Viz Media has 5 series to release before all 23 previous years of Pokemon will be on DVD -
Rival Destanies Adventures In Unova X Y Kalos Quest X Y Z Black And White (Year 1 of 3) has recently been relreased on DVD. (Confirmation by Wal - Mart web site who had a list price for it.) |
You're gonna watch all that?!? If so then good luck mate, that's a momentous task you've undertaken.
|
I've seen Adventures In The Orange Island and Jhoto on Boomarang but need to finish Master Quest and I have it on DVD. I placed my order for Diamond Pearl set 1 recently which I'll be starting in December. watching Indigo as this had gotten skipped by Boomarang. I'm resuming my run on DVD with Advanced.
Currently I'm watching Advanced - Battle Frontier on DVD. I would like to play the games starting with Ruby forward. |
Johto is spelled with the h after the first o.
I remember when I watched the anime. I stopped after Diamond and Pearl, when Ash got cheesed out by two legendaries since they couldn't figure out another way to have him lose the tournament, followed by Black and White beginning with Ash basically having a hard reset on his brain (Like, yeah, he's an idiot, but he was a super competent trainer by this point. Suddenly in B/W he's making mistakes that seemed more fitting for Kanto). |
I just got a new DVD player this afternoon. With this in I'm looking forward to seeing the later series after DP.
Viz has home release rights so I can get caught up. I'm on my first full turn with Ruby / Sapphire. Ruby - Sapphire Current point Ash had caught a Talow Wheezing and Arbok have left Team Rocket and Cakcnia has just joined them. Ash about to get his first Hoenn Badge in Rustburrow City. I've only seen 2 of Diamond and Pearl. |
For what its worth, I really enjoyed the Pokemon Ranger games!
|
All 4 sets in Diamond and Pearl have shipped as well as Battle Frontier.
Advanced Ash caught a Treeko Jessie has a Saviper after personally fighting it before catching it. Has anybody else ever fought a Pokemon as Jessie had in Advanced by the way? It's the first time I've ever seen that. |
Don't we have a Pokemon thread already?
|
No.
Anyway here's what happened 11 years ago when I had cable. Pokemon was picked up by Boomerang and they started with Orange Island's The Pokemon Water War and had gone all the way to Master Quest and restart. They had done this 3 times. This year in 2021 I'm watching starting at Advanced. I have the entire Ruby / Sapphire run on DVD and have resumed from that point. Diamond And Pearl will be January 2022. Hopefully all 3 sets of Black And White will be out on year set DVD after I finish Sinnoh League Victors |
Viz has released Pokemon Black And White 1 on Year Set DVD in July.

I've never been a fan of the anime genre. Moreover, I treated him as lightly as possible, believing that these "cartoons" are designed exclusively for children, maximum adolescence. Oh gods, I've never been so wrong. Once I decided to watch Death Note. I was interested in the description and rating. And what's the difference that it is 2006 - it's never too late to discover masterpieces for yourself. So I thought and launched the first episode ... Death Note is a story about what can happen if such a magical artifact is in the hands of a genius, sociopath and psychopath with a God complex. Agree, the idea is very interesting and unusual! From this series my love for anime began.

Starting Advanced Challenge next in a few days. As I'm watching the series on DVD I'm curious as to how the Anime shifts with each Generation. The first change up happens with the US cast at Battle Frontier. As for the Anime this will be a bigger curiosity for me.

Master Journeys is now on Pokemon TV.
|
Almost an entire week late but Scarlet and Violet's first DLC expansion being Momotaro themed is hilarious considering it got announced the very next day after Donbrother's finale

In a few days I'll place orders for XY - XYZ which marks the final generation aired on
Cartoon Network. (6 sets combined.) Each series in XY has been split into 2 parts. This also happened with Adventures In Unova. Series watch Finally after 12 years I managed to finish Advanced. In 2010 I had cable and Boomerang picked up Pokemon but started at Adventures In The Orange Island The Pokemon Water War They would get close to the end of Master Quest and restart with Orange Islands again. So I bought the DVDs in case if anybody runs it they restart at the 1st one aired. I have up to Adventures In Unova. My restart was with Pokemon Indigo League Pokemon I Chose You Starting Advanced Challenge. My back run will include the final few episodes of Master Quest. I recently had streamed 5 banned episodes of the series on You Tube. |
DVD Update
US Dub Episodes Pocket Monsters Journeys 3 releases Master Journeys Full year set Viz Media is doing a home release for Master Journeys. This isn't a surprise. Ultimate Journeys is on Netflix so it makes sense we'd see a DVD set for Master Journeys. Target store had pre orders on their site. These episodes are also streaming on Pokemon TV. I'm thinking Ultimate Journeys may also see a home release when it gets closer to the Gen 9 anime. Not sure if we'll see something like what happened with Journeys covering all 8 regions or if it'll be Scarlet And Violet in the title. |
Pokemon Generation 9 Anime Series
This series while set in Paldea will relaunch Pokemon. Riko and Roy will be the leads for the Anime following the Scarlet And Violet games. Unknown if this will stay in Paldea or be another global adventure format like Journeys - Ultimate Journeys The series starts April 2023 in Japan |
Banned Episodes
18 Beauty And The Beach 35 The Legend Of Dratini Holiday Hi Jynx Adventures On The Orange Islands 10 Stage Fight 19 The Mandarin Island Miss Match Master Quest 00 The Ice Caves |
Probably a dull and boring question, but please humor me.
Thinking about getting back into the anime. It's been a long time, but the franchise is feeling the euphoria of renewed interest thanks to Ash "retiring" from the anime and Horizons slated to begin next month. It might be time to dig back into the adventures and the lore. I've taken a gander through the offerings on Netflix and Hulu, but it's obvious that while they have a sizable amount, a lot is missing from both. Are there any official means of tracking down the rest of the entries, including disc releases? I've heard of Pokemon TV, but know very little about it. |
Pokemon TV but you would need to wait for them to
repost Jhoto Journeys. Then when they do watch from there but it would mean a nasty full on binge to watch 50 weeks worth per series. This is why I bought Indigo League - Master Journeys on DVD. With DVD I can take my time and spread them out. On DVD I'm about to start Series II. Some episodes are part of Indigo League. This will give me time to order in X Y Z and Journeys (Series XXIII). Sun And Moon Ultra Legends Set 2 came in the mail today. On the 31st I need to order X Y Z so I can watch all 22 series pre Netflix without having to worry about chunks of the Anime being splt over 4 servers or something. DVD is about having the series together in one place rather than spread out. I get where you're going. That reason is why I own the DVDs. |
Pokemon Horizons (Generation IX Anime)
Japan starts Horizons (Series XXVI) next week.
Hopefully Pokemon TV will get this so I can skip Netflix. https://youtu.be/_c_hMehCORQ From Pokemon.com Series info . Pokemon Horizons: The Series brings fans an exciting adventure with new characters set in the familiar, fun world of Pok?mon. Both Liko and Roy possess mysterious objects—a pendant and a unique-looking Pok? Ball, respectively—but in order to unravel their significance, Liko will need to take a courageous first step. Along the way, Liko and Roy meet Friede, Captain Pikachu, and Amethio. Watch the latest trailer to learn more about Liko and Roy’s journey through the Pok?mon world. |
You tube link works btw. Click to watch.

There’s a Pokemon thread in the General Discussion section where this would be more suited for
|
Merged the threads. Please use news and rumors only for Toku related news.
|
Speaking of Pokemon, has anybody here downloaded the DLC Expansion Pass for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet yet?
|
Not yet. Mostly due to talk of it inducing bugs in the game. I’m holding off until word from Nintendo that they’ve fixed the issue.

DVD Update
Will be watching all 24 series (Indigo League - Master Journeys) on DVD. There will be a wait for Ultimate Journeys (Series XXV) on DVD as Netflix has yet to air the final episodes in the USA. Japan starts Horizons (Series XXVI) this week which is Gen 9. I'll wait to see it on Pokemon TV. |
|
Watched eek 1 of Horizons on Poke Flix.
Admittedly while a departure from Ash there's one thing. I would have preferred they stay in Paladea as with previous generations. But this could be another Around The World deal. That aside it looks like a decent series. Also will be soon starting Sun And Moon Ultra Adventures. Master Journeys is next on DVD. Over All thoughts - Journeys Part 1 In the case of Journeys as this is the 25th fore the series it made sense to do a tribute series to look back at what was before. I would have loved to see a straight up Galar series. As a whole the Journeys trilogy is turning out to be solid. I'm on Master Journeys. Ash is in the Corination League rising up the ranks. I will watch Ultimate Journeys anyways at some point. |
