems far beyond the scope of any content third versions have added in the past. Usually it goes as far as a battle facility place and a legendary-hunting place, but here we've got new fully fledged story and lore and entirely new very large areas to roam around. I'm very happy with getting a lot more for a lot less. |
Watching Indigo League due to Boomarang skipping it and Orange Island on DVD.

As someone who's been broadly fine with SwSh's decisions so far (my disappointments mostly lie in the game not having quite as much content as it could; whether in regards to dexit or otherwise), this... is something I absolutely hate.
You can say as much as you want about other things that have been done with Pokémon's pricing recently; but that mostly comes from decisions outwith of Pokémon specifically (NSO is hardly GF's policy, nor is the standard switch game price), or subjectivity (you can argue DLC held back content to make you pay more than standard price for it, but you can argue this for any game including some of the best practises of it like Smash and it's ultimately up to the person to decide value). But this is straight up a hefty price increase for apparently no reason. Bank costing £5 a year was... a bit frustrating, but mostly acceptable. It was contentious to begin with because the previously free service of Pokémon transfer was free as long as you had the games, but that was its biggest crime; otherwise, £5 a year to cover server costs for a storage service is acceptable and understandable. But now things have been increased to £15 a year, for... no good reason?? They doubled the storage space, but it's not like there's an option to have half the storage space for £8 or something. The extra features are also hardly stressing out the servers; maybe GTS and Wonder Trade but that's being offered for free, so... huh? Even if some of these features are free, they're also ones that really should have been in the game to begin with or at least added to the game via a later free update. At best making them part of an external free service is just very awkward, clunky and inconvenient and actively discourages me from using it. An IV judge being part of the premium package is, at best, just strange when it's available in SwSh's base game. And then despite the free plan existing, once again; transfer is one of the ones locked behind a paywall. ... oh, and you still need to pay for the outdated Bank service to even be able to transfer, so that's extra awesome. There's so many decisions here that are bizarre or just straight-up scummy. When you get right down to it; this is asking triple the price for a service that ultimately does not have the value to justify it for any but the most hardcore players and those that just have money to burn, and it especially does not help when there's other costs this generation like NSO. I was so happy to see the DLC because it actually showed Game Freak moving to a much better, customer friendly model. But, wow, they just saved all their malice for this one. |
Honestly...I think it's a fair price.

It's just greedy. |
Yeah for full Home functionality meaning including Bank, you need to spend 41 bucks a year
