I wonder if they can do Injustice Scorpion? He is not a DC character, but he still appear in the game as a guest fighter.

Billy shall always be Captain Marvel to me. Also: :lolol |
I would consider buying the Injustice figuarts if they were not so much money. I remember Batman was like $60 which is the same price for the Play Arts Kai figures.
I do hope to see more Star Wars figuarts soon. I hope we get Yoda and Darth Maul later down the line. |
Yoda? How would that work out?

The sad thing is as much as it's cool Vader's getting a SHF, I don't really want it. I already have two figures I've used for years to display him and paying the same price for a Kamen Rider or Sentai release I'd want just doesn't strike me well.
Now if they did the Crimson Guards or Revan however... |
Honestly, unless they plan on doing all of the main cast of Star Wars, I think doing Vader and the ST is pointless.
|
Not to mention Bandai also did those really cool Samurai-esque figures of Vader and the ST. So it does seem rather weird/pointless to make SHFs of them unless as Kain said, they plan to do a full line.

What do you guys think about Bluefin Tamashii Nations survey at NYCC? Credit goes to Den-O for posting this on Twitter.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BzzIuutCYAASL5V.jpg A lot of cool choices. I notice a lot of American/European choices like Judge Dredd, Mortal Kombat, Adventure Time, Game of Thrones and Bravest Warriors. I guess Bluefin is trying to expanding the Figuarts market that exists outside of japan. I guess the Injustice figuarts are another attempt made to the US market similar how the S.H MonsterArts figures and the DBZ figuarts are. |
*Gasps* Street Fighter!?
|
Out of the ones on the list, these are the ones I'd go ape shit over:
Mortal Kombat Cowboy Bebop Edward Scissorhands Bruce Lee |
Still waiting for Soul Calibur figuarts. I would totally buy Nightmare if they use his design from SC1, SC2 or SC5. I hated his design in SC4.

I don't even know how Street Fighter Figuarts would work, but I'd love them~
I'm not even big on SF :lol Quote:

And they can't even spell Mortal Kombat right. Off that list though, I would only vote for either Voltron or Judge Dredd. Everything else on there I do not need toys for. |
Mortal Kombat is one of my favorite video game franchises. I would buy likely buy the most of the figuart line. Just do Reptile and I will be a happy man :).
|
If they make Titan Figuarts, they'd better be massive.
|
...Shit. I just realized that the characters I like in Street Fighter aren't the "Main" characters. So unless it's Ryu, Chun-Li, or titties, it won't ever get a possible release.
Sagat! Q! M. Bison/Vega/Dictator/Whatever! *Cries* TFW It's not even something confirmed or anything :lol |

Pacific Rim is about the only one I'd support. Tokyo Ghoul maybe, but I really question its popularity at this point. Fairy Tail honestly suprises me Max Factory hasn't picked up, but then yeah it could work too. *(Yeah I just really dislike Bravest Warriors...) |
This is the exact same poll I saw and took at NYCC. It's nothing new. Just put the image out there to show people it hadn't changed and is null and void of toku licenses aside from Pacific Rim.

(Oh and it not being posted anywhere before... at least not here or that I saw elsewhere... and NYCC just being a week old, still totally makes it new in my book.) |
AOT has a better chance than most of making it due to the overrated air it has gotten the last couple years. Fairy Tail? Pfft. Naruto just started getting it's two main characters out, no way FT will sell as much yet. Same goes for Card Captor Sakura & Black Butler.
Mortal Kombat & Street have good chances too, since gaming seems to be Bluefin's main focus now. GOTG? They already have Marvel Legends. We don't need Figuarts of those guys. Cowboy Bebop? Pacific Rim? Freddy Mercury? Bravest Warriors? Game Of Thrones? Dr. Who? Titanfall? Judge Dredd? I don't care enough about those franchises to give an opinion. Adventure Time? Edward Scissorhands? Bruce Lee? Are you freaking serious?! Don't waste time, effort & money making those!!! I know the Toku fandom isn't the biggest in the USA but please! We're more than just a bunch of MMPR fanwanks! But it's because of those people that those Figuarts even came here to begin with. I'll just stick to getting Kamen Rider stuff online. Forget this garbage. |
I was at SDCC but totally missed this. I would've loved to offer a vote for Mortal Kombat & Guardians.

I wasn't interested in the Iron Man Figuarts. Marvel Legends has been such a good line recently IMO that I don't feel the need for Figuarts of their heroes. Even if they're as good as you say, why should they get both Marvel Legends & Figuarts? Other American franchises don't get to have too many good figures of either line's quality, & Marvel's characters get both? Just seems unfair & a little redundant to me.
|
If they do GOTG then won't Bluefin have issues releasing them in the US similar what happen with the Iron Man figuarts? Adventure Time and Bravest Warriors are such random choices too. I can kinda understand Adventure Time, but I never heard of Bravest Warriors until recently.

You guys can have your Marvel figuarts, I want something else. What I really want is: Titanfall, Cowboy Bebop, and Fairy Tail figuarts. I want a damn Spike Spiegel figure, damn it! :lol
|
I think it says a lot when even I think Doctor Who Figuarts would be dumb idea.

Who cares about a BlueFin poll, even without its bizarre choices?
This isn't the first poll they've put out and when have they ever actually achieved anything? Remember the "Which Power Rangers do you want next?" or the "Which Kaiju do you want next?". None of them ever happened. |
Meh, not really interested in any proproties on that list to be honest.
It's pointless conjecture anyways, since polling aren't really guarentees that those figures will ever exist or see the light of day for that matter. |

On the production side of things, this isn't like an anime franchise - it's live action and they've never really handled this before. It won't be a case of just buying some rights, they have to buy actor likeness rights and get the sculpts looking good as well. If they were to do it I can totally only see them doing the new series Doctors (and even then I think they'd skip Eccleston because GOTTA HOOK THE TENNANT FANS) and then lazily call it a day. Then we have the monsters, in which again I'd fully expect Bluefin to only really cover the modern series because they'll believe that's the only thing that'll sell. And to be honest, the new series doesn't have that many iconic monsters that would be worth making articulated figures of. Cybermen, Silurians and Sontarans are about it, and they're all new iterations of classic monsters. When you get to Daleks and Weeping Angels they're pretty much going to be Figuarts ZEROS, and some fans are stupid enough to not buy them simply because of that. If I've learnt anything from NYCC its Bluefin are only interested in what's hot. So if they were to get Doctor Who I'd expect them to put about 2-3 figures at the most and then move onto something else. And that isn't really the right attitude to have when at the very least fans are going to demand 12/13 figures from them to begin with. |

Personally I think if ANYTHING on that list is going to see the light of day, it'll be Freddy Mercury or Pacific Rim, since they've expressed interest in both of those things before. I think Guardians could happen to, I mean we are getting Iron Man stuff, so getting more Marvel from Bandai I think could happen. I think Street Fighter COULD happen, and I'd love to see it, since that property deserves good toys (as does Mortal Kombat, but I don't know how popular it is in Japan), and they've dealt with Capcom previously, so that might help things. |
